Or should that be, Archewell Productions and Archewell Foundation would like to remind everyone who they are??

Somewhere amongst the self congratulatory photos of themselves doing great works đŸ€” is a pic of their children taken from behind.

Pointless?

Because we both partners with cancer.

When your partner was diagnosed with cancer, I am truly sorry, did you choose not to speak publicly of it? if so were
you accused of having an affair, the press , social media demanding to see your partner? When you did go public were
you told the country had a right to know every medical detail of the cancer ?

No but I'd rather that than be worried about how I'm going to put food on the table and heat the house.

Oh look. Another thread full of people offended that the US, a secular country , is inclusive of all religions during this period of time by using the words Haopy Holidays

How interesting.
As a secular country I wonder why speeches so often (if not even always) by politicians end with “
and God bless the United States of America”
Which god would that be? .

Brave words, WellsRose, but sadly - from my reading of many RF threads on GN over the years - you won’t find many prepared to agree with you. Deference and blind adoration are the order of the day.

Silly post 😂😂😂

I’m sorry you consider my post “silly”. I sincerely think that many folk absolutely love and admire the RF, no matter what they are told about them. The RF lead lives of immense privilege and commoners are encouraged to defer to them - curtseying etc.

I was widowed age 33 with two small children, I wouldn’t want
anyone, rich or on the breadline to know that pain,

You have hatred for people you don’t know, that is sad

LucyAnna2 Sat 21-Dec-24 14:50:57

But do you not hate Meghan, Anmiebach?

Not hate, I dislike her yes, I dislike lies and she lies, I dislike her and Harry, do we not all speak out against people lie and cause hurt ?

I don’t think Marcus Rashford can be said to represent ordinary people. He’s been earning over £15 million a year for a number of years now and his days of understanding poverty are long behind him.

I know some years ago he campaigned for free meals in school holidays but that was just one gesture that cost him nothing and he now lives a luxurious and hedonistic life style. His car collection alone is worth millions and his wild party lifestyle has cost him his place in his team.

He crashed one of his cars at very high speed into an innocent driver and showed no concern for his action.

I think he’s about as divorced from everyday people’s needs and reality as you can get.

I have never expressed hatred

Marcus Rashford’s life history is well known so I won’t repeat it other than to say yes, he knew hardship but in a loving family. Like many who achieve high success with accompanying huge income, he’s having a bit of a wobble. His game isn’t as it should be and the club he loves aren’t selecting him as a result
I expect he will return to form in life generally. I wouldn’t sneer at his charity work, that continues .

I struggle to understand people who a have dislike of others built on envy. Their jealousy is unfounded.
As I see it, the Royals have to try to live a perfect life with all the trials that being in a constant goldfish bowl bring? If the children realise how wealthy and privileged they are, might they not also have an inkling of the future angst and stresses that await them? What a prospect to live with growing up.
I certainly don't envy them.

So hang on a minute. Isn't my feelings towards The Royal Family just dislike ? I dislike the greed, selfishness, laziness, corruption and dishonesty of the Royal family.

Anniebach Sat 21-Dec-24 15:32:32

Yes escaped , we see the Wales children attending private school, having private health care, we know what lies ahead for
them,

Do you ? Much you have read in the press and tell all books,
who do you say is lazy, dishonest, corrupt?

It’s true Marcus Rashford has partnered with Fareshare to allow them to use his celebrity status to raise contributions from others.

Lots of celebrities do that - including the Royal Family.

He, himself lives a fabulously wealthy lifestyle as a celebrity who is deferred to and has an entourage to meet his wishes.

I don’t really see the difference

Because he's experienced poverty, he worked to get that money not just had a massive handout. He doesn't have the ear of the prime minister.

That's not what you said at all, though, is it.

You said Deference and blind adoration are the order of the day on Gransnet which is patently untrue.

Now you're moving the goalposts by changing the words to love and admire.

That isn't necessarily true either. Admiration for carrying on with all the nastiness written about them yes, some of which is evident on here. A sense of duty, yes, in the face of little thanks from some.

Love?
As far as I'm concerned, it's a preference over a different state system, many of which seem to be failing.

Lathyrus3 Sat 21-Dec-24 15:47:06

I don’t quite understand what the Prime minister has to do with anything.

Yes he has experienced poverty in the past but he doesn’t now. His experience for a number of years now has been one of practically unlimited wealth which has pretty much been spent all on himself and the life he wants to lead now.

He’s as much out of touch with ordinary people as as anyone who inherited it.

Oreo Sat 21-Dec-24 15:53:15

I don’t think Starmer has experienced poverty at any time in his life.

Allira Sat 21-Dec-24 15:54:04

Perhaps your anger and bitterness would be better directed at those responsible for the NHS, the care sector etc ie successive governments.
Much of the care sector is owned by private equity companies and they should be the ones to receive your wrath at your poor pay and working conditions. Governments, too, for allowing that to happen.

However, in a Constitutional Monarchy we do have a democratic vote so we have a voice, unlike some other countries.

I'm sorry about your husband and hope he's receiving the treatment he needs.
He is not the only one needing treatment for cancer, it respects nothing and no-one, and, for the most part, the NHS does and can provide the urgent treatment and help patients need. There are support groups too, if you feel you need help to deal with all this.

Harry and Meghan’s Happy Holidays card

Happy Holidays?
That's certainly set the cat amongst the pigeons.

Anyway, this time of year (Christmas to many of us) isn't always a holiday for some.

Bah Humbug.

Norah Sat 21-Dec-24 16:04:08

Appears to me, to be a pleasant happy greeting with photos.

We won't be receiving the greeting, see no need to complain.
