Usual routine on the bus to Bicester , say hello to some people I know , return lunch and watch cycling on TV .
Health Front OK ,
Take Care,
Mick

Ah. Thank you grandMattie I didn’t mean to pry. I genuinely didn’t understand about when probate might be needed. Very kind of you to explain. 😘

Good afternoon, Michael12 and everyone!

It was tipping down in buckets again yesterday, I loved it and love being out in it!

From Sainsburys TU clothing I recently bought myself some more leggings, PETITE Plain Leggings 2 Pack, black, Ltuc144416523, only £10.00 so that was another £20.00 well spent! I basically live in them! They're extremely comfy!

I had a bit of an accident last night! As I turned over in bed, flipped the top left corner around so I could move, HOW did I manage to knock off from my bedside table a lamp, 3 large metal water bottles, a small teddy bear and a small fake plant just with the one corner?! The lamp and bottles made a right racket! My next-door neighbours are in their 90s so I hope I didn't accidentally wake them up!

DH had done everything he could to put all in my name so I wouldn’t need probate. Unfortunately, he forgot ERNIE.
The people there —lied— —to— —me— told me that if I waited two years after his death, the funds would be released without probate. Total fabrication!
So I needed to fill in all the forms to get my money back. Again, I was failed by the system… ah well! All good things come to those who wait, I’m told.

Good morning Mick and all from a brightening northwest coast.
I’m on the desk at the music club today as my other committee member is not over her horrible Norovirus. I usually sing as well. I’m still off colour myself, so it’s going to take a Herculean effort this afternoon…

Congratulations to the Sars💐 and thoughts to all🌺

Good morning, it’s dull and wet here in Co Armagh
Yesterday we stuck the bit of polycarbon that flew off the greenhouse in the storm , with gaffer tape , it will do till we get a new panel , the door is back on too , but it needs new panels too
Back to sewing knitted squares into a blanket , it needs to be finished and sent to a good cause , but I’m not sure what or where ?
Best wishes for a decent day to all

Just popping in to wish everyone a Good Morning from a lovely blue sky Dunblane. Sorry to hear you are not so well again Marydoll take it easy. Hope your mum picks up Grandmabatty you have a very difficult time with her, good thought about your school library work. Expensive visit to the dentist yesterday I am not a good patient I had a very poor dentist as a child and think it feeling stems from there. Just about to go out and meet DSisiL for coffee at a cafe beside the Wallace monument it should look lovely today. Best wishes to those suffering or with problems.

Thank you for replying karma. It does seem a bit of a minefield for some and yet I have many friends who didn’t need to do it at all. Maybe there are wealth thresholds? Or maybe not. Google is my friend I should educate myself.

karmalady Tue 28-Jan-25 09:38:39

probate is usually needed FGT, I had to do it but did it myself via an online form. It took 6 weeks for me to be granted. Very very important to keep full records, which makes the whole process easier. Cost me very little compared to solicitor. I had to go and swear an oath

The grant of probate is an essential bit of paper

Happy anniversary Sars enjoy your tea ☕️

Sar53 Tue 28-Jan-25 09:35:58

Thank you for all the congratulations. We have been together for almost 17 years but only married for 6, a long engagement !!!!! xx

I thought FAB cafe meant “For anybody”. I do find some of these abbreviations baffling

Gingster thank you bringing a smile to my face this morning 😂

Good morning from a damp, grey NE with a forecast for rain all day.
I was pleased to hear DS had internet restored on Sunday night, it had been off since Friday morning. Both DS and DIL work from home part of the week so it was a great inconvenience.
Managed to stir my stumps and made a big pot of carrot and sweet potato soup, will be my lunch for a few days.
Happy anniversary to the Sars, enjoy your afternoon tea.
Have a good day everyone.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Tue 28-Jan-25 09:12:10

I never understood why some deaths generate a need for probate whilst others don’t. One of life’s mysteries (to me).

Kalu Tue 28-Jan-25 09:06:03

Good morning all. I haven’t looked at the forecast but so far, it’s dry with patches of blue sky.

