Pottered about in the morning, that should say
Good morning from a grey but dry NE where it is 1 degree.
Yesterday was a very lazy day, watched a whole detective series on itv x while doing crosswords.
Nothing planned for today so will just see how it goes.
Thoughts are with FGT and her DH.
A lovely sunny, uplifting morning. Have a good day everyone.
Good Morning Mick and all GN's up and about this morning.
As I am writing a bit later there is some daylight, but that is all you can say!! It is grey, miserable looking and possibly going to rain. I have to go out for a bit of shopping so it will no doubt choose to rain then!!
Had another rough night and in quite a lot of pain. Felt rough and ratty and even a shower did not help much but hurray for Bach before 7, as today it was the great Fischer - Dieskau singing a favourite piece of mine, and it was better than a painkiller tablet. I was able to just sit and let the beauty of the piece and his wonderful voice wash over me and let me just relax and enjoy it.
So am dressed and washing up done etc as I know on days like this, I shall feel shattered when I get back and will need to just stick frozen stuff in freezer and collapse in a heap for a time. Third time lucky I hope in that I am going yet again into the wretched bank and hope to finally get things completely sorted out. At least have sorted out the phone thing so was able to finally buy a coffee from Cafe Nero using my phone and no hold ups. I also plan to nip into Specsavers as my friend warned me that putting the drops in when I have had the cataract done can be difficult and I need to find out how long the drops have to be used etc., as right now I am just desperate to have a little break but must check out about my eye first..
Feel very hemmed in not being able to drive right now. There was a lovely garden open yesterday with snowdrops and because they had been in the house for 400 years you could go in for just 6pence, just for the one day !!! Typical it was when I cant drive and no bus stop near it, so couldnt go there. Extra frustrating!!! So have been spoilt by being able to drive wherever, I am going to see if there is a 4 or 5 day coach trip somewhere soon to at least get away before I go round the bend. Never particularly wanted to do this kind of a trip as I like to drive country ways and visit gardens or N T houses on my way and make a pleasure out of a trip. These coaches seem to all stop at motorway service stations, absolutely practical of course for them , but not my choice. I always think they are expensive and boring and not my choice at all. Ah well beggars cant be choosers and right now I need to see the sea or some lovely countryside. Well depends on the cost of course and whats on offer.
Think I shall just sit in my car this afternoon for a little while and start it up and run the engine and clean it out a bit. Well, not a very exciting day but might finally do some ironing , which got put off yet again yesterday. Hope the day goes well for everyone, take care, keep warm and hope the sun makes an appearance soon!
Good morning and it’s frosty, cold but sunny here in Essex.
Yesterday was lovely with most of the family here, apart from twin gs’s and eldest DGD who lives in Southampton and nurses all the hours God sends in a Psychiatric hospital. She’ll be ‘home’ next week for a few days. ♥️. She certainly needs a break.
The rest of us enjoyed each others company with lots of laughter and fun with the Uncles teasing the youngsters. Funny how they all resort to ‘childhood’. 🤣.
Nothing on today so I’ll walk up to town and take back a couple of jumpers I bought last week. Walk the dog - perhaps over the fields as it’s been dry for a couple of days.
I must decide whether to go to our seaside abode with Dh tomorrow for a couple of days. Hes hoping to sell our vintage MG and we keep it up there. He says he’ll be fine on his own BUT …… 🤔.
Happy holidays Liberty and Bonnybanko.☀️.
Thinking of you, both today Fgt it’s the anticipation and waiting that gets to you.
Take care all.🌱
Thoughts are with FGT and her DH
Morning all from a grey chilly S Hampshire, I’ll wave Oops!
I collected my new glasses yesterday, what a difference, it was busy at Asda but the optician is near the door so a fairly painless visit.
My daughter and Imogen came for meat draw yesterday, no meat won, but in another game afterwards MrJ won two tickets to Legoland, they’ll be donated.
Voluntary phone today, must get some cash out, quiz tonight - daughter will come too as it’s half term
Thinking of you both FGT
🦩🦩
Madeleine I think you will find the drops for cataracts go on for four weeks. Devices are available on line to use to direct the drops into the eye.
Thinking of FGT and DH
Good morning all from a balmy 3° with broken cloud on the Angus coast. I've absolutely nothing to report this morning - all has gone quiet around me. So I'll wish you all a happy day with an alleviation of all ills and aches and pains and lots of enjoyment of half term holidaying grandchildren x
Good morning from Staffordshire where the forecast is for sunny intervals🥳
We are in charge of the little dog and two cats. The dog and one cat are no trouble but the other cat was attacked last week so is grounded because of his injuries so is not happy at all.We are not used to life with cats but are doing ok😬🤪
We got one of the devices to help mum putting the drops in after her cataract operations madeleine. It took a bit of practice to just get a couple of drops but worth persevering.
We are off to a shopping outlet for a couple of hours and lunch out.
Thinking of Mr and Mrs FGT🙏🏻
Wishing a good day to all🦩
Another here thinking of you today FGTandHimself.
