I am sorry that various Kitcheners are having their own trials and tribulations. It’s a slog sometimes, to keep going but we must try and do our best, and find joy in small things. Today for me, it was in a NTS garden, where signs of spring abounded. The superb gingerbread was also a tonic!

Hi, all I can’t begin to understand Doodle but send a big, enveloping hug.
We forget utbb don't we that even at those ages, they’re just children, however stoic they’re being, my heart goes out to them and you.
Similarly Henry Susan, not long a toddler, very brave.
A lazy day here, it’s so cold; with a small garden brook not much to do, but I’ll be sowing seeds in the greenhouse soon.
I had a long photo call with a friend then resisted buying more seeds/plants online, I’ve still got the £100 garden voucher I won online, but it’s too early. (She said sitting on hands)

So much sadness and worry in our kitchen just now, I'm sending much love and prayers to all who need/ wish them, hoping that we all get the wisdom and strength to deal with that life throws at us, and that things improve soon. 💕🙏
Grandmabatty, I waved 👋 at you as I passed the Kelpies this morning on my way to do the hospital trip. Unfortunately things did not go according to plan and the operation did not take place today. Very disappointing for the family member concerned, back to a waiting game, should hear more tomorrow.

We have agreed a truce, I am not an easy patient and he is not a natural nurse. We are getting by, and smiling through.

Hi kitchen pals, it’s been a bright sunny day up here in Inverness
I managed a couple of hours in the garden this afternoon, double fleecy leggings, 3 top layers, hat, coat and gloves and I was sorted 🥶 it wasn’t too bad in the sunshine so that area of the garden got most of my attention. I enjoyed being outside in the fresh air and seeing the signs of spring everywhere
So pleased Henry is doing so well Susan, you must all be so proud of him

Cold again here today. We had brunch downstairs with Himself’s older brother and his wife it was so enjoyable spending time with them.

The pub on the station platform over the road is coming along nicely. New owners have had a team of builders working on it since November. Knocked everything back to bare brick, walls down, plasterers in. It was always a nice pub, until it wasn’t. We hadn’t been in for a couple of years. However the grand opening is in two weeks’ time and we can’t wait to see the reformation!

I worked in the school library again today. I'm really enjoying it. Then I went to the public library to borrow books. Once home, I emailed the office of public guardian the legal aid information they asked for, so another step along the road. When I started this last March, my lawyer said it could take a year and we are nearly there already. Fingers crossed for the finish line and then I can get mum in a care home. The hospital are very good to her but it's terribly institutional. Mince and tatties for dinner. Enjoy your evening all

I have been an “ irregular “ recently , life has been and continues to be challenging but I always read this lovely thread.

Susan I remember when you posted a photograph of Henry when he was “a half” on his 6 month day.
I can’t believe he is already five.
My youngest Grandchild is 14 today.
He and his brother, 16 in May are having an unbelievably difficult time but he is here for a birthday tea with his Dad, his brother, his half sister and me.
They are both troubled but coping admirably with their lot.

So many poorly people at the moment, my friend’s H had the shivering and very unwell last Friday , she rang the GP as he is 91 and suffering with cancer.
They came out and gave him AB’s as a precaution and 2 days later he was ok.
Hope mr Soop is better now.

everything I want to say.
Soop my hubby had similar shiver episode in December it lasted a few hours .
Sorry you are swamped with worries SueD . Gg you are doing well but take things steady . Hugs to all with worries.

Naughtyneine’s suggestion of writing everything down is a good one cornergran.I also use a different coloured pen to tick items off once I have asked so it’s easy to check you have asked all your questions.I am so sorry the consultant was so dismissive.

I don’t post as often as I would like but read and think of you all often.

My mind is full of dealing with all matters relating to being my mum’s sole POA🤯and also trying to come to terms with the catastrophic errors by her GP and then the medication error caused by the pharmacy.It seems there is no coming back from it for her.In the beginning we had hope but not now.

My daughter and I were talking the other day and remembered how kind and supportive you all were when Henry was so unwell as a baby.He’s five now and at full time school.He is dealing with his allergies really well and advocates for himself most of the time.

TOYA especially those dealing with health issues for themselves or loved ones.

I was sad to read how despondent you sound Corner... It's horrible to feel diminished especially when it's regarding very real pain. Can I suggest write down now exactly what you want to say during the phone call...what answers you are seeking etc and as other things occur to you over the next few weeks add to the list so come the day you will be armed💐

SueD... Try and find a little bit of you time when you can...just to help keep you able to cope with all that's being thrown at you just now. ♥️

Jax... I'm sorry to hear that life has been tricky for your daughter and family and how it resolves itself very soon. Romsey Registry Office looks lovely. Have you got any further with a Mother of the Bridegroom outfit yet?

The joint pain continues but the GP rang very quickly after I emailed yesterday morning and I've to stop taking the Omneprazole...I did suspect that it could be the culprit... I'll have to wait and see if the pain subsides now.

Soop... Another thought to add to the suggestions...could Mr Soop have a UTI... They can cause a high temperature ( shivers) and not always the obvious symptoms.

I popped into Oxford, had lunch and did some shopping. When I got home I made a rich chocolate dessert cake. At the WI AGM next month after the usual business, we will have Puddings and Prosecco. I thought I’d make my contribution now and freeze it.

Sorry, don’t get time to pop in often but I do wish everyone well. Sorry for those who are poorly or have troubles.
Soop I imagine you have a thermometer at home. If MrSoop has a shivering bout again please take his temperature to see if he has a high temperature. Shivering violently and having a high temperature could be a sign of sepsis. My beloved had that a couple of times. As he’s ok but sleepy I doubt if it’s that this time but worth checking in future. I agree with others who think you should contact GP too.

cornergran I’m sorry that your visit to the consultant at the pain clinic was so disappointing. It’s sad that you felt disbelieved but I hope that the telephone consultation will prove more satisfactory and that the consultant will be kinder to you.

Jut popping in, still resting both legs.

The now 10yr old is here for his sleepover.

I have had several beautiful bouquets.

Feeling rather guilty as I should be going to AS3 tomorrow to look after the teens till Sunday, due to not being able to drive and my bedroom there is on the third floor it is not happening. Care is being shared between D-I-L’s mum and our DS4, we are on emergency only alert.

Hello everyone. Goodness you’re all busy. Some poorly, some busy, some just getting on with whatever needs doing whether positive or not . I’ve read all your posts and have been concerned for you and celebrated with you. Delighted you’ve a plan grandmaC7, I’m sure you’ll enjoy visiting both.

I’ve felt a bit bruised since a very difficult consultant appointment at the pain clinic last week. I felt totally diminished and disbelieved. Of course everything I’d wanted to raise fled from my mind. Since then I have emailed a specific question and today had a message to discuss on a telephone appointment. It’s not for a month, my tummy turns over just thinking about it. I’m really cross with myself for managing things so badly.

soop I do agree with charley, Mr Soop does sound to have been very poorly and the GP should know, it would do no harm anyway. I hope mr soop is back to his usual self now.

You sound as I feel sued. Not fun is it? Hope life is kinder to you very soon.
