My aunt delivered Susan Hampshire's baby in Ramsgate Hospital . She had been on holiday and went into labour before she could get home . My aunt had a signed photo with Susan's thanks on it which my aunt had framed . That was a long time ago .

Wish they would put the old version of Coronation Street with Nora Batty and Minnie Caldwell on again

DanniRae Fri 31-Jan-25 07:46:08

I think Nora Batty was in "Last of the Summer Wine"?

Grandmabatty Fri 31-Jan-25 07:59:42

I loved her in The Pallisers.
The box set was brilliant for long winter evenings - 24 episodes!
I now have it on DVD.

Does anyone remember David Jason in Lucky Fellow? It ran in 1975 when I was going through a really traumatic time and it was a real escape and so funny.

Does anyone remember "Take a Letter Mr Jones" starring John Inman? Very much of its time, a cringe a minute.

eddiecat78 Fri 31-Jan-25 10:38:53

Does anyone remember "Rosie" about a young policeman? It starred Paul Greenwood who also wrote the theme tune. Paul is a friend of mine and a really lovely chap

Remember Emergency Ward 10? Most episodes are lost but a very few remain on YouTube. Seem very staid compared with modern medical series.

annodomini Fri 31-Jan-25 10:47:43

To this day, I can remember having a crush on a young doctor in Emergency Ward 10 - Simon Forrester. I even remember his name!

MissAdventure Fri 31-Jan-25 11:11:36

I used to like 'Sorry!' with Ronnie Corbet(?) in it, 'Rising Damp' and 'Brush Strokes'.

Then there was 'The Liver Birds', 'On the buses', 'Please Sir'. smile

I did not like Ronnie Corbett one little bit. By all accounts, he was an unpleasant person in real life

MissAdventure Fri 31-Jan-25 11:21:16

Well, that's taken the wind out of my sails!

I've always liked him, but not known that about him.

MissAdventure Fri 31-Jan-25 11:30:14

I think it was Keith Barron who was in a sit com where he and his wife were on holiday, ànd made friends with a glamorous couple.

I can't remember the name of it.

A friend of mine appeared in several episodes of The Two Ronnie's and said they were both delightful. Ronnie C taught her how to make bread!

One I loved as a child was ‘The Rag Trade’. With a very young Sheila Hancock and Peter Jones with Miriam Karlin. All set in a garment factory. That is going back many many years to the 1950s I think.

Rainbow1235 Fri 31-Jan-25 11:42:52

Maybee70 she certainly did like a bet on the horses . 😂. I have all the dvds and I will never throw them out even tho u can watch all episodes on iplayer xx

mum2three Fri 31-Jan-25 11:45:50

I'm probably older than most of you but one of my favourites (not a sitcom but worth mentioning) was a series called 'Catch hand'. It was about two men who travelled around the country, taking on temporary work, and the situations they got involved in.

Ooh yes!
It must be really dated now, but it was quite innovative at the time.

MissAdventure Fri 31-Jan-25 12:17:32

What was the one with Nellie Pledge as one of the characters, and the brother in law called Walter?
"Have you been, Walter?"
"Has he been?".
They worked or owned a pickle factory, I think?
