Times article claim that Waspi women are tone deaf and should read the room
I always have to laugh as my friend and I are exactly the same age. And she’s always going on about how she’s an old codger
We are both 67! She not joking! I’m always saying speak for yourself at 67 in my mind I’m still a spring chicken. We might be pensioners but in my mind far from old ( blooming cheek)

Our chronological age might be younger or even older than our biological age. I see it a starting number.

Old is someone older than me!
Definitely! 🤣
I'm 57 and have two under 3 yr old granddaughters.
My hair is naturally grey and I have arthritis ( hips akready replaced and knee going the same way!)
My mother is a young 74, similar health problems ( probably hereditary) she berates me about being 'old before my time'!
She may be right as technically coukd be sisters but I rally am done with hair dye and chasing mt tail, so to finish, I'm not overweight, I eat healthily and excercise as far as I can.
I work and do my best. I don't feel old although I'm told I look old ! 😄👍
Next day not best

I'm 73. A few days ago I began a major cleaning out of our kitchen cupboards. Felt great. Yesterday, Long Covid hit again. I thought I'd got over it but I feel absolutely exhausted - not sleepy; just absolutely shattered. And now I feel old....😒
That's not just Long Covid, although that must make it worse. I'm almost 73 and I get days when I can do lots of stuff but then suffer the best day. Also when I'm feeling energetic I sometimes forget how old I am and try doing things I can't do anymore like cartwheels and jumping off things. 🤣
Always at least 5 years older than me. I'm 72 almost 73. Although most of the people I mix socially with are younger than me some by 10 years or more. All my daughters and grandchildren count me as old and to them I am. Although I'm healthier than two of my daughters, both in their 50s at the moment.
I'm 62 and horrified that I've just been referred to the geriatric clinic at the hospital, couldn't they call it something else?
I remember reading somewhere that at 65 you’re considered elderly’. I was frankly shocked. I’m 69, I admit I’m getting on, but to me, elderly conjures up a mental image of an old person bent over with a walking stick! Who agrees?
Aldom
I agree with Kate49, although I am several years older than she is. I'm just me.
I don't go along with what Mae13 says. We live in a time where many illnesses are curable and if not curable, treatable. We are fortunate to be able to hear, using hearing aids. Cataract surgery is common place.
Our generation are not sitting in the corner, blind and deaf at 65/70. Or worse still, dead by 63/64 of illnesses such as diabetes, which caused my maternal grandparents deaths at that age.
We have much to be thankful for.
I think there is some element of exageration in what you say Aldom. My parents generation was the one that served durining the war. My father certainly benefitted from cataract surgery, but both parents lived reasonably fit and healthy until 85 and 92, respectively as did and do many in their generation.
I am going to the funeral of one of my aunts next week, she was 97, and another aunt, my fathers youngest sister, is still living at 97, although she did move into a care home a few months ago. I am 81.
Most of my friends had parents who lived well into their 80s. The odd exception, obviously, but noticeable because it was exceptional to die at 58, as my closest friend's father did.
I do so agree Freespirit55. I must stop saying to myself "When I was sixty I could spend all day in the (large) garden and not have a single twinge, and went for long walks". Now I'm nearly 85, have broken both hips due to osteoporosis, am breathless with heart problems. But when I'm sitting down doing my word games, Wordle, Dordle, Waffle, Quordle, etc I still feel 60.
I’m turning 66 soon and getting my state pension. It feels strange ….
But there’s life in the old dog yet …!!!

Was watching mark bridges the other day and according to him and I so agree...if you fall over and people laugh you're still young but if you fall over and someone offers to pick you up your old
I like that one... haven't fallen over lately so I'm not sure about myself (57).....lol
Like another person on here said I feel old when the grocery store cashier asks if I need help out to the car. I managed to lift the heavy bags into the cart so I don't know why she thought I couldn't manage. It was thoughtful of her to ask but it made me feel old. My doctor's office has given me a questionaire to fill out when go for a checkup since I turned 70. Questions like are you able to dress yourself?, do you need help using the toilet?,. Talk about making you feel old! Anyway I tend to have the same thought as the lady who wrote that old was anyone older than her.
It’s definitely how you feel, my body is old do to health issues but in my mind at 64 still want to do things I did years ago. Unfortunately my condition will just get worse so I’m thankful for what I’m able to do
When I turned 70 a couple years ago, I said to my children, "Well, now I'm old". It's because if you hear of anyone dying in their 60's, people will always say "Oh, that's so young!" But if someone dies and they are 70+, they will say, "Ah well, they had a good life." At least, that's my interpretation.
An ‘old lady’ who was a neighbour of my grandmother when I was a child, used to say every single time you saw her,
‘Seventy-five! And everybody says I’m wonderful!’ 😂
I thought of that when I hit 75 last year.
I hope I’ll never be old enough for people to start telling me I’m wonderful for my age!
Some one who is 10 years older than me. So that’s over 85. But I think I am fortunate as I am reasonably healthy in that I can still move around. However, I do get twinges so I hope they don’t get more permanent.
95
It's made me think of my nan.
She was being discharged from hospital. The nurse said she was going to get her up and help dress her. My nan said "I'm not old enough yet that I can't put my own knickers on thank you, maybe next year but not now" She was 100 🤣

Old is someone older than me!
You got it !!!!
🤣🤣🤣🤣
Luckily the old man is older than me so I'm highly motovated to keep him alive .........
I agree with the late, gorgeous Roger Moore who said he always thought of 'old' as being 15 years older than whatever age he was at the time!
Until about two years ago when arthritis started playing me up, I did indeed feel like a 'spring 🐔' ( I am 63) Had a knee replacement 3 weeks ago and I now feel ancient! Hopefully once recovered I'll feel young once more!
Old is always ten years older than you are!
