Stretchy jeans for mature lady!
How to make needle threading easy on my sewing machine
As I closed the last kitchen I feel I should open a new one as I think that Soop is in a predicament with the weather.
So on her behalf I welcome you all to visit and enjoy our new space.
Please feel free to bring your sorrows and worries as well as your joys and happy times.
There is always someone to congratulate and to commiserate.
A newish year and a very new kitchen, a meeting place for all.
I do enjoy reading the news and points of view concerning you lovely lot. I am wearing a smile. Thank you.
Hello kitchen people.
Well, I drove OH to his private appointment in Oxford. He has decided to pay for an operation which may be on the same date in March he was offered at the NHS. He has been offered a particular procedure which the NHS don’t do, which is likely to be more successful.
On the way home we popped into our favourite Farm Shop and went a bit mad! We only intended to buy milk.
Have a good rest of the evening.
FFT2, I love your granddaughter’s hair. My granddaughter has very long hair. I had fun last weekend putting an assortment of plaits into her newly washed hair. The next morning she had waves.
💤💤💤
I was discharged for my knee replacement today and told to chase up the consultant for my hip replacement Maybe I can be bionic before we go to France in September.
They are very cute FGT but I'm biased. Dgs1 was his class legend this week for being inclusive. They get a special medal and stand up to applause at assembly. And he was one of the star writers in the class. I'm very proud of him. Dgs2 is such a character. He loves role play and imaginative play, hence going on holiday. I'm very lucky
P.s. I love the stories about your boys Grandmabatty! One going on holiday and the oldest being the pilot. Too cute! 💙
‘Evening All’.
A very chilly day here and little in the way of sunshine too. My routine optician appointment went well. Nothing needed, phew! Hope your husband’s private appointment today with the urologist went well LLFL. What did he decide re his op - private or NHS? Bet you’re glad you’ve finished being Secretary at the W.I. now, last Minutes typed up. Freedom!
Lovely holiday venue Yia! Glad you’ve finished being both recharged your batteries.
Photo is of L’il Miss’ hair - sprayed with purple after school today for a friend’s party! Ever since born she’s had so much hair! Her crowning glory indeed at just 8y. 🥰
Thank you Yiayia I’ll have a look at that area.
What a shame about the Christmas puddings Grandmabatty I too thought they lasted for ages.
Baltic here down south, little snowflake warning on the car, I’ve just returned a top to M&S, picked up a chicken pie, sleet/rain all the way.
Farm shop and vape shops this morning then Tesco delivered followed by a new bed for Fin, we’ll deliver it tomorrow..
I hope today helped your husband llfl
That looks glorious Yia what a tonic for you both, welcome back brook definitely fleece weather.
MrJ on dinner duty tonight, he’s building up to it with a beer!
What a gorgeous picture Yia thanks for sharing, so pleased both you and your DH could enjoy the warm sunshine
I have to confess that I was still in my pjs at 11am this morning, the time just ran away with me as I’d been sorting post and emptying the suitcase etc. We didn’t have much washing thankfully but it seemed sad putting all the light summer clothes back in drawers and getting the warm fleece lined leggings out again 🥶
Hoping your DHs appointment today has gone well llfl
I’m going to join in with the lazy evening tonight, we’ve a few TV programmes to catch up on and a few Christmas chocolates to finish. A shame the puddings were off grandmabatty I thought they lasted for ages - pleased you had a good day otherwise though and hope your mums doing ok
Favourite salmon and roasted veg for dinner later, there’s lots of fish on the menus in Spain but I couldn’t find much salmon. I didn’t bother with the octopus though - I’m not very adventurous food wise when away!
Lovely that you could visit your godmother redcar despite the hearing challenges
It’s Le Touquet GMD.
Good afternoon, it’s been a bitterly cold day here with frequent rain and sleet showers. The back of my house faces east, so I have had all the blinds and curtains closed since about 2o’clock!
DD2 took me to see my godmother this morning, it’s a bit far for me to drive at the moment. It was good to see her, she’s 99 and very deaf even with her hearing aids in. Conversations are interesting at times! I haven’t done much since I got home, wrapped up DD1’s birthday present and sent a few emails and that’s about it.
llfl I hope that your DH’s hospital visit went well today.
grandmabatty enjoy your lazy evening and the rubbish tv, I think I’ll join you, I may add a hot water bottle and a blanket to keep warm!
