(64 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
A dark but wet start here in brackley this morning.
I hope to do my usual bus trip to Bicester this morning, yesterday someone said hello to me ,but did not recognise them as its over 20 plus years since I took early retirement from work .
Health Is Ok ,
Take Care,
Mick
🥂🎂 to the Baubles and Annapops. Enjoy the celebrations.
Celebration weekend Baubles
Just sun hats!!
Good morning from N Bucks where it is grey but fair- definitely milder but not yet Springlike.
Up and dressed by 8 as the boiler service will happen “between 8 and 12” - with my luck it will now be 12 but if I had taken the extra time to wash my hair, he’d have been on the doorstep at 8.01. Such is life.
I know I won’t settle to anything useful until he has been so at great personal sacrifice it may have to be my current book.
Happy Golden Wedding, safe travels, and a peaceful day to all as appropriate.
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. It's been windy all night and wet.
More clearing today and I am to make a short PowerPoint on Monday about my own creative life! This will be the 3rd time this year I have given a talk at U3A.
I heard that DGS2 is off school all week laid low with flu poor lad. It's his final
year.
Dear Iris. She has a lot to cope with gMattie
I hope you don't need all your layers for the cel
Good morning Mick and everyone from a very damp Carlisle where it has rained during the night and probably will again later, the clouds are heavy-looking.
I had a bad night's sleep, kept awake by painful kidneys, I suppose I need to contact the surgery once more....The only good thing about it was listening to an interesting serial on BBC Sounds.
Yesterday, I had a morning of little jobs and a bit of admin. In the afternoon, I went to a U3A talk, interesting as usual plus I had a chat with other members. Home to do not much. I watched one of those programs on surgeons later and felt grateful for having, so far, been dealt a better hand in life than the patients featuring.
I have a Tesco delivery later this morning and then I'll see....I'm hoping I don't have to go out and have a face to face at the surgery.
Wishing you all a good day.
Annapops Happy Birthday 🥳🎂🥂 enjoy the family time and the Murder Mystery, what a good idea
Happy birthday Annapops 🎂🎉🎁 enjoy your weekend with family.
Good morning Mike and all busy GN's on a cold and windy, but so far dry, morning in North Yorkshire
Things must be improving and going towards spring as I read everyones posts, and people travelling and gardening and baking etc. A cheering read, to start the day.
Well sorry that I start with a mixed bag rather than all good. But have to tell you to explain my writing today. I have lost my reading glasses!! It is driving me crazy and a good job I can touchtype or couldnt be writing this!! Especially at the moment with my cataract problems, I really need them to read anything but especially things like instructions for cooking or being able to read my local paper etc. I am normally very careful and at the moment , finding moving very painful, I have got a small carrying bag with all the necessities for the moment, so radio times, calendar, diary bits and pieces and opened the glasses case and they were not there!
Well there is always the silver lining of course. So I have been retracing my steps from bed to kitchen etc, but with more care, especially watching where I am walking. the thought of stepping on them is worrying. I have a big magnifying glass which is heavy but helpful, but am very loath to go and buy another flipping pair as they will be no use and cost a lot for just the time between now and the operation, but do not think I can manage like this for weeks . I am so annoyed with myself and keep checking in coat pockets which I have already checked because I just cant believe they have disappeared into thin air. (Do any of you find yourself doing that? You know that you checked it not 30 minutes ago but chose to wonder if you checked both pockets etc,. Infuriating)
However the silver lining is that I am finding a few other things that have disappeared behind cupboards etc., and it is ensuring that slowly lots of rather untidy spaces are getting sorted. My bedroom looks tidier than it has for years! So it is plodding on room by room looking for them, and hopefully at least things will all look better and there will be various things that need looking at but as there is no chance of being able to study small print. My ironing is probably going to finally get top billing as I will be able to do that without brilliant eyesight, so I also will have a selection of clothes to choose from at the end of the exercise.
I have been listening to composer of the week and it is Benjamin Britten's early works. I enjoy his work and have sung a lot of it, so it is interesting to hear some works that I dont know at all. Hurray for the radio and all kinds of music. I have of course listened to my Bach before 7 today but just been singing Patsy Klein Crazy to myself so it will be a day of singing too, of things that I d=nt need the music to look at. So hope everyone has a good day, oh I do wish the travellers could send us some sunshine!! So good to hear that Ladyleftfiedlover arrived safely in australia and hope Ginny has a good trip home. Bellasnana no need to apologise, that is what friends and gransnetters are for. We are able tot alk about whatever is happening at the time whether it is a really deep problem or something happy, but I definitely agree that the feelings when you have a cold are horrible and you are entitled to feel rough and talk about it. Hope the day improved for you all
Morning from a damp S Hants, it’s been raining, more is due.
Happy Golden Anniversary baubles have a smashing weekend.
I’m pleased to see your ‘health ok’ Mick on your morning opening.
