Good Morning Tuesday 18th February 2025
(59 Posts)Good morning from a less cold but windy Torbay.
Early TIB as DH is travelling back to France today so I’ll be driving him to Newton Abbot to catch the train to Paddington.
We’ve just had nine weeks together which has been good.
All the best to everyone especially those with health worries and thinking of FGT and her DH. 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩
Good morning everyone from a cool and dark north Wales coast where I’m all exited 🫠 for our gallivant to Hurghada, a new-to-us destination!
I know Liberty is in Cadiz and LLFL is off down under (poor GG incapacitated 🥲 and confined to barracks else she’d be off too) with Bonnybanko in the Canaries we’re flying the GM flag far and wide!
I hope those of you with health worries at home have good news whilst we’re away (I include Mr PG in that list - he insists he’s on the mend and perfectly fit to travel and I admit the antibiotics seem to have worked their magic🤞)
I leave others to the stunning photography (you’ll not want to see my thumbs, lovely as they are…) and hope WiFi is up to scratch so I can keep up with your bizzinesses x
Good morning from Malta where it is just getting light. We are promised a sunny day with a high of 20°C.
Had a busy day with the boys yesterday but they were good as gold and I got them to nursery on time both as happy as could be.
In the afternoon my old a/c unit was removed and a lovely new one installed which involved a lot of work and mess but I shall be so glad of it once the summer sets in, last year was a struggle without it.
I’m off to the boys in a bit, just got to hang out some washing. The dog was sick on the rug so I have that and his blankets in the machine which will then need serious dog hair removal. He’s such a lot of work.
This afternoon I have booked an eye test as my glasses have had a huge scratch across the lens since I crash landed on my head in Poland. More expense! I’m tempted to try ordering online glasses but don’t know how reliable they would be for varifocals. The price of glasses here is ridiculous.
Wishing a good day to all.☀️
PS. Safe travels to olddudders🚢
Good morning from a dry Bristol. Boy, it’s been chilly out here with the easterly breeze! A teeny bit of sun yesterday. We are promised loads today, but still cold until tomorrow.
Sad for you Ash to see olddudders off back to France after such a nice long time together.
I went to Waitrose yesterday morning, had my shopping checked. It seems my turn every time I go there, which is irritating.
I did various bits of admin, a bit of sewing, etc., in the morning.
WI innth3 afternoon. The talk was by a chap running a company called “Goats in the gorge”, not a wildlife talk at all. He told us how he built his business up, making soap, then various other cosmetics from goats milk. He’s even been on Dragon’s Den. I bought a cake of soap costing a fortune!
Today is technically empty. I shall be doing a lot of baking for the FAB cafe tomorrow and Saturday coffee which I’m serving.
I was surprised to be asked to bake for a Dementia fair next month. I accepted.
Have a good day. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩
Ps. Hope all went well for FGT2 DH yesterday, and that the wait isn’t too hard. 🫂
Good morning from s somerset, the sun may well be out today
Sending good vibes and thoughts to FGT and her DH
A bit of tidying and some outside plot time yesterday, suddenly my kitchen looks neat. I hope I can keep it tidy but I doubt it
Indoors today as I have 3 deliveries, I may be able to snatch a walk early on, depends on timings
Have a good day
Good morning, it’s dry here in south Glos so hopefully it’ll stay that way today because i washed and treated my waterproof coats yesterday afternoon and hung then out to dry - they were still so wet last night that I left them outside as the forecast seemed ok. It’s the first chance to do this I’ve had!
I had a really long walk yesterday morning, 5.5 miles 😄, to the village to post a parcel then a big loop around across the fields and through the woods home. The dog fell asleep when we got home for several hours!
It’s the longest walk I have done for several years so really pleased with myself, I didn’t even feel tired. I’m determined to get fitter and lose some weight 😊. I do so love being outside too.
Today it’s housework, grocery delivery, washing etc - may even hang it outside for the first time this year if it’s breezy again 👏; I do love the smell of line-dried washing.
Then I might go and sit in my summerhouse and enjoy watching the birds on the feeders.
Wishing you all a peaceful day 🌹
Morning Mick, morning All. It’s cold out there, our corner of Somerset is forecast a dry day, maybe some sun with a disappointingly cold wind.
We’ll not venture out as it’s back to normal here with a grocery delivery, laundry and a need to tame the dust. A slow meander home yesterday included a stop at Lacock Abbey where we enjoyed seeing the snowdrops in the grounds and wandered the village before heading for a nearby large garden centre.
Safe travels to all on the move. Have the best day you can everyone.
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 1° and dry. Too dark to speculate on the weather though. Pantglas have a lovely holiday. Ash safe journey to your dh.
Yesterday was a pleasant, quiet day. I pottered about in the morning and visited mum in the afternoon. She was quite bright and alert.
Today I have the boys all day. We might venture out to soft play as it'll break up the day for them and me. They went with mum yesterday though so might not fancy another go. Who am I kidding?
