I ve abused a robot 😢

Oh -robots drive me wild! Computers behaving badly too. Once I was alone getting very frustrated with a telephone robot - shouting in case getting loader helped- when may husband returned- rushed up the stairs expecting an intruder and murder scene - I sounded so panicked! No only a machine that could no5 understand my voice!

After 3 goes i ussual say " Oh for God's sake" but more under my breath, but it hears and replies "sorry i didnt catch that"😂

But there are human robots that treat people like dirt funny enough they tend to be in government departments

The last two government helpline people I dealt with were so friendly and helpful I almost jumped in shock! I hadn't been expecting it.

I am relieved to find somebody else who is as averse to robots as I am.

I frequently insult Alexa we bought her to save us work, we get her to do jobs like putting on the kettle or switching on the lights, but all too often she says 'Sorry, I don't know what to do with that instruction', winds me up something chronic! lol

Try asking to “ speak to an agent”. That usually gets you through to a human being pretty quickly.

I was getting really cross with a person during an online chat, my son pointed out to me that it was a chatbot!

One of the funniest posts ever.

I once had trouble paying for parking by phone when the app couldn't understand my voicing of my number plate. In the end I got a parking ticket while I was trying to pay. I appealed as I called the parking warden over for help and she admitted she had just ticketed my car. I had to go to a third appeal and wrote them an essay about it, but I could prove I was trying to pay as I had the texts I received on my phone and the parking ticket was issued between the one confirming my registration on the app and the second text which was rejecting my number plate! Huge palaver over an 80p charge! The whole thing happened as the street lighting was so poor that I read the charge as 50p when it was 80p and thought the machine wasn't working when I paid 50p! Some new technology is really not an improvement! I probably did shout down the phone!

Bluebelle of course you've got sn accent. RP is an accent, just not a regional one. Try Alpha Bravo Charlie etc.
But I know what you mean about the bots. The ones I hate are the chatbots which just send you round in circles.

Apparently if you use offensive language you will transferred to to real person but not sure I want to do that - might get put on a black list.

I just kept saying no when it kept asking if it was correct. Eventually, it gave up and transferred me to a real person.

My husband does it deliberately for that very reason. He talks in a way that it could be sensible but it's nonsense and he gets transferred to a real person in the same way that another cauliflower is over the canal when it rains each lane on the motorway before Tideswell happens. It's quite funny and it works. AI sucks!

I did once ask a lady on the phone if she was a real person.
She said that she was though I'm still not convinced.
I did apologise because it's a terribly rude question.

My blind daughter uses Siri all the time. She doesn't have an accent but Siri often turns one of her phrases into 'It was a f***ing lovely day.' We've had many a giggle about it. 😄

I muttered “stupid machines” when Siri popped up on my iPad - (unbidden might I add) she replied “that’s not very nice”!😲

I use the NATO alphabet to give spellings. This is for robots and people. I learned it a long time ago in an IT context and now do it automatically

Ahh the frustration of living in 2025! I understand it well.
