Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s a chilly -1° and frosty
Hope you get to your embroidery workshop rosesandlilac, a difficult situation with your DH
Yesterday I had a wander around the garden, it’s lovely to see the early signs of spring, there’s a few snowdrops in flower and a yellow winter jasmine. I’m looking forward to getting out there again when the frost has gone and it’s slightly warmer. Nothing much planned for today, we might go out for a coffee this morning at one of the local garden centres.
Well done to Persie kitty!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Good morning Mick and everyone from a damp-looking Carlisle.
I got 6 hours unbroken sleep last night, that's rare! However, I was tired after a dismal day yesterday feeling rather grim. I've had to resort to my stronger antibiotics after all. I suppose that's not bad going as it's a year since I've had to do that.
The plus was that all the necessary sitting about enabled me to finish my book. I confess to leafing through several pages of what I considered unnecessary waffle towards the end of what was an exciting denouement. A very dystopian ending though.

Today I am girding my loins for a trip into town for some necessary items, thankful that the car is not iced up and no snow lying about. Then home for a relaxing day catching up with my magazines and maybe the paper.

Rose , your husband sounds worrying, can you not have another go at your GP and get him called in under the guise of a routine check?

And I wish you all the best possible weekend.

Good morning, Michael and all GNs. I slept late this morning. I can’t remember the last time I used “slept” and “late” in tandem with each other! Going to be a damp day in South Yorkshire. I have a quick visit to the supermarket and then DS will be popping in on his way to the match and calling in again on his way home to eat with me. Other than that, it’s a quiet day of knitting, reading and writing letters.
Safe journeys to all who are travelling.
Have the best day you can folks.

Good morning all from a very chilly North Leicestershire.

We always have TiB - thought it was the law!

Not a lot on here today, thankfully, so I will catch up with TV and read the papers.

The Sound of Music was great yesterday but the star was Persie (obviously) as a goat herd. Who knew she could yodel so well.

Good morning everyone from mid Esses. It’s cold and wet and still quite dark here at the moment. Another wet day forecast, but hopefully without the biting easterly wind. Yesterday DD2 took me to see my godmother and we had a nice morning with her. I didn’t do much in the afternoon as I felt cold, even with the heating on.
Nothing planned for today, although a visit to an emergency dentist may be necessary to deal with a nagging toothache. My regular appointment is not until April unfortunately. I need to change the bedclothes so I’ll do that first!
Have the best day possible everyone, stay warm and dry.

GrannyGravy13 Sat 08-Feb-25 07:17:08

According to my phone it’s 5° but feels like 1°, with light rain all day…

Waiting for DH to wake up and make the tea, I will be joining the TIB 🛌 club.

I managed to get to the salon for my manicure appointment. Last night the two youngest sons persuaded us to join them for dinner, which we did. DH dropped me off outside the restaurant and then went to the car park.

Nothing planned today other than the sofa with my legs elevated, kindle, iPad and TV remote.

🙋‍♀️

RosesandLilac Sat 08-Feb-25 07:12:45

Good morning from a cold, wet hillside in south Glos, no snow thankfully.
I’ve had about three hours sleep thanks to DH who’s been banging around the house for most of the night, doing goodness knows what 🤬. His behaviour really is getting odder and odder but he refuses to see his GP 🤷🏼‍♀️who I wrote to several years ago but who did nothing.
I’m supposed to be at an embroidery workshop this morning but I feel like a piece of chewed string.
I must get up because I need to walk the dog, I can’t rely on him doing it, then try to summon up some enthusiasm.
I hope you all have a lovely weekend 🌹

Good morning from a dry but chilly Torbay where we also can’t start the day without TIB, which DH has just made. Unless we have a reason to be up early, this often leads to a second mug and a further doze 💤, especially on these dark mornings.

Yesterday, I was relieved to finally speak to an actual person at NRS Healthcare regarding the return of the equipment kindly delivered most efficiently after my hospital stay in December. For over a week, I have been trying in vain to organise its return and feared it being here for ever!