No doubt my house will be in a state of chaos once they are home, but it's quickly sorted. I will make them muffins for breakfast I think, and they can help. Have a good day all.
Good morning all. I believe it’s meant to be sunny today but probably won’t be.
Half term so we had DGD3 all day. She was a delight as always. We watched the first Harry Potter film, all 2.5 hours of it. She loved it At six she’s only just reached the age where it’s suitable. She is more sensitive than her mum was at the same age. Today it’s the turn of DS2. He is a very different kettle of fish. I hope we can keep him entertained all day.
Best wishes for FGT and her family. Hope Ash’s husband has a smooth journey back to France. And LLFL has a good trip to Oz. Your cruise sounds great Liberty. We stopped at Cadiz on S of A in 2022 and did the trip to Jerez. I’m on S of D in April with BlueSapphire and looking forward to meeting up with her, the first GNetter I will have met.
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning Michael and all GNs. Still dark in South Yorkshire and cold again. I visited two garden centres yesterday and neither had what I wanted so I’ll have to wait a bit. I came home and made the filling for a chicken and mushroom pie that GS has requested for this evening’s meal. I just need to make the pastry for it later. He’s coming this morning to help me with some jobs and staying over until tomorrow. We’ll be working outside so I hope he’s brought some warm clothes! Teenagers don’t seem to grasp the concept of warm clothes!
Hope OldDudders has a safe and pleasant journey back to France, Ash. You’ll miss him for sure.
Have the best day you can, folks.
Good morning all. 1deg which feels like -2 with heavy snow predicted this morning in Glasgow.
Panic stations yesterday when I realised my car was long overdue an MOT, how could I forget to attend to this? It is booked in for one at a local garage this morning. Something to look forward to this evening as DD2 and both GDs are taking me out for dinner to celebrate my 75th birthday today.
Safe travels to your DH ASH
Well done on such a long walk Roses. Phew!
Best wishes to all for a good day and a better one for those with worries and struggles.
An early good morning from a still dark Casablanca port side. We are off on a city tour after breakfast.
Yesterday’s sun and blue sky in Cadiz was lovely. Here is a photo of a deserted beach at midday. Hope you can feel the warmth.
Just looked for the link for photos and can’t find it!
Is your birthday today Kalu? If so, happy birthday to you.
Good morning all from a dark morning here in Tenerife, it was a fabulous night last night at the karaoke bar lots of excellent singers singing my kind of music. One of the best nights I’ve had in a long time. Today I’ll be looking for a bank to change my cash into euros then I’ll be back to the pool which I’ll be going into again because it’s to be another warm day.
My holiday is flying past far too quick I’ll need to make the most of it. Amsterdam next in May.I’m spending the kids inheritance - and why not ?because I’m worth it.
Happy days are here again 😎😎😎
Good morning all from N Bucks and special love and birthday wishes to Kalu 🥂🎂💐
A hard frost last night but we are promised wall to wall sunshine today which will be such a nice change.
I too had my car serviced and MOT’d yesterday and was happy all was well. So once it is de- iced I can be out and about again.
February is the £££££ month for the car’s MOT, tax and insurance, house insurance and this year the balance of my car purchase plan. 😞😞😞😞
I may be taking in washing by March at this rate.
My next door neighbours have a skip for the week, so ( yes I’ve checked with them) I might do a bit of garage tidying and decluttering. Just a bit, mind.
Wishing you all a pleasant day an safe travels to all unterwegs
Happy birthday, Kalu! Have a lovely day and a lovely meal!🎂💐
Good Morning from Durham. Just about light, but cold, again.
I’ve had a night of mixed dreams - feel a bit like a washed out rag!
Coffee this morning with a friend, then home to do some more sorting/decluttering in the loft/garage.
Best wishes to all. X
Happy birthday to you Kalu!. Have a lovely day. 🎊
Good morning from a cold and frosty Black Country.
Busy day yesterday, u3a Canal group talk, then 1 1/2 hours of Line Dancing in the afternoon.
Today DD and I are taking Mum for lunch.
Happy Birthday Kalu
MrJ did the same re: his MOT realised in December it should have been done in the October! Easy done, but I did tell him he should put it in his diary for the next year when collecting the car.
Sounds like a lovely holiday Bonnybanko. We are off to Lanzarote in March.
Wishing you all the best day possible.
Morning all, chilly but not windy here in S E Essex.
I have The Imp and 10yr old on my own today, so have booked them into Nerf Wars at their school (half term activity club) both very excited.
Mobility is slowly improving, but still aches if I over do things.
Happy Birthday Kalu 🥂🎂🥳
Safe travels those who are.
Thinking of FGT2 😘
Be good 🙋♀️
A very happy birthday kalu. 🎈🎂
Good morning all from a chilly North Leicestershire.
We still have DD2 and co here and are to be joined by DD3 and co. I think I may go out!!
