Today is a dull day for me, cleaning, bed changing and packing to move………but I have had a notification that DPD are to deliver a parcel to me!

My life is so dull at the moment the excitement is out of proportion!

I have not ordered anything, no birthday or anniversary and I don’t think I’ve been nice enough to anyone recently to receive a “thank you” gift.

What could it be?

According to the email I should know by 11.45 am.

It could be a scam but they are usually easy to spot.

I had one recently, that didn't go to junk from a well known courier service. They claimed that they had tried to deliver but nobody came to the door, they also said that I needed to fill quite a long, detailed form including my address, DOB and bank details. Once I had done that and paid a small fee, they would arrange re-delivery. The smell of fish had become overpowering by then so I just deleted it.

I hope it is a nice surprise parcel for you, these notifications can't all be scams.

Be careful , There are so many scams out there . If you haven't ordered anything it's likely to be a scam !

Sago I know for certain that there's currently a scam doing the rounds which involves a mystery parcel.
Please ignore any phone calls you may receive to give you information /instructions about the parcel.
Best wishes.

If you know you've not ordered anything then it's a scam. DON'T open the notifications/emails, block and report.

I get those several times a week!

It’s NOT a scam!

How exciting if it's not a scam!

Make sure to let us know what it is grin

A couple of years ago I received a mysterious parcel from M&S.
Addressed to me, no message, it contained a faux potted plant.
I asked around the usual suspects, but no-one claimed to have sent it.
The kicker was that the pot was broken, in 3 pieces, but welded to the faux soil.
I took it to the local M&S food ... to askwould they please tell me who had sent it, and would they replace it due to damage.
The answer was NO in both cases.
Date protection laws were quoted, and the manager had no discretion to replace.
I came away with not so much as a box of chocs .. and the broken pot still sits on the windowsill in the downstairs loo, in case the giver ever comes to call !

Not all scams. I was notified of a parcel with a photo of where they left it. Wrong doorstep but it was 4 full size bottles of Garner. Had applied online for samples but thought it would be sachets

I want a mystery parcel. Am usually the one sending stuff to other people to cheer them up etc., sorry Sago I didn’t send one to you, but would be nice to have something like this arrive.
Do tell what is in it.

It was a huge box!

Full of the kitchen roll I ordered from Amazon!

I have never had DPD deliver on behalf of Amazon before!

The box is great for the move!

I expect you ordered from a company which uses the Amazon platform and makes its own delivery arrangements. Same as ordering a card from a seller on Amazon which is delivered by Royal Mail.

I wonder if this Mystery Parcel is a pressie from a mystery Nigerian prince?

Crossstitchfan Wed 05-Feb-25 11:18:35

Sago

It’s NOT a scam!

How can you be so sure it’s not a scam?

I know it’s not a scam because I always click on the senders email and check.

Stansgran Wed 05-Feb-25 11:49:00

Has it arrived? I’m agog😁

Stansgran Wed 05-Feb-25 11:49:33

Ah I see I’m too late.

They're so clever at reproducing the appearance of well-known companies now that it's hard to tell which are genuine and which not. For example, my bank recently put some weird security checks in place - when I didn't respond (because I thought it was a scam), they refused to honour a cheque to my builder. I've changed my bank.

It’s a scam. I would delete the email and forget about it.
