I don’t know how they did it, and have nothing but admiration for them. Wrongs were done by the army, the government of the time, as well as by the IRA and other factions.
Of course wrongful imprisonment is incompatible with human rights laws, and however much people may disagree with Adams’ politics if we start to pick and choose which humans have rights it is a slippery slope.
I don’t know enough about the detail to comment further, but think that using this to make another cheap dig at the government is pretty low. Having said that, Reform are not in favour of the HRA, are they? Terrifying.
