Dear Kitchen friends, thank you all so very much for your kind condolences, much appreciated. The boys are a great help, lots of arrangements made, I've hardly had to do a thing. The house is full of floral arrangements and Mass and sympathy cards. Lots of visitors.

Oh, and the Wee Boy fell from a climbing frame and broke his arm. (Hes fine now, very proud of his stooky and sling).
I immediately thought, Wait till his Papa hears about that... then remembered he's not here. I keep going to tell him things... 💔

Oh SueDonim what a shock for you to open that message, assuming it was just a continuation of your ‘chatting’ with your brother. I can imagine it has floored you, beyond heartbreaking. 💐

I too have heard some sorrowful news today. I was told by a friend this morning of a recent death of a neighbour here, most unexpected and then I got a message from someone about her husband with cancer that has upset me and my thoughts are very much with them tonight, sadly.

Our own situation (scan two weeks today) is playing havoc with my emotions. I need to give my head a wobble and Get a Grip.

On a happier note I’ll share this pic that I took this afternoon in Torremolinos. Just look at that blue sky! It was 25°C and I was sat with Himself, me enjoying a crisp Hendricks gin with tonic, ice and a slice of cucumber. Street entertainers were out in force and a delightful hour was spent, enjoying our drinks in the shade, listening to two Spanish guys playing acoustic guitars. Life, in that moment, was perfect. One for the memory box.

I thought I was having a quiet day! Never. I am still looking after the national data base for our WI so had to change the name of the President and take me off. Then my replacement as Secretary popped round for a short tutorial. I had already started making a raspberry buttermilk cake and some small raspberry, honey and almond cakes.

Have a good evening and once again I’m sorry there is so much sadness in the kitchen.

I also had a huge shock late last night when I learnt that my older brother had died. The news was sent from his Messenger account, on which we’d been exchanging texts just two days before, so you can imagine that I was sent reeling when I opened a seemingly normal post. Still trying to assimilate the news.