Goodness GM Probate is going on forever for you. Completion isn’t far off for us and I will be relieved when it’s finally done and dusted.
Happy anniversary Mr&Mrs Sar. Enjoy your afternoon tea with trips down memory lane. 🥂🍾
Welcome back Ash
Your sweater sounds lovely Karma. I do like the idea of matching hat and scarf, a complete look.

Best wishes to all for a good day.

Back home for a quick bit with dh 🫢
The mind (well, mine) boggled at that Gingster!
I think you just missed an ‘e’ there 😂

Good morning from County Durham.

Wet and grey outside today, hope it brightens up a little in the afternoon.

Yesterday I took GD1 to the hospital for her broken ankle appointment. Another x Ray and it appears there's no damage done further up her leg. A further appointment next week and hopefully we'll learn more. At the moment it's crutches with the boot. She spent the remainder of the day with us to the joy of the three younger GC who were surprised to find her here after school. They'll repeat that joyful feeling later as we'll be collecting GD1 from school today.

Wishing all a peaceful day.

EkwaNimitee Tue 28-Jan-25 08:49:37

Good morning Mick and everyone from bright and dry Carlisle.
I went into town yesterday to collect two separate prescriptions that the pharmacy had texted were ready. One wasn't, the second time that's happened so, annoyingly, I'll have to go in again later in the week. A good job I'm not desperate for it.
It was a beautiful, sunny day when I walked about town but once home with my mid-morning coffee the dark clouds gathered and we had rain. Fortunately gone by late afternoon.

I booked myself a spring mini-break in the Isle of Wight. I lived there once as a 6 year old, in flats in an area now enclosed by Parkhurst prison. I shan't be paying a visit down Memory Lane!

Today, a bit of vacuuming and laundry and then we'll see. I finished a book yesterday but think I'll just catch up with some magazines today.

Happy anniversary to the Sars!

And here's wishing all you poorlies better days.

Good morning from Shropshire.Dry at the moment but a mixed forecast for the rest of the day.

We’ve had a quiet few days recovering from our few days in St David’s for my cousins funeral. An emotional time and three days of catching up with family, mine and DH’s as they live in that area.We are not used to so much talking!

Today I am going to Liverpool with DD1, DGD and DD’s MIL to see the Strictly live tour.We will collect DGD from school and head straight there. We will have to leave an hour later than planned as DGD has her last choir rehearsal before the Young Voices concert at the Coop arena next week.DD said she has worked the timings and it should all fit in😳

Thoughts of all with mountains to climb.Life can be tough.

Have the best day you can everyone🦩

Taichinan Tue 28-Jan-25 08:42:18

Good morning all. It's a lovely calm morning on the Angus coast. I see from my news app that one of the Red Top newspapers is predicting a huge wall of snow for Scotland. Although all their hyperbole is annoying and unbelievable I've come to realise that there's often a grain of truth in there. I wonder if we'll be lucky and miss this too!
Yesterday's tai chi committee meeting went well. I was able to follow everything that was said, meaning that my new hearing aids are an improvement on my previous ones, thank goodness
I hope you enjoy your new recliner Mick.
My DGS1 had his meeting with his oncologist yesterday and were given until this morning to decide whether or not they will bank sperm for when they want to try for a brother or sister for Li'l Ollie. DS and I have both said we will fund it if need be which takes some of the pressure off the decision for them.
Off to tai chi now, so have a good day everyone x

I keep meaning to ask you grandMattie - what does the FAB stand for, at your church cafe?

It's a hideous acronym, FGT2. FAB stands for Friends Aging Better and is run by AgeUK in Bristol. I don't know if it is countrywide.
As it takes place in the church, I host it on its behalf.

cornergran Tue 28-Jan-25 08:33:02

Happy anniversary Mr and Mrs Sar. Afternoon tea sounds just the thing.

ginny Tue 28-Jan-25 08:32:12

Good morning everyone.
Meat pie to make this morning and a bit of ironing.
We are collecting DGSs from school and pre-school this afternoon. We’ll play some games, give them dinner and then Son in Law will collect them. DD3 is away for a few days.
Get well wishes for those who are poorly and a good day wished for all.