Coffee morning at church then hibernating from the cold, I expect, although DH is keen to buy Cornish pasties for lunch, freshly baked nearby.

Happy weekend, folks! 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. We have been having some beautiful days. Frosty mornings with bright sunshine.
I had to go into the bank in Edinburgh yesterday and I also went to an enormous supermarket. I realised how much I loathe these places.
So I bought fish from the van when I got home and provisions from the community store.
I lit the fire and my df came for supper bringing wine so we had a most pleasant evening.

Welcome home pantglas

I hope everyone has some joy today.

Bonnybanko Sat 08-Feb-25 06:46:31

Good morning all it’s real dark, cold and rainy out there on the east coast of Fife.
I had a wonderful day yesterday at my local community club where I met loads of friends I used to work on with.
There’s a lady at the club who repaired my velvet trousers which my son sent to me for my Christmas. I needed the zip taken out and an elasticated waistband put in she’s done a grand job it only cost me a donation too,

Hope all you grandnetters slept well last night, take care you lovely folk

cornergran Sat 08-Feb-25 06:43:37

Short not shirt grin.

cornergran Sat 08-Feb-25 06:42:24

Morning Mick, morning All from a damp, cold corner of Somerset.

An enjoyable volunteer stint yesterday followed by a quiet afternoon. Off over the bridge to see our friend today. Just a shirt drive for us though as we’re meeting our son who will then be chauffeur. Just as well as I’ve been awake since 2.30, I’ll be propping my eyes open and am thoroughly irritated with myself.

Have the best day you can everyone.

Pantglas2 Sat 08-Feb-25 06:38:18

Bore da from dark and dry north Wales 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 where it’s ☕️ in 🛏️ ( a la the FGTs ) where I’ve slept for eight hours uninterrupted after a brilliantly smooth journey home from from our Moroccan jolly.

Will need to trot out for some provisions later and my Dhobi Waller will be busy too ( he’s blissfully unaware at the moment 😂)

Will pop in later to read of your pleasures (and hopefully few pains ) this weekend x

Good morning from s somerset, cold, dull and wet today

It was perishing outside on my walk yesterday, my coat was warm but the cold even got through my trousers. I had to make sure to breathe in through my nose, to warm the air up a little bit.

I lit the stove at lunchtime, not a lot of fuel but the top-down method is very efficient. I only added a bit more fuel once and then let it die down, 5 hours later and it was still hot enough to keep the fan turning. It warms the whole house. Downside is that the comfortable heat makes me drowsy

I ordered a decent folding chair for my plot and a lock for my big storage box, I intend to leave my stuff there and also to get RnR, rather than stand up the whole time. The weather will be too miserable to go today but tomorrow looks a bit better, I am adding things to my car every day

Sewing later today, I want to make that gardening smock. There are signs of spring, nature knows best

Have a good day

grandMattie Sat 08-Feb-25 06:31:59

Good morning from a dull Bristol. We are promised rain today…
I was stunned during my Spanish class, that my discussion partner didn’t know what “heretical” meant! And she is supposed to have been a journalist, albeit for the local rag.
Nothing much in the afternoon.
Today, I need to clean my bit of the church before coffee, then probably the usual read, nap, sew, cook…
I hope you have a good weekend. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Kalu Sat 08-Feb-25 05:59:08

Good morning all. It’s still dark out side, 1deg and overcast for much of the day in Glasgow. What did cheer me up though was it was still light, past 5.00pm driving home.

It’s lovely to have some sunshine but driving when the sun is low can be a leap of faith at some point.
I have no plans to go out today and have the choice of knitting, reading or some embroidery, the day is my own to do as I please.

Best wishes to all for a good day.

Bellasnana Sat 08-Feb-25 05:37:51

Good morning from Malta where we have a day of thundery rain forecast with a high of 12°C.

I have an appointment with my doctor this morning, then to the post office to collect a couple of parcels, after which home to do a bit of cleaning before settling down to watch the tennis from Rotterdam this afternoon.

Yesterday was another lovely day with the boys. It has been such a happy week enjoying their company.

Wishing you all a good day however you are spending it.☀️
