Good morning from a bright W Kent. DD2 and DGD2 are taking me shopping today, I badly need some new make up and DGD is the expert. DH will entertain DGS5 probably with lunch out.
Happy birthday Kalu

Good morning from a sunny but frosty mid Essex. Another cold day forecast, but hopefully the last really cold day for a while. Despite the cold yesterday I did manage a little gardening, so was pleased with myself. Later a friend came round for a coffee and a catch up.
I need to go to the post office today to get some stamps for large letters, but will drive as it’s a bit too far for me to walk yet. Well done for your long walk yesterday roses and lilac. I also have some ironing to do, then maybe a bit more gardening.
kalu Happy Birthday, enjoy your meal this evening.
I hope that all gransnetters on holiday enjoy their day in the warmth and sunshine!
Have the best day possible everyone.

Good morning all from a wet Glasgow, where it is 2°C,

Happy birthday Kalu. 💕

Bella, we used to buy our glasses, when we holidayed in Cyprus, because they were so much cheaper there!

DH is off to pick up DIL from your neck of the woods, Kalu. Her car is also in for an MOT, I was supposed to go, but I'm not well enough. I will be anxious, until he comes back, because he never listens to instructions.

Have a pleasant day folks.

Safe journey to all who are travelling.

Good morning Mick and everyone from grey but dry Carlisle.

Happy Birthday Kalu !

Yesterday's trip into town was cold...it started sleeting as I arrived and there was a very icy breeze. I was glad of my investment in woolly scarves last autumn. I was sorry for the poor assistants in WHSmith, clad in body warmers and fingerless gloves because of no heating. It was beautifully warm upstairs where the post office was.
I treated myself to new underwear in M&S, time to chuck out some aging bras which no longer do anything for me.
Then it was home to jobs some of which I put back to today so it will be a busy one.
Having sworn to buy no more books for a while as I have a backlog, I didn't have the strength of will to not read the book reviews in the weekend paper. Another one will arrive today! The problem is, whilst I love reading, I can't sit about for hours doing so, I prefer to be active, preferably outside. That's what I'm hoping for today as my snowdrops in the green have arrived and must be got in, a tedious job on my knees on the lawn.

Finally....have a good day everyone if you can.

🎂 Happy birthday kalu.

Good morning from cold South Lanarkshire.

Happy birthday to you Kalu flowers

Safe travels to all those on the move today.

I’m almost finished with my photo albums. I ordered prints online from Asda yesterday and within twenty minutes I had an email saying that they were ready for collection. Very impressive. Less so was the drive down to the store in a town twenty minutes away as road works doubled the time. Hey ho.

I’ve a fairly busy day ahead. Daft dug to the groomer this morning then I’m in the charity shop this afternoon followed by yarn group this evening.

Wishing everyone the best day possible.

brook2704 Tue 18-Feb-25 08:03:50

Good morning everyone from Inverness where we’ve had some light overnight snow, with sleet and rain now
A very Happy Birthday Kalu 💐❤️
I’ll call into DD2s sometime today to see the DGC, they don’t really need looking these days as DD2 works from home so they’re not left alone. Nothing else planned except the usual housework
Happy holidays and safe travels to all on the move today
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Grandmabatty Tue 18-Feb-25 08:19:07

Change of plan. Dgs1 has been sick overnight and this morning. So no soft play and lots of rest(hopefully). He's lying on the couch beside me, looking very woebegone. Dgs2 is happy eating buttered toast.

Ladyleftfieldlover Tue 18-Feb-25 08:19:23

Morning all from a cool West Oxfordshire. Happy birthday Kalu.

I am having a lie in. Who knows how much sleep I’ll get on the plane later,

I checked in last night and have a bit more packing to do. After a light lunch OH will drive me to the bus station. I’ve booked a bus to Heathrow. It’s going to be a long day… and night!

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from Staffordshire where we are promised sunshine all day.

Happy birthday Kalu.Enjoy your meal this evening. It is my grandsons seventh birthday today. They are on holiday in Spain. We have already had a photo of the birthday boy.

Another day of pet sitting.DH is in charge as I have a meeting at the care home tomorrow to prepare for to see if mum is eligible for any help with fees due to her deteriorating condition.I am feeling quite depressed with it all and having to work hard to keep cheerful. She has no life.My elder brother and his wife are helping now with the house and house sale which is brilliant.I am still the one who has to sign but they are organising things.

Safe travels all on the move and thinking of those with mountains to climb.