A late Good morning from Durham. Stupid me lost my phone! I realised I’d left it in the garage while sorting stuff out in there and couldn’t be bothered to get it late last night.
Out for usual Monday coffee with a friend - she’s lost a filling and has an appointment later, but says she’s ok to meet me at 10.30. I’ll do a bit more in the garage when I get back.
Thinking of the .FGTs - I know it’s not the procedure, it’s awaiting the results? 🤞
Best wishes to all. X
Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s dry, again. And chilly, again. Alexa tells me it’s 3°C, cloudy and will be 5°C again later! Same same.
It’s scan day today. I’m quietly hopeful but don’t want to hex things by assuming too much. My lovely brother in law is picking us up at 3pm to take us to The Christie.
Now to read all the posts ahead of mine whilst enjoying my second mug of TIB. Let’s hope today is favourable for all of us. x
Good morning all. Cloudy and cold again in Glasgow.
I am only just having my kick start espresso after a broken night’s sleep. Oh well, a catch up snooze will no doubt happen later. C’est la vie….all will sort itself out in good time.
I had a constructive day clearing out and filling 5 black bags so far ready to drop off for charity. Other items in the garage are gathered for a run to the tip. It took me longer than I thought. Feeling motivated I decided to tackle other tasks rather than go out anywhere.
Thinking of you and your DH FGT. Everything crossed for a good outcome. It’s such a difficult time waiting for scan results🤞.
Best wishes to all for a pleasant day.
Good morning to u all . No Nanny duties today so I’m goin to pop a presant up to my friend and pop to cemetery which is more or less next door to me . There are 6 water taps there and not one of them have had water for the past 3 months . Drives me insane so I need to take my own to top up the pots . Have a lovely day everyone x
Good morning all from a sunny Black country although there was a heavy frost.
No plans as yet but if the sun continues to shine will spend some time in the garden.
Will now get my cuppa and read the 41 posts before me.
Hope all goes well for FGT and Himself will be thinking of you🤞.
Hope Marydoll is feeling a little better.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans ☀️.
Good morning Mick and all from 3°C Sandiways northwest coast.
I pulled myself out of my slough of despond yesterday and got going. Felt much better for it. Painted a couple of birthday cards, practised songs and did some decluttering.
I started watching a Joan Hickson Miss Marple on YouTube last night, new to me and liked it a lot. I know the more recent Miss Marples.
DD arrives from the south tonight so I must clear the dining room table of music and art stuff. I’m cooking chicken thighs in red wine.
Thoughts to FG, hope you are enjoying your holiday Bonnybanko and hope everyone has a good day🌺
.
I’ve read all your posts while eating my bowl of porridge and blueberries (still in bed - why not? #lazygran). Yes ‘scanxiety’ is definitely a thing. The waiting for the result at next Mondays opc appointment. I just wanted to come back on to thank you all SO much for your kind wishes and messages of support. I can almost feel you all cheering us on and it’s lovely.
We truly are FGT.
Good morning from Edinburgh airport , the snow has stopped so flight should be ok
Thinking of fgt and oh
Late to the party - good morning, though.
I have had a lovely drive through Northamptonshire countryside to collect Rosie from her kennels and dropped my car off in the village on my way home, walking the last bit. TG I had a random dog poo bag in my pocket because, yes, she “performed”.
Now enjoying a coffee and catch up with your news. Thoughts with FGT and Himself, the wait will be the hardest bit.
I too recommend one-handed eye dropper gadgets Madeleine I bought one for my Dad many years ago after his Glaucoma op as he really wasn’t coping on his own and also for my sister in law more recently after her cataract op.
Highly recommended!
I feel I have almost done a days work.
Driving to and from Walthamstow is easy enough (1 1/2 hours) apart from the mental strain of the M25 and fortunately hardly any lorries yesterday and I slept well enough at D’s but I always feel zonked after being away. So a lovely lazy day is planned for today, it’s sunny so I’ll do some washing and walk the dog again later but as I have no car all day, apart from that, nix, rien, nada!
Wishing you all a pleasant day.
Morning all, actually just become afternoon, oops!
Sun is out here in Suffolk but its v chilly- presently debating whether to peg out the washing which has just finished, or put it on the airers in the sun, in the conservatory- 1st world problem I know!
Postive thoughts for FGT and Himself that all goes well today for a favourable outcome. x
Good afternoon,
Bitterly cold here, although the sun is trying to break through a bit. There’s an icy breeze that cuts through. Went to coffee morning group today and came home frozen to the bone as the outside door was open whilst some guttering was being cleaned - there washer was electric and needed a power source. Typically, they finished just as we did.
I second those positive thoughts, FGT.
Good afternoon, Michael12 and everyone!
I'm back to work on the 18th Feb, this week has gone so fast!
As I live alone and don't have any real pets because of weird work times, I got onto the robotpets.co,.uk site and have ordered Percy Kitten 1.1 black and white which cost me £109.99, reduced from £120.99, he had built in sensors, purrs, responds etc, and also a Luxurious Handmade Black/White Cat Backpack, was £80.99, now £65.99! I'm really looking forward to mt parcel coming soon!
