What do you think of Labour so far?
Yes 14 years of ‘chaos and division’ with the Tories and so 6 months isn’t long by comparison.

But how do you feel they’re doing?
Anyone with voter’s remorse or is it still too early to tell?
Are you optimistic about 4 more years with them or are you disappointed?

My income is my state pension and a small csp pension left to me by my husband who died 35 years ago. I was widowed under 40 with two children and had to go out to work in dead end poorly paid work I am just above the threshold for pension credit. Just who are you to judge me?

Yes, it’s weird isn’t it Beeches. I don’t understand it myself but hey, ho🤷‍♀️

Beeches Tue 14-Jan-25 19:14:05

Extraordinary really that anyone in their right mind wants authoritarian fascist leaning leadership over common sense compassionate leadership but I guess that’s the endlessly fascinating diversity of opinions!

Not hiding.
It’s not News. It’s a discussion. “Are you happy/not/buyers remorse?”

Anyway, absolutely no voters remorse from me. Why would there be?

I would like the Labour government to go even further with more Socialist policies to redistribute wealth but, it’s early days, and I’m so happy to have a left leaning government.

Keir Starmer has my full support - he’s the most decent PM we’ve had for many, many years.

FGT it's nothing to be proud of so your response tells us all we need to know.

You remind me of my mother.

I remember thinking during the pandemic when the Tories were in power, that the Labour Party then didn't have a clue what it was doing. I remember Kier Starmer claiming that one of Marcus Rashford's ideas was his. He was later corrected. My opinion of the party hasn't changed hardly at all since those days.

You don't have to read them or contribute.

It's possible to start a thread yourself.

They are wreckers.

They are doing a good job of ruining our society, our economy, our aspirations for our AC and grandchildren and our hopes for the future of the UK

They are however doing a good job of catapulting the UK into 3rd world status

Following the Globalists/bankers (or who ever the top dogs are) agenda.
It is my opinion the Conservatives softened us up, and this lot intend to finish the job.
Although it could be that the only people attracted to becoming an MP, are psychopathic, numpties, take your pick.

Happy New Year karmalady :-)

Not everybody knows their comics, for sure. Dennis and Beryl always get away with it and triumph in the end, which rather blows the point of the original post. They aren’t in the same comic either.

Good job I’m not participating on ‘Mastermind’. 😁

eazybee Tue 14-Jan-25 17:27:35

They don't use 'working class' any more; it is always 'working people' so if you don't work you are not entitled to all the benefits AI is going to deliver.

I have never been much impressed by Labour generally, but I am genuinely surprised at how inept this present group is. The Conservatives destroyed themselves by infighting, and rash promises which they were unable to keep, not entirely all their fault, Stuff Happens, which Labour is now experiencing.

The landslide which has given Labour so much power is the result of tactical voting; anything to keep Conservatives out which resulted in the loss of some good MPs, and and some inadequate replacements. Plus an increasingly difficult world situation.
Also, a Prime Minister dedicated to attacking anything he considers smacks of privilege, unless of course it is freebies for himself, his wife and his children.

I’m really that silly. 😁

Clearly. The LP 'professes to stand' for everyone. The days when 'labour' meant manual work and the LP was the party of manual workers are long gone. My understanding is that the LP has more university-educated members than the Tories. The difference may be that the Tories are clearly not in support of workers (ie those who work for others) as is clear from their reluctance to increase the minimum wage, and to tax wealth and inheritance rather than earned income.

It's interesting that those who criticise them for not supporting 'the working class' are never willing to say who it is to whom they refer.
