She and Peter Murrell are divorcing.
I wonder who gets to keep the campervan?

At the coronation service I asked who she was as I hadn’t come across her before. Very feisty and opinionated. Likely a fun person privately but not a good public persona.

I have no respect for Sturgeon.

At least you got her surname right.

Aveline Tue 14-Jan-25 09:01:38

Granniesunite- I should do - she's publicised herself enough.

Seriously? Hadn’t come across her before?
I know Oz is the other side of the world, but she was Scotlands First Minister for 8 years until 2023.
TBH I had forgotten whether she was there or not, I suppose former Leaders were invited along with PMs.
Did you recognise Hamza Yousaf in the Coronation footage?

ViceVersa Tue 14-Jan-25 09:21:08

If you're going to criticise someone for not knowing who Nicola Sturgeon is, then you could at least spell Humza Yousaf's name right.

RosiesMaw2 Tue 14-Jan-25 10:06:48

My apologies to Humza Yousaf .
I shall sit in the corner, (Pedants’ Corner) of course in contrition and shame.

Aveline Tue 14-Jan-25 10:09:28

Humza who? That's politics!

Aveline Tue 14-Jan-25 10:17:57

She's moved in with Val McDermid.

I don't think Nicola Sturgeon attended the King's Coronation. Although she's a privy councillor l don't think she was invited.

Grandmabatty Tue 14-Jan-25 10:49:52

Nicola Sturgeon would have had no official role at Charles' coronation as she had resigned by then. I can find no evidence that she attended in a private capacity. She was First Minister when the queen died so it may have been the Queen's funeral you are thinking of Nanna8.
Regardless, I consider this a tasteless thread which, of course, was gleefully jumped on by those who dislike her politics.

This is all smoke and mirrors. What I want to know is why is Operation Branchform taking so long? Also, if I was an SNP member ( I'm not) where is the £600,000 of missing money? SNP members paid that money and I don't understand why they are not demanding to know where it is/ what it was spent on. Why is no one investigating the original auditors. They did not seem to be auditing anything Where is the £61m of the farmer's money? People are not asking the right questions.

nanna8 Tue 14-Jan-25 11:28:40

Where’s Scotland ?

Joking of course- my granddaughter had a DNA test and is nearly 50 % Scottish ( me,only 15) . Our closest friends are Scots, they are gorgeous people.

I thought that was Yorkshire!

Apparently, although I don't necessarily agree. 😀

Aveline Tue 14-Jan-25 12:03:05

Might as well be these days Allira

Nobody knows what goes on in a marriage apart from the two people in it. It's not a humorous subject either

Totally agree, a sad occasion for any couple and not an occasion for gossip.

GrauntyHelen Tue 14-Jan-25 12:52:10

What a nasty thread It's sad whenever a marriage ends and not funny

Aveline Tue 14-Jan-25 13:20:13

That marriage has been over for years. The cynical nature of it's being announced to try to deflect from what she'd been saying last week about Alex Salmond is what is so infuriating. The woman has no shame.

SaxonGrace Tue 14-Jan-25 13:24:09

They both let Scotland down

Aveline Tue 14-Jan-25 13:32:22

They did

Wyllow3 Tue 14-Jan-25 13:32:59

That's being debated in the papers atm, it depends who you read and believe.

Ramblingrose22 Tue 14-Jan-25 14:04:37

Has the investigation into Murrell's finances and the donations to the SNP that their Treasurer got no answers about reported yet?

If it hasn't, I can't help wondering if Nicola has found out what the report will say and is determined to distance herself permanently from her DH.

Mojack26 Tue 14-Jan-25 14:28:04

Heard it from a reliable source, a few years ago, that it was a 'sham' marriage anyway.....
