Lemon curd is very easy to make - much nicer than the shop bought variety.
Reforms response to Rachel Reeves’ heckler.
So pleased I found lemon curd and orange curd this morning. Thought it was long gone. So pleased only wish I could find Milo drink

Orange curd ....... Fortnum and Mason / Amazon.
Leo/ Batchelors dried peas ......Ocado/Amazon.
Milo....... Ocado/Amazon/Sainsburys.
For a long while after it disappeared from Supermarket shelves I searched for PanYan pickle. Occasionally friends eiukd find it for me. One actually found a catering size in a wholesalers. I miss it but it's definitely gone now.
Looked everywhere for Colemans onion sauce mix and was told it is no longer made. I have now found it on Amazon
Very disappointed that the new Caramac doesn't really taste like the original. On the subject of curd, NT shops usually have a passion fruit one, it's absolutely gorgeous 😍
Still made me laugh! Thank you! I haven’t seen Surprise Peas for years but again I have found Milo in my Asian/African shop.
I found Horlicks tablets in B & M but in a tin rather than a roll. They don't taste the same though and are a bit hard for my teeth now!
I used to love Aztec bars.
I used to use Caramac in a recipe called Toffee Coffee Mousse, it was really nice. I must make it again now I have rediscovered Caramac.
Poundland, Farmfoods and Home Bargains sell it too. I don't know if my tastes have changed, but it is now too sweet for me.
I have just found out that Iceland stock Caramac which I thought had been discontinued.
My brother worked in an ice cream factory during the holidays.
I remember him telling me about Neopolitan night when extra staff had to be on hand as it was more difficult to make. He might know something.
I think you are probably right in thinking that it changed because people liked chocolate. Also, if the green were pistachio, it was probably cheaper to use chocolate flavouring.
As I live abroad, I have to make my own lemon curd. It's so easy, I wonder why anyone would ever buy it ready-made.
I'll see if I can make other flavours, too. Don't hold your breath, though, we don't eat much sweet stuff these days.

Neapolitan ice cream was always vanilla, strawberry and chocolate as far as I can remember.
Originally, Neopolitan ice cream was pink, white and green; a pastel version of the Italian flag, hence the name. It became pink, white and brown because people like chocolate ice cream I suppose.
I can't remember what flavour the green bit was but I do remember Neopolitan being these colours.
Yes, I knew those were the original colours, but I can only ever remember having the vanilla, strawberry and chocolate version. I wonder why it changed? Was it just because people liked the chocolate, or was it easier to make or something? Perhaps someone will know.

I buy dessert mixes (various brand names)
lemon meringue
crème caramel
egg custard
cheesecake mix
blancmange various flavours
All often not available in the shops but they are available on Amazon. A blast from the past easy to prepare and a lovely finish to a meal.

Years ago, my mum made something called ‘caramel pudding’. It was made exactly the same way as blancmange and looked the same. It firmed a skin when cool, just like b’mange. My mum used to grate Cadbury’s Dairy Milk over the top. The thing was, it had the most amazing (in my opinion) flavour which I have never tasted since. Caramel pudding when I google it now is a slimy, for want of a better word. It neither looks nor tastes anything like the Caramel pudding I remember, which, as I said looked like blancmange. I think it was made by Peek Freans but can’t be sure.I would give a lot to be able to find this again.
Does anyone else remember this? Better still, does anyone know if it’s still sold anywhere?
Was it made by Greens?
It was like a creme caramel but larger, not so dense. Now called Sweet Carmelle but I haven't bought it for many years.

Am sure I’ve seen Milo in Sainsbury.
Lemon curd can be bought almost anywhere in England if not the whole of the UK.The M&S one is horrible but Bonne Maman make a good one.
Orange curd from garden centres.

Yes I remember both the ordinary white inside the frys chocolate creams but then the one our family had - as there were 5 of us were the different flavours for each bit so
coffee, orange, white, strawberry . think they were right but cant remember the other one. Probably mint I would thing. My favourite has it has every remained - was the coffee bit
Do your remember also I think it was called Neapolitan ice cream and it was white - vanilla , pink - strawberry/ - and a green colour but can remember the taste of that one.
The idea was to have wavers and cut a slice across all three flavours, but of course we awkward ones preferred to cut it the other way so we wach got the flavour we liked!
I remember eating those at the cinema. I think the green was pistachio. It was my favourite bit.

I'm pleased I haven't made them up.
I never bought or used Surprise peas but definitely remember there was such a product. If I may lower the tone I still remember the joke "what do you get from Surprise peas in winter?" Answer"Chapped legs" Sorry and I'll get my coat....
If I see them I'll definitely buy some and give them a try.
I remember surprise peas.
Tiny shrivelled green things which magically puffed up when cooked
I remember them as being delicious when frozen peas were
not yet available.
I had forgotten all about them.
