As I closed the last kitchen I feel I should open a new one as I think that Soop is in a predicament with the weather.
So on her behalf I welcome you all to visit and enjoy our new space.

Please feel free to bring your sorrows and worries as well as your joys and happy times.
There is always someone to congratulate and to commiserate.

A newish year and a very new kitchen, a meeting place for all.

A busy day for you grandmabatty a relief for you that your mum is settled in her room at the care home. With the bonus of you being able to walk there in 5 minutes.i hope you have a good weekend with the boys.
I hope that soop is feeling better today.
A lovely warm sunny day here, it really lifted my spirits.i’d ordered some compost to be delivered by the milkman today, which he dumped by my front door. I moved the bags inside the side gates and my back didn’t protest too much. I didn’t feel like going to the garden centre, so pottered about instead. I moved some old equipment from the shed into the garage, ready for a trip to the tip. I need some seed compost so will have to go to the garden centre soon so I can start planting seeds.
I hope that nannytopsy harrigran and used to be blonde all have a better night’s sleep tonight.
Night night .

Good news on your Mum Grandmabatty, phew for you.
I hope soop has seen her GP and has appropriate medication and Mrsoop has some scalp improvement.
Glorious day, bedding washed and dried outside, stretch class held with the windows open, I’ve also got seeds germinating in the greenhouse. But, it’s still only March so I won’t break out the flip flops or sow delicate plants yet, must book a pedicure though.
Fingers crossed those struggling and awake in the early hours have a better night; utbb you’re doing your best in a difficult situation because you care, remember that.

‘Evening All’.

We’ve just done the penultimate day of school trips back and forth. I’m enjoying a large glass of Merlot … much deserved even though I say so myself. I was playing hand claps to ‘Miss Mary Mack’ at 7:40am! 😁 very popular with 8 year old girls in the playground apparently!

harrigran I’m about to watch Ep.5 of ‘Protection’ soon. It’s a cracking drama isn’t it? So tense.

UTTB you are a very caring and thoughtful friend no doubt about it. I hope you get the opportunity to share your concerns, in confidence.

Finally soop I hope you got reassurance at your appointment today. x

Thank you Brook. Mum arrived safely at the care home in the early afternoon. I popped in and she was fine. Her room is nice and the staff seem very nice too. I'm home with a load of paperwork to go through.
I have a busy weekend ahead. I'm having the boys all day on Saturday and overnight, so I need to have enough food in for them. I will go to Aldi tomorrow, then Hobbycraft so they can paint Easter eggs and hang them on a wee tree I have. Then Marks to get biscuits for the hospital staff and a quick trip to the hospital to say thank you. Then a visit to mum and to hand in the paperwork. It's all go at Batty Towers!

Prayers offered at Mass today for your BIL and all the family Kitty.

It was a very hard 40 minutes watching the funeral via streaming this afternoon. I couldn't be with my friend due to work commitments but my heart broke for her and her friends wife. Both loved him. I wasn't happy about the affair ever and she knew that but I wanted to support her in her loss

kittylester Thu 20-Mar-25 12:00:33

Thank you all again, you've been really kind. DH still hasn't quite processed it.

UTBB, I don't think you are guilty of thinking about yourself at all. You go to see your trying friend and you are looking out for her. And, you help your grandsons too.

Grandmadinosaur Thu 20-Mar-25 10:31:21

So sorry to read about your sad news Kitty sending condolences to you and your DH 💐

Usedtobeblonde Thu 20-Mar-25 10:18:10

I am so sorry Kitty for not mentioning your family loss.
I am guilty of just thinking of my self.
The Kitchen is a sad place just now and I send my sincere best wishes to all with sadness and mountains to climb.

Good morning everyone.
I did get back to sleep before 7 and slept until 8:50 amd woke to beautiful sunshine, forecast to reach 17 degrees here today.
I went to see my difficult friend yesterday and she was more difficult than usual.
I came home full of body tension which attacks my shoulders ,up my neck and into my head.
It is like an iron band.
I sat for half an hour until it settled down.
She has some family visiting this weekend and I am going to try to catch her D on her own just to have a word if it is possible.
I will have to be very careful as to what I say as I don’t want it to get back to my friend.
I have always said that she keeps to herself but frankly I am starting to wonder if others have had the same problem with her and keep away but that is making me feel guilty.
She has GS in their 30’s who live about half an hour away but they seldom visit unless asked to do so to do some work for her.
I feel so divided about it.
Have the best day you can everyone and enjoy the sunshine.

Maybe a nap once your delivery has been harrigran.

harrigran Thu 20-Mar-25 06:48:53

No, I could not get back to sleep, watched an episode of Protection on my tablet.
Not too much of a problem as I have nothing important today other than my delivery.

Grandmabatty Thu 20-Mar-25 06:06:59

Nannytopsy, harrigran and usedtobeblonde, I have been awake for a while too. I hope you are all sleeping now.

Usedtobeblonde Thu 20-Mar-25 05:34:12

I am here harrigran I have been awake about 2 hours, reading, pottering on my iPad and trying to doze to no avail.
Too warm and cozy to get up and make tea.
I shall probably get an hours sleep about 7 if I’m lucky.
I hope your painkillers work for you.

harrigran Thu 20-Mar-25 05:14:49

How quiet the kitchen is in the wee small hours.
Just been downstairs and made tea and thinking of taking painkillers for all my aching joints.
Probably won't be able to go back to sleep as I am expecting a delivery but no time slot as yet.
I can hear a blackbird singing, he sounds happy.

Nannytopsy Thu 20-Mar-25 03:08:02

Would it be because asparagus is too green GrannyGravy13? 🤣
I’m awake with aches and pains and it’s only 3am. I was sure it was nearly morning. Haircut later!
I hope you are all blissfully asleep 💤
TOYA.

GrandmaC47 Wed 19-Mar-25 22:16:13

So much sadness and health problems here tonight. Sympathy and wishes for better days ahead 💐.
A lovely day here spurred me into housework. Did the easy bits, cleaner will do the hard stuff tomorrow and I’ll settle to over due paperwork.
Sleep tight everyone.

cornergran Wed 19-Mar-25 20:54:28

I’m so sorry kitty. Thinking of you and mr lester. A sad time.

Oh heck soop that truly doesn’t sound good. My best get well soon wishes for you both and a hope tomorrows appointments are as positive as they can be.

What a shame for your husband yia, get well soon wishes on the way to him.

Apologies if I’ve missed poorly people, there seems to be a lot of under the weatherness in our Kitchen at the moment.

Look after yourselves everyone.

Jaxjacky Wed 19-Mar-25 19:50:59

An impromptu meal out with MrJ, a village pub tucked away in the countryside, delicious hake for me and venison for him, a lot of game is shot locally. The fire is usually lit most of the year and it has a delightful garden, we watched the bats as we walked up to it.
My two dwarf trees arrived today, a cherry and crabapple, now well watered in, I have high hopes.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Wed 19-Mar-25 19:25:14

‘Evening All’.

I’ve been home an hour after watching L’il Miss at her swimming lesson. She is such a neat composed swimmer now. She glides through the water with nary a splash. Himself calls her his little mermaid which makes her smile.

“Are you and grandad taking me to school again in the morning grandma?”
“Sure are”

The alarm is set for 6:30am. Good job I love her. 😂

Naughtyneine Wed 19-Mar-25 19:18:46

I'm so sorry to read your news Kitty. May be rest in peace. X