Wishing everyone a good day🦩

Good morning, Mick and everyone, it's 2 degrees and overcast here in North Lanarkshire.
Safe journey, Ladyleftfieldlover, ✈, and many happy returns, Kalu. 🎂

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders where it's cold.

I'm expecting a book valuer this morning and the pottery I sent to be fired in a community woodfire kiln near Arbroath, is going to be delivered home. 😀

Happy birthday 🎂 Kalu you look at least 20years younger than that.
she's a very beautiful woman

Exciting to hear of all the GN holidays and meetings on a cruise. I've nothing planned apart from selling my house this year.

Hope everyone has a good day.

BlueSapphire Tue 18-Feb-25 08:28:35

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞 Northampton, bodes well for our well-being walk this afternoon.

A tricky yoga class yesterday,.with several poses I found quite hard, but it is good to stretch oneself (literally as well as figuratively!). Enjoyed the coffee and chat afterwards!

An outing to the shops after lunch to pick up my orders, and decided to go mad, extend the.bus journey by one stop and also go to Matalan, B&M, Aldi and Lidl! Found some wine I needed in Aldi when I next host our wine club evening in March. Also bought some of their face cream. Matalan furnished me a new thermal vest and king-size sheet. Enjoyed browsing the middle aisle in Lidl, but wasn't tempted by anything.

Successfully picked up my orders in M&S and Next, a trying on session after my shower later.....

Happy birthday Kalu! 🎂🍾🎁

Happy holidays to all in foreign climes! Looking forward to meeting glammagran on our April cruise!

madeleine45 Tue 18-Feb-25 08:28:39

Good morning Mick and all G.Ns on a dont know what day! Of course by now daylight, and so far dry with a little touch of sunshine but on the other side looks very grey and as though it might rain any minute. Who knows? Might even get a rainbow out of it!! A happy birthday Kalu and hope you have a lovely day

Well rubbish night, not a lot of sleep, quite a lot of pain but never mind. Am mentally in a better place today despite feeling very weary and surrounded by yet more stuff that only I can deal with. But yesterday I had two ladies come to do some cleaning, but more importantly some sorting, and they even brought their brother, on his way to a dental check up who provided some muscle and so we have been able to move things to where I have wanted them for ages, but not had the physical strength or amount of effort to do myself. Especially my lovely 6ft mirror which I brought from my old home. I am now going to look at it in various places before deciding where it will best add light without dazzle and getting it properly put up and safely attached to the wall.

So, very pleased to get these big things sorted, but of course there are now loads of smaller things that only I can really sort out myself. At the moment, just feel too weary to even contemplate starting and am going in for the mundane this morning, out for one or two bits and pieces, then if I can face it, need to start looking through clothes as there are some very thick wintery stuff that can go away and some lighter things need hanging up and also a few things that I really need to try on and decide to either wear or give to charity shop. Whilst I am on a high to see some things sorted it may encourage me to do a bit of clothes shifting too!

This afternoon I want to look through my bank account for dd.s and so forth and check them out, as I have just moved banks. Sometimes you look and think what was this small payment for? and it either reminds you of something or with luck it is something that can be cancelled to the benefit of your account. All I seem to do with it at the moment is having to put up the amount I am paying for utilities etc.

Then this afternoon I shall absolutely ignore any jobs that should be done and have a rest and a read, as I plan to go to the games night at a local pub. They have it every tuesday, which I presume must have been a quiet night for the pub, so it is very low key and simple. Anyone can go to join in. They play board games, not including cards or monopoly. I have only recently found it and it is something new for me. People just bring their games, and then meet up and ask who wants to play this or that game. There are some very complicated games that you would need to know quite a bit about to be able to play at their level. Other games have a simple start but can become more complicated as you go along. Of course for much of them I am a complete beginner, but they are willing to teach and I am a quick learner. There is no charge for being there and people just buy what drinks they want as and when. It is warm and sociable and a chance to take your mind off worries and enjoy chatting and learning. whats not to like? So I think being out of the house there will be more restful and hopefully I will then be able to start in the morning with energy and zest to do some clearing up. Hope everyone has a good day and that the weather is kind to us all.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Tue 18-Feb-25 08:33:00

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where Alexa tells me it’s 2°C and dry, up to 6°C later. I slept SO well last night. I think I was emotionally drained after yesterday afternoon.

Man with a van is coming sometime today to collect a 2 seater leather sofa as John Lewis is delivering a new Harris tweed one on Thursday.

