Do you love to lounge?

Sorry being retired don’t have to dress up unless going out usually would put makeup on but not always. At home may be velour lounge suit or a pj day depends what I feel like, my husband is usually shorts and sweatshirt in winter or t-shirt in summer, our home our choices.

I dont change straight into night stuff when I arrive home from being out somewhere. It depends on where the outing was to. So if it is simple trousers top and warm but very light cashmere jumper, I feel comfortable in them wherever I am so will usually change the precious cashmere for my £5 bargain warm woollen blue jacket with good pockets. This looks fine, is very comfortable and fine for doing housework or sitting here at the laptop or whatever. If it is very cold in the early mornig 5ish I put on my long dressing gown but then put me long padded white gilet thing with a hood over the top. This keeps me very warm especially putting the hood up , and no doubt I look a tidy but perhaps rather weirdly dressed. Not that I see anyone else up at that early time . Once we get a bit more daylight it will be on with easy pullup trousers, a cotton T shirt and my fleece and my sox and shoes which will let me meander around in the early dawn without frightening the horses. At night , I tend to look at the radio times and what I have been doing and if I only plan to watch things like Only Connect and so forth I do get into dressing gown etc, but if I think I might go outside stay in clothes. Not many great things about living alone, but at least I can please myself and once I have shut the curtains I can do as I please.

I have a wardrobe full of really nice clothes but I no longer have a social or work life. I recently decided to not leave them hanging in the wardrobe for the moths but to wear them. So, I choose a nice outfit to dress in
after coffee, shower, make-up, hair, jewellery. I feel good all day. I never have changed my clothes until I go to bed. Never feel uncomfortable.

I have 4 kinds of outfits: out (shopping, etc), out-out (dinner, theatre, etc), at home (gardening, housework) and not-answering-the-door (tv, reading, CDs, etc).

I agree jeans aren’t the most comfortable, ViceVersa, or the warmest. I prefer fleecy joggers.

My loungewear is a fleece lined sweatshirt type top and fleece lined joggers, called loungewear when I bought it so I referred to it as such, but comfy clothes is just as good.
Before getting the 'loungewear' I simply wore PJs with an old cardi on top.

If someone comes to my door, then they have to take me as I am. Comfort is top priority for me. I would never have described jeans as being 'comfy', although I haven't been able to wear anything with a fixed waistband for years, thanks to medical issues.

What exactly is “loungewear”? I thought the OP was referring to cosy comfy clothes to relax in, eg. jeans, leggings, jumpers etc., not clothes specifically designed for the purpose. I didn’t know there was such a thing a thing.

I have something like this but it’s only for long haul flights.
My daughter has as many lounging clothes as she has daywear.

I get showered and dressed immediately I get up then I like to think I look tidy all day. I don’t possess any loungewear. I always think someone might come to the door or that I may have to pop out somewhere although it rarely happens. I would never be downstairs wearing pyjamas.

Looking back , I recall how my mother , her relatives and friends got up and dressed very formally for the day .
They wouldn't have allowed anyone to have seen them without make up , a proper hairstyle, an immaculate dress or suit ,stockings and high heels.
Underneath ,they wore tight corsets .
At night ,when these foundation garments were finally peeled off - I remember the red marks on her body .
She must have been about 70 when this regid uniform was finally relinquished indoors .
Shame faced ,my mother described it as letting herself go .

I'm jeans and jumper around the house. I wear a uniform in work then, change into my Jeans and stay in them. I would never think to change into Lounge wear.
I do have a couple of dressing gowns, bought manly for my Hip and Knee replacements couple of years ago but never wear them now , they will end up in a Charity bag at some stage.
If I do potter around before my morning shower I will pop on a Fleece.

I wear jeans and jumpers - comfortable clothing. I change for bed.

I put myself tidy if goin out but once home I’m in leggings and jumper . I prob look like a rite scruff bag but I like to be comfy

Leisure wear for me always, when at home. If I've been out
I change into my old fleecy things the minute I get home.

I always wear my cosy clothes (as my sister calls them), whilst indoors, which in the Winter are usually thermal leggings and a fleece top, colour co-ordinated, naturally! 😉. In the Summer it’s shorts and a t-shirt, on warm days.☀️

Yes, a little more comfortable for remaining indoors in the evenings including a release of the girls 😉

I've always changed from day wear to some nice comfy clothes in the evenings, even when I was young. Unless perhaps I was expecting VIP visitors! This would usually have been some jeans or tracksuit bottoms and T shirt/sloppy jumper. Now I'm "old" I put my PJs on when I get home (I still work) at about 7pm.

I’m another who doesn’t own loungewear or PJs and I only buy comfortable clothes which I can loll around in!

I do have a nightshirt which I don when I’m ill in bed and fortunately that’s rare. My dressing gown is worn early every morning while I enjoy use of the chamberpot ☕️ then ablutions before dressing.

ViceVersa I suppose it’s because I don’t have any nightwear to wash, so just one set of clothes in 24 hours.

It's not creating more washing here. I 'lounge' around in my leggings and baggy tops anyway, then usually change into my pyjamas after dinner.

Oh yes I couldn’t imagine sitting all evening in day clothes. I have a bath around 4pm dinner is usually in the oven by then, then fleecy pjs on. DH showers about 6pm and puts on jogging bottoms and a fleecy top.

I’m often in pjs and dressing gown in the evening if I have no plans. Not bothered if anyone calls unexpectedly, they just have to take me as I am.

Jaxjacky, agree, another pile of washing at the end of the week, not for me.

I don’t own any loungewear or pj’s either. Get up, shower, get dressed - jeans and jumper just now, then undressed at bedtime.
Who’d want to create more washing!
