Who's been unexpectedly kind to you this year, or at any time?

Just small things, not cruises or anything like that, please, nor how kind you've been to others

Just small random acts that have stayed with you.

Mine for this year is a random grand netter, when I was moaning about my health, and how I may have to get a taxi to and from hospital.

I got an inbox from someone, who I'm not friends with, particularly, and don't even know, particularly.

She said she was more than happy to transfer some money into my bank sooner than me miss the appointment. smile

It's not about gransnet, by the way, just kindness.

Also, when I was called to the hospital for "the chat" when my girlie was dying, the junior doctor aged about seventeen, had bought me a donut.

Hi NannyJan yes thanks, the hospital team was on the case and quickly got me up and running again. Looking forward to seeing you in January if you can make it.

Mine was on a train journey with a grumpy one year old grandson. Long day visiting relatives and d this was the journey home. I was mortified on a crowded train and I imagined people not wanting to hear it. I was in an aisle seat. The woman on the other side of the aisle got up to let the person next to her get off. She offered me her seat so I had spare seat next to me. This didn't settle him so I decided to put him in his buggy and go and try to get him to sleep in the lobby area. Same woman came with me, got the buggy and unfolded it.

Eventually just before we were getting off he went to sleep. Two middle aged men came to get ready to get off and congratulated me in getting him to sleep. I said I'd been worried id get lynched and they said not to worry and I'd played a blinder.

Those 3 people probably haven't given it a thought but six months on I still think they were wonderful.

Miss Adventure. When I heat that name I am always reminded of the young siren in Under Milk Wood ‘Call me Dolores like they do in the stories’.

My neighbour put my wheelie bin out in thick snow yesterday, it’s a small thing but very welcome, pity the dustbin men couldn’t be bothered to come!

Good on your neighbour.
I suppose the bin men didn't come because ot the snow?
Does that mean you'll have to get the bin in again?

My neighbour's mother was wonderfully kind during my OH's
recent , unexpected ,10 day hospitalisation at a hospital an hour's drive away. I don't drive and the journey on public transport was a half hour walk to the station ; half an hour on the train and a bus ride to the hospital. She offerred any lifts that I needed. Obviously I only took her up on it a couple of times but those times made a vast difference giving me a much needed break.
We get on well with her son , our fairly new neighbour, but this was above and beyond.

Since my eldest daughter died a few weeks ago, after losing a son 2 years ago, my remaining 3 children have really looked after me. I can`t thank them enough for all their help.