Another one wondering about Mizuna
My hygienist appointment today has been cancelled, rescheduled to 17th March, much in demand it seems.
So, I might get on with some seed sowing indoors, no propogator like karmalady I just use the spare bedroom, seems to work.
Pub tonight as usual
🦩🦩
Happy anniversary *Mr. and Mrs. baubles.
Corner, sadly not. Poor Iris has a random mutation causing a genetic condition called NF2 - neurofibromatosis Type 2.
She will have to be followed for the rest of her life unless they can correct this one, solitary, misfunctioning gene.
Operations to match her legs until her adulthood are on the cards, plus anything else which can be corrected and make her life more like other people’s.
Good morning from a grey and windy NE.
Sister and BIL visited yesterday and took me to get some shopping.
Nothing planned for today so will catch up with TV series I recorded.
Happy Golden anniversary to the baubles
Have a good day.
Good morning from County Durham.
Today all 17 of us are off to a market town about 90 minutes drive away to stay in a converted Town Hall to celebrate my 70th birthday. It coincidences nicely with the schools half term break so we can all enjoy a long weekend together.
By this evening everyone should have arrived so we'll probably just order takeaway for our first night. Meal out tomorrow plus our Murder Mystery which DH has been excitedly preparing. Fingers crossed all goes to plan.
Wishing all a peaceful day.
Good morning all a wet Black country.
No plans today will carry on with my reading after a bit of housework.
Happy Golden Anniversary Baubles 🥂🍾🎉.
Safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed ☀️.
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a very mild but breezy South Yorkshire. Rain is expected. I had a really good outing with the walking group yesterday - the rain stopped as I got out of the car. There’s a very bold robin that always comes and flits around us at our gathering place and he sat still long enough yesterday for me to take a photo. I must take him a few mealworms next week as a thankyou! I had hot chocolate from the coffee stop before going to DDs for lunch, then I came home and made a date and walnut cake. Today, giving the kitchen a good clean.
Congratulations for your big anniversary tomorrow, Baubles! Enjoy your holiday.
Have the best day you can, folks.
Morning everyone, as Redcar has posted it’s grey and damp.
The Imp and 10yr old are here today, DH will do the running round, I will read stories and provide cuddles from the comfort of my sofa.
Poor Iris grandMattie she has had a lot to cope with so far.
How you feel better soon Bellasnana
Happy Anniversary for tomorrow Baubles
🙋♀️
Yet another miserable grey day with heavy showers forecast. Oldies coffee morning to which I take my neighbour with Altzheimers, a mixed experience if she is feeling particularly wayward. No other plans but it is light notably later this week so spring is definitely on its way.
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10°, wet and windy. I have woken up with a headache. Baubles have a lovely weekend and happy anniversary for tomorrow to you both.
Yesterday I pottered about then went to the school library for a couple of hours. Dgs1's teacher has asked me to read a story to the infants on World Book Day, so I shall have to decide which would do.
Today I'll go to the pharmacy to pick up my prescription and the library to return books and borrow new ones. A quiet day overall. Have a good day all.
Good morning all. A miserable stormy day in Glasgow.
It has been impossible to get anyone out sooner than 6th March to have a look at my loose fence panel which fortunately is at the gable end of the house. I have propped it up with two heavy wooden sun loungers between fence and wall thank goodness otherwise present high winds would have loosened it further, probably collapsing. Fingers crossed it holds.
An at home day as my car battery needs replacing. It will be collected this morning so no transport today and I won’t be venturing out in this awful weather.
Remember Billy Connelly’s quote baubles….nothing wrong with our weather, just wear appropriate clothing. More importantly, enjoy being with your family.
Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary to you both for tomorrow. 🎊
Best wishes to all for a good day and a better one for those struggling with worries and illness
Good morning everyone.
Happy Golden Anniversary for tomorrow baubles 🥂🍾🎉
Morning from Thatcham. 🐱 and guinea 🐷 sitting while family are on holiday. Will go to library and go on computer then cafe for dinner. Have a great day everyone
Good morning from Lanzarote where we are about to dock in Arrecife. Another lovely sunny day expected with highs of 21,just the kind of temperature that suits us.
Off on an island tour after breakfast. No facility yet to post photos! Hope today is a good one for all.
Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s eventually reached double figures at 10° but wet and windy
Not much chance of gardening this morning so I’m off to an aerobics class at the gym and then a bit of food shopping
Well done with your walking redcar sounds like good steady progress
Safe travels ginny, baubles and everyone else on the move today
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Good morning from Durham. A windy day, meaning it’ll feel cooler than the actual temperature.
Water bill arrived yesterday, with a substantial increase.
DD2 and I have our regular nail appointments early afternoon, no doubt she’ll have more laundry for me, then I’ll nip into Newcastle for a wander and treat myself to coffee and a flapjack.
Best wishes to all. X
