I feel I was quite young when the programme was on, georgia

I've always liked things that are magical in some way.

I've not seen the film or anything.

MissAdventure, I always watch The Ghost and Mrs Muir whenever it's on but I don't like the new version they brought out. A film not a sitcom, but brilliant nevertheless.

Does anyone remember My Wife Next Door? I liked that show a lot. Starred John Alderton and Hannah Gordon.

MissAdventure Sun 02-Feb-25 15:24:26

They always asked poor Walter if he'd "been".

I remember a lot of those mentioned and in particular liked The Rag Trade. I vaguely remember the phrase 'Have you been Walter' but not the programme. I'd be interested to see all of these again, even if they're dated and not pc.

Hilda Baker was known to say ‘have you been Walter?’
I don’t think was in a show but just her catchphrase.

I love all the 70s/80s sitcoms. Just Good Friends has just been on again and we have Bless this House on at the moment. It brings lovely memories of my youth.

We love the early episodes of Benidorm. Whoever came up with all those characters was brilliant.

I Dream of Jeannie with Barbara Eden and a young Larry Hagman (J.R.Ewing)

A Bit of a Do with David Jason! I remember exactly what I was doing while watching it - on my first maternity leave. 1989.

I've just watched this, as it's been repeated on one of the many channels showing old shows - it's held up very well, and made me laugh all over again. The same goes for Just Good Friends, which I've probably watched three or four times over the years.

The Liver Birds. Not hilarious but I loved the fashions etc.
Not a sitcom as such but I loved The Clampetts. I still know the words of the theme tune!

Likely Lads

Just looked up “Catch hand” - a very young Mark Eden and Anthony Booth! Both pretty good looking in their day!

Gilly1952 Sun 02-Feb-25 13:36:21

I must be very old too as I seem to remember “Catch hand”. Can’t remember who played the two men, but I think I might have had a crush on one of them!

Does anyone remember The Wackers from the mid 1970’s.
We had some rather ‘rough’ neighbours at that time and my parents nicknamed them the Wackers. Can’t remember anything about the program itself though.

I remember The Grove Family and The Appleyards.
In one of them there was a grandmother who was always demanding food because " I am faint from lack of nourishment."

Oh,I loved 'Angels'.
Is (or was) that a sitcom?

If I am remembering the right programme, I think 'Angels' was about young nurses. It was screened during the 1970s and I don't remember it as being a sitcom.

Does anyone remember Mackenzie.
Was a drama on bbc in 1980.
Mackenzie was a Builder.
Tracey Ullman was in this. I think it was one of her first things she did as an actress.
It was so good.
I managed to find a paperback version of this drama , ,which i still have.
I also liked Diana with Jenny Seagrove.
So many old dramas could be shown.

I re-watched most of the series of The Golden Girls on Amazon recently. I think it's still as funny but the clothes are incredible. I'd forgotten about the shoulder pads!
Bootsie and Snudge was a spinoff from The Army Game, after they had been demobbed.
I recently found Bewitched on LG channel on our LG television and The Beverly Hillbillies on Talking Pictures.
There is also a channel called Rewind TV which shows sitcoms and programmes from 70s, 80s and 90s and another called Thats TV showing some from the 60s too. I spend more time scrolling through channels than watching TV. I tend to record things and watch at a later time.

MissAdventure Sun 02-Feb-25 12:55:52

The title is familiar...

PilgrimQuill Sun 02-Feb-25 12:55:06

Anyone remember Mulberry? Far too short a set of series.

Earthmother9 Sun 02-Feb-25 12:54:05

It was Duty Free.