Himself is off to the MacMillan centre in a bit for his last complimentary reflexology session and this evening we’ve been invited to our friendly neighbours along the decking for drinks at 6pm. Chin chin! 🍷

Taichinan Tue 18-Feb-25 08:43:52

Good morning Mick and all. Lovely to hear of all the sun down south! Up here on the Angus coast we are into our second week of grey skies, biting wind and rain with no change in that mix until Saturday. We had such a lovely bright January here so this is hard to get used to.
Happy Birthday Kalu and enjoy your meal out. And bon voyage llfl. Not forgetting olddudders today as well. And Pantglas. Holiday season is obviously upon us. Have a wonderful time all.
For me it's tai chi again after a night of no sleep until the last half hour before the alarm went off! I'm sure I must have dozed from time to time - maybe I was just dreaming I was awake? 😉. Anyway, after a quick dash to the shops I shall be ready to come home and flop.
Enjoy your day everyone, whether baking, walking or enjoying the company of grandchildren x

Jaxjacky Tue 18-Feb-25 08:48:37

Morning from sunshine in S Hants, 2 and frost on the cars.
Voluntary phone was busy yesterday and a rush getting out for quiz last night where we were one question away from winning some £’s.
Tedious housework, a walk and a couple of phone calls today, wedding plans are rumbling on, we’re keeping out!
Happy Birthday Kalu 🎂🥂
Safe travels to those on the move

Good morning all from a sunny Black country.
Yesterday was sunny but the wind was bitter so no gardening was done, instead I cleared some paperwork and did some ironing.
Today if there is no wind I will do some gardening try again.
Happy birthday Kalu 🎂🎉.
Safe travels those on the move.
Have a good day everyone whatever your plans ☀️.

Beechnut Tue 18-Feb-25 09:05:30

Good morning everyone. Lovely sunshine on Severnside.

Happy Birthday Kalu enjoy your meal 🎂🍾🎉

GrannySomerset Tue 18-Feb-25 09:07:15

Still bitterly cold but distinctly brighter so the improving weather seems to be on its way. Domestic day beckons as I keep out of the way of Wonderful Cleaner while I deal with various admin tasks which all seem to get more and more complicated.

Hope all the travellers have a really good experience and that those unwell have a better day. I seem to be incubating a cold so will probably not go tomWI tonight as it seems unfair to share it.

Whiff Tue 18-Feb-25 09:07:33

Happy birthday Kali 🥳🎁🥂..
Cold and windy here again in the north west. No move it or lose it today our instructor is ill. Need to make cake to take to my craft group tomorrow.

Has anybody else noticed the paperclip has disappeared so we can't post pictures. I have emailed GN to find out why .

harrigran Tue 18-Feb-25 09:19:13

Good morning from a cold and grey NE.
Yesterday was another day of doing nothing, too much pain that painkillers do not ease.
Had phone call to my mobile which I refused to accept then got an email telling me to contact them as it was a medical appointment. Why do they use numbers that are similar to scammers ?
Went to pick up my post and there was a card from Royal mail saying I had to go online and pay £1.50 to get a letter redelivered. I hardly ever get post, might not give them my bank details for that amount.
Happy birthday Kalu, enjoy your day.

hollysteers Tue 18-Feb-25 09:21:36

Good morning Mick and all from a breezy 3°C northwest coast.
DD arrived from the south last night and DSon came over unexpectedly. My chicken casserole stretched well, just the addition of more potatoes did the job.

DD helped with some techie stuff and we had a lovely evening together and a rather late night.

This afternoon to the music club, I’m ‘on the desk’ and singing, so will have a warm up this morning.
Birthday greetings kalu and thoughts to all🌺

Gingster Tue 18-Feb-25 09:23:25

Good morning all and the sun is so bright , I’ve had to put the blind down to type this post. ☀️. Still very cold though!

Dh is off to our seaside cottage and will hopefully sell our old car. He’s going in his own and I think it will do his confidence good, as he relies on me a lot and doesn’t think for himself, when I’m around. He’ll stay overnight and come back tomorrow .

RosesandLilac you've
spurred me on to take a long walk with the dog this morning. It certainly won’t be 5 miles but longer than usual. I’m hoping the fields have dried out a bit.

This afternoon my friend is picking me up for Bridge as I won’t have the car.

Happy birthday Kalu. I think there are a few 1950 babes on here. It was a good year! Mine is in July.

Safe and trouble free travels and happy holidays. A long journey for you llfl , I hope you get some sleep. 🤞.

Take care all 🌱