Good afternoon Kitcheners. It's been a really cold day with an icy wind here too grandma dinosaur Ladyleftfieldlover I hope all was well with your dh today. Yiayia such a lovely photo. I picked up the boys from school/nursery and both of them had a good day. Came back to my house and dgs2 was determined to play at going on holiday, so he raided my wardrobe for stuff. Dgs1 joined in as the pilot. I'll have to order dressing up clothes. My Dsils's dad called in to see the boys while he was out for a walk with his dog. I was mortified when he told me the mini Christmas pudding I had given him was off. I quickly checked the others and they are mouldy too. It's the last time I will bother with them. I'm going to have a lazy night and watch rubbish on the tv. Enjoy your evening all.
Forgot to say I hope all has gone well for your DH and his appointment today Llfl
Hello Kitcheners. Wow that property looks amazing Yiayia it looks like my kind of place. So pleased it’s given your DH a boost. Can I ask whereabouts in France it is?
Yes brook a sunshine break this time of year is the best for getting through the horrible days of winter. We have an upcoming trip to look forward to.
Seems like you have the good weather up there today soop here in Yorkshire it’s dull and grey with a bitterly cold wind. I’m sitting all cosy doing a bit of admin and catching up with the monthly magazine that came with my online shop. I really ought to get out and up my step count. I should but hey ho ……
Good afternoon Kitcheners. We arrived home a couple of hours ago.It was a lovely few days in France and the weather was kind to us.DH managed very well and it’s given him confidence to do more. The hotel was directly on the beach and the food was excellent, just as I remembered from years ago.
It’s cold and sleeting here awful day.
Hope your comfortable GG
Good your home safe and sound Brook.
Thinking of the Soops.
Cheerful smiles from a sunny and calm Kintyre. Wishing you lovely lot a peaceful and pleasant weekend.
Hello kitchen people
It sounds like lots of you have had a good day!
I spent the morning doing admin - WI stuff and personal things too. I booked the airport bus for the week after next!
OH and I had lunch out. We had three courses each so tonight’s dinner for me was a small bowl of Special K. OH had a bowl of soup.
I am driving OH to Oxford tomorrow for a consultation about his urological problem. He actually has an operation lined up in March with the NHS but is seeing the private consultant too as he’s paid!
Sleep 💤 tight.
Thank you Scapal and Grandmadinosaur, we have had a really lovely time away. It does us both good at this time of year and a little bit of warm sunshine and brightness helps us get through the long winter months{
Pleased you had such a happy date night FGT, Valentines day to look forward to next week 🩷!
We’re safely home now after calling into DD2s on the way back, we usually leave our car there when we’re away as its close to town. She seems to have survived ok whilst we’ve been away - it’s probably done her good says DH! 🫣
Evening everyone. Glad to hear you’re back home safely brook I’ve loved reading about your time in Estepona and am very envious.
Date nights sound good fgt2 We had a date afternoon at a theatre matinee. It was a cheesy juke box musical but great fun with lots of songs from the 80s. Straight from there to meet the family for a birthday meal as it is our son’s birthday today. Now home and DH is watching football 😕
Yes Yorkshire is Gods own country ❤️
‘Evening All’.
We’re back home from our Thursday date night. It was great. We’ve extended it slightly with a decision (mine!) to call in a bar first before strolling to wherever we are dining. Himself and I sat opposite one another in a tiny wine bar, thoroughly enjoying one another’s company. It’s so nice after all these years to do this and have such a lovely evening together.
He said “we never run out of things to talk about do we?”and I said “I love that 52 years on you still make me laugh with your witty one-liners!”. I do look at him sometimes and think ‘I remember you when you were 19, playing football, popular with a crowd of mates’.
“You’re easily pleased” he smiled. 💙
Sorry Grandmabatty but “God's own country” is Yorkshire. It’s well known and indisputable. 😁
Scapa I have a real problem with pacing myself! I'm only going to do an hour tomorrow and I'll cut back next week.
Good to hear your journey back to Scotland went well Brook and you seem to have had a great time. Grandmabatty don’t do to much at a time in the library pace yourself. GrannyGravy sorry to hear about your misfortune you may have a few occasions to go 🤷 in the near future! I hope Mr and Mrs Soop are continuing to be positive they are an inspiration for us all.
DH is cooking pork cutlets, not sure what he is doing with them 🤷♀️
Safe journey Brook
Good to see you’re nearly there brook, probably are by now.
After going for a walk and cleaning the kitchen I flopped this afternoon, pasta sauce awaits the pasta.
Farm shop tomorrow, one of has to stay in as Tesco shopping is coming and we’re awaiting a bed delivery for my daughter!!
