Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10° and damp and breezy. A significant rise in temperature from the last few days. It's still grey skies unfortunately. Bellasnana I hope you get better soon. Looking after little people while unwell is not to be recommended! Ash I'm glad your hip has settled down a bit. Don't overdo things though.
Yesterday I didn't go to the school because my hip was playing up and I wanted to rest. I managed to get lots done in the house, washings, dishwasher emptied and loaded, ironing and some filing. An appointment letter came for my second shingles jag in a few weeks too. At night I went to bed to read and my lightbulb stopped working. It's been ages since I've had to replace any bulbs, so I fully anticipate a number of them going the same way.
Today I have a chiropodist appointment early on then back home to wash floors. I'll definitely be going to the school library this afternoon. I have some leftover macaroni cheese for dinner. I might make some airfryer chips to go with it. Have a good day all.

Good morning from w Kent where it is apparently 10 degrees. Yesterday’s little art group went well, one of the ladies talked the whole time whilst one spent a lot of time saying how dreadful she is at painting when she isn’t. There seems to be general agreement that we are a friendly group which is good
Today DH and I are off to lunch with his ex boss and his wife. Smart restaurant so better look in the wardrobe. They are a lovely couple but like the rest of us getting on a bit now so lots of repetition of past events.
I hope you feel better soon Bella
I couldn’t agree more about the office and spreading germs Madeleine
Marydoll glad you are seeing Dollie’s
Best wishes

I also gave the ailing camellia the last rites

That made me smile, EkwaNimitee! 😃

Good morning from a damp Hampshire.
MrOops is off to feed the car park meter so that we can have a wander down to the river. Pity there is no car park at the Hotel
Last night we listened to the bell ringers in the Abbey, they rang for nearly 2 hours, they must have been exhausted.
We went to the little French restaurant around the corner and had late coffees, so we didn’t get to sleep until the early hours, check out isn’t until 11 though so no need to rush.
Then back home to MzOops who will have arrived by the time we get back.

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from Gran Canaria where( dare I say it?) the sun is shining and we are predicted a high of 21 degrees.

I did something yesterday on our sea day which I’ve never done before….. joined a craft session making jewellery. I don’t have an artistic bone in my body but am thrilled with the bracelet I made. I chose the smallest size and will give it to DGD5 who will be 8 in April. I would post a picture but it looks as though that facility is still not available.

We haven’t booked any excursions today so will stroll into town for coffee and a look around after a leisurely breakfast. Reading in a sunny spot will be the perfect afternoon.

Hope those feeling less than their best feel better as the day goes on.

Good morning from a damp Black Country, where it rained overnight.

Successful visit to Audiology, where I had the tubes changed. Apparently they are ones resistant to collecting moisture bubbles. A wander first around Merry Hill, but as it is half term it was very busy.

Should be Thursday walk this morning, but the road approaching the country park is closed this week, and not sure of the 'back' way round, so will give it a miss.

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Morning everyone, it’s grey and drizzly here in S E Essex.

My appointment to have my stitches removed yesterday was a mixture of good and bad, the stitches have been removed. Unfortunately there is a section in the middle which hasn’t healed/come together as they would have liked so I now have industrial strength tape holding the wound, on the upside the dressing is much smaller and allegedly waterproof, back to straight leg, hopefully by Monday (next appointment) all will be better.

Sorry you are coping with yet another cold Bellasnana hopefully your boys will be good for you.

MaryDoll I do enjoy your novellas.

(((Hugs))) to all in need 🙋‍♀️

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it rained heavily last night but is damp now and although not sunny, Alexa says it will be 13°C today. At last! Some warmth!

The Boy Wonder has a day at sports camp, L’il Miss and mum are having a play date and lunch with friends, our new sofa is being delivered late morning by John Lewis and it’s Thursday = date night. We fancy going into the Irish themed pub newly opened last weekend over on the train station platform for drinks and a nosy. Then to my favourite Italian round the corner from there.

I’ve finished ‘Strange Sally Diamond’ which I didn’t enjoy. It was tense but unsettling and the ending was just a car crash of unbelievable happenings. Time to select a novel of my own choosing! I think I’ll go for the latest Anne Tyler, released last week which I’m sure will be more soothing and I love her writing. Contentment awaits. 😁

Good morning everyone from a very overcast and wet Northampton, but 11°C this morning so a lot milder.

Got a few odd jobs done yesterday morning, had an early lunch then off to the cinema to see Bridget Jones. I have to say I was not mightily impressed, and found her irritating and annoying, and just could not join in with the laughter from other cinema-goers. I thought the best thing was Hugh Grant! And also the special cocktail I forgot I had ordered and was waiting for me at the bar when I arrived! It was Prosecco and something else, with strawberries and a pink sherbet encrusted glass, and was very nice.

