I wasn't sure whether to put this into Chat or News and Politics but I was wondering whether anything Trump has said has made you laugh.

I heard my favourite Trumpism this morning -

"“There are people coming in with tattoos all over their face … typically, you know, he’s not going to be head of the local bank”.

He has a point, I think.

funny? not really, Sick yes- he says Native Indians can be rounded up as they are not American Citizens sad

What I did find is that Trump has wiped out whole slews of initiatives for US native Indians becuase they were funded under DEI department.

He has also he signaled policy directions that affect Native Americans. Among them are proposed cuts to Medicaid, changes that affect Native foster care, and reductions in protected lands

Yes that is what Nazi's do, the first step is to say to the majority these are the problems and find a scapegoat. Crime and economic conditions are a start. Then point fingers create artificial correlator links then move to false causal links. Then identify the said groups, then as per Nazi philosophy put them in camps..... we all know what happens next as part of any final solution.

May be ask the mexican preganant women at the southern border what they think ? Or the Gazans walking back home to their exterminated neighbourhoods ?

Claremont I'd like to read up on that as couldn't find it.

Artois, this man is a leader. It's the direction in which he is leading which I find troubling.

Madmeg Fri 24-Jan-25 23:34:40

I've never liked the man (?) but this time round he seems to have lost a lot of his pzzazz (sp?) and apart from the stupid uneducated remarks he seems to have aged a great deal, particularly in his speech, which used to be strong and clear but now seems to be much weaker. Seems he is struggling to get his brain in gear - any gear.

A long way from the words on the Statue of Liberty.......#

“Give me your tired, your poor,
Your huddled masses yearning to breathe free,
The wretched refuse of your teeming shore.
Send these, the homeless, tempest-tossed to me,

How on earth did the USofA end up with such a vicious, hateful, hating person as Trump???

Hear hear… he is SCUM! He will ‘rule’ the US like a Mafia boss getting others to do his dirty work and there will be no accountability for HIM. One of the first things he did was get rid if the ETHICS clauses… he grifted out those $TRUMP meme coins 2 days before the inauguration (as did Melania) and is now billions richer .crypto ‘coins’ that have NO investment value and that is actually explained…but idiot peoples still buy them. I dread to think of him as President with no one to explain ‘unethical’ or ‘immoral’ to him …cos they wouldn’t dare.
That droning voice, the pouty lips, his general demeanour has me going close to the TV with a V sign and shouting at him. 🤮
Laugh… No …as others have said he’s too dangerous to be laughed at!

Though I have to say some of the ‘anti-trump ‘ cartoons do have me in stitches!

I find him mesmerising. Whether you agree or not, he is someone who compels you to listen- similar to Farage. They have a gift. Sadly, not many of our politicians have this ability these days. Starmer is someone impossible to listen to, and so was Kamala Harris, shriek, shriek. It would be good to get a combination of a really good, caring politician and that ability to speak . One day, perhaps.

I guess that is the danger of populism. People being mesmerised by someone they hear as a compelling speaker, without sufficiently analysing the content of the message and recognising the implications of what is being said.

Curlywhirly Sat 25-Jan-25 07:49:45

Oh nanna8 I'm afraid I can't agree that Trump is compelling to listen to - I have to switch channels when he's on TV, I can't stand to listen to him bragging (the biggest you've ever seen, the best in history, like never before etc, etc, all rather pathetic for a grown man).

nanna8 Sat 25-Jan-25 08:00:41

I just love his positivity as against the miserable stuff you get in the UK. I can’t stand the constant misery and blame game that the current lot are hooked on. Just miserable.

Had more of a laugh at some of the things Biden & Harris have said tbh 🤣

I have to agree, turn on our politicians, & it’s the same old 22 million black hole tale 😩 yet they are doling out millions for this & that & other, that’s not necessary helping people in this country!

I think a lot on here are mesmerised by KS, can’t think why 🙄

Oooh dear, on deporting Harry from the States:
I don't want to do that.
I'll leave him alone. He's got enough problems with his wife. She's terrible.