Cinema again this afternoon to see David Tennant 's Macbeth which I hear is very good - wonder which cocktail they would offer with that ? A Bloody Mary?!!!

Liberty, have just been looking at pictures from your cruise on a Facebook page, looks lovely.

Must shake a leg, as Sainsburys are delivering shortly.

Have a good day everyone.

Taichinan Thu 20-Feb-25 08:46:17

Good morningMick and all from 9° rising to 11° on the Angus coast -accompanied by the ubiquitous rain showers and brisk breeze. Our amateur weatherman has just told me that it's going to be like this until April into May 😳
Nothing to report from me - tai chi this morning and then no doubt watching some TV from behind closed eyes as they didn't close nearly enough last night.
Germs from little nursery school goers can be very potent Bella - the absolute worst cold I ever had was courtesy of a then six months old DGD1.
Wonderful holiday stories of sunnier climes from our travellers - such a shame we can't see the photos.
Madeleine I'm glad you're feeling a bit better today and that you managed to get to your whist drive last night.
Have a good day everyone and may we all see a little ☀️, however fleeting x

Beechnut Thu 20-Feb-25 08:58:45

Good morning everyone from Severnside. It has just tipped down with rain so we are in for a soggy day. I expect the local dogs will be wearing their coats.

I’ve some ironing to do and then I’m going to see about sorting my airing cupboard. All part of decluttering.

First of all though I’m going to have another cuppa and catch up with your morning news.

Have a good day all 🌧️☔️🙄

Gingster Thu 20-Feb-25 08:59:58

Good morning all feeling milder but damper here in Essex.

Yesterday Dh sold our old MG - hoorah! It was just deteriorating in the garage and it’s ‘weight off’. He came straight home and was very pleased with himself, as was I.

I did very little while he was away. I felt very tired and lethargic - I had walked a lot the day before, so after walking the dog, I read a lot of my book and watched a couple of episodes of ‘Hacks’, very funny.

Today I have bowls and will pick Dd and DGD up and bring them back here for an afternoon of baking.

Well done Liberty with your crafting. It’s fun to do something different. I always joined the craft group on cruises we’ve been on and have surprised myself with things I’ve created. 😳. Enjoy your wander and coffee. ☀️☕️.

Glad you’re feeling better Madeleine .

Take it easy today Bellasnanna, if you can. Just let the boys play. 🤧.

GG sorry to hear you’re still in discomfort.

Take care all

GrannySomerset Thu 20-Feb-25 09:13:59

A very wet morning means that I can’t see how dismal the insides of the windows have become and my plan to tackle this job has evaporated. When/if the sun shines I will be shamed into activity but can retreat to reading old letters with a clear conscience. Hope to rediscover my enthusiasm for life before too long, meanwhile I enjoy the activities of others in this group.

hollysteers Thu 20-Feb-25 09:41:22

Good morning Mick and all from a damp 12°C northwest coast.
Good lunchtime recital yesterday, a string ensemble and big turnout.
Picked up specs from optician, but the gradient is not right, I want to be able to wear them indoors and they are just too dark.
I will be getting a bag together for my trip south with DD, back next Tuesday and will see my Dsister and BIL.

Thoughts to Bella madeleine and all🌺

Blossoming Thu 20-Feb-25 09:52:52

Good morning everyone. It’s ages since I’ve posted here but I do try to read your posts. My health is now very poor and I don’t really have anything much to share

It’s raining here, I am having yet another day in bed, seems to be the norm at the moment.

RosieandherMaw Thu 20-Feb-25 09:56:32

Good morning from damp but milder N Bucks and gentle hugs to so many of you feeling poorly or in pain.
Todays highlight is going to be lunch with 5 friends from my Art History course. We’re meeting halfway between Bedford where 3 of them live and my village. I’m driving “our” three so no wine for me. Sadly one of my passengers is very deaf and becoming very forgetful, possibly even showing signs of dementia which saddens me as she has always had a razor sharp intellect. It is so hard to see, isn’t it?
Anyway, there should still be lively conversation from the rest of us and I hope she enjoys it.
Wishing you all a pleasant day.

Hope our poorlies get better soon and those with worries get relief.
I too, enjoy your posts even though I seldom do anything worth mentioning. Although I am lunching locally with a friend today and I’m going back to Pilates this evening for the first time in 9 weeks. Wish me luck 😂.

Good morning to u all I’m late as I’ve been to Morrisons with dad . He goes every Thursday and needs to leave at 8.30 sharp. He’s a creature of habit and he likes me to go to have company although once we get in there he’s off like a rocket and I don’t see him then until we are by the car 😳. I always have an Asda delivery Friday morn so just got milk bread etc and did pick up a pretty little outfit for my 6 mth old granddaughter Morrisons have lovely children’s clothes. Bella hope u feel better soon I know how difficult it is to take care of the grandchildren when you’re not well . Hugs to anyone who may need one and Enj your day
