I hope to do my usual bus trip to Bicester this morning, yesterday someone said hello to me ,but did not recognise them as its over 20 plus years since I took early retirement from work .
Health Is Ok ,
Take Care,
Mick

Hello everyone from Sydney. It’s not morning but afternoon! It’s raining heavily but it’s warm. My sister, bro in law and I are going to see a comedienne tonight. I hope I don’t nod off. I’ve just packed a bag for the weekend. We’re setting off early tomorrow morning for a long drive to my brother’s place.

Have a good day!

ginny Fri 21-Feb-25 06:05:36

Good evening.
Travelling home from Cape Town later today . Wish we could just click our fingers and be home.
Good day wished for all.

Bellasnana Fri 21-Feb-25 06:09:11

Good morning from Malta where it is cloudy with a high of 15°C predicted.

Yesterday it rained all day so we were confined to barracks but the boys are always happy just playing and cuddling so the day passed ok even though I didn’t feel well.

Thank you all for your very kind comments, I know a cold is trivial in the great scheme of things and others are struggling with real illnesses, so I apologise for grumbling.

I’m still sneezing and streaming but feel a bit better today so should manage fine with the boys. They go to nursery this afternoon and the co-grandparents will take them which saves me a trip.

I’ve got the plumber coming back for the third time as the loo is still leaking from the back but it’s so slight you can’t see where it’s coming from. He fixed the flushing but caused this leak.

DD3 s off to Italy this evening so I will be on duty with the lads tomorrow, hoping for nice weather so I can get them out. They love to be out and about bless them.

Have a lovely day all, enjoy your travels those of you on holiday, and take care everyone.☀️

Good morning from a blustery Bristol. It’s milder but unpleasant.
I had a good tai chi class yesterday. The teacher had a CD of birdsong instead of the usual gentle music. It certainly was a change.
DD came to dinner quite late but didn’t stay very long as she was going to see the latest Brigit Jones with her SiL in town. The girls are with their father in Brighton visiting his cousin; her girls are the same age.
We had a bit of a chat; she gave me the latest on Iris. Another operation is on the cards, to replace the non-functioning telescopic metal splint inside her tibia. They will take the opportunity to remove some plates and screws, which will make her ankle less lumpy.
I’ve got an empty today but am minded to make lemon marmalade with the gorgeous fruit at the greengrocer.
Have a good day. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

mum2three Fri 21-Feb-25 06:17:57

Good morning from Lancashire. Wet and windy again this morning but the higher temperatures make life much easier.

grandMattie Fri 21-Feb-25 06:19:30

Bellasnana, I always get fractious with a cold because I feel more unwell than I know I am…

karmalady Fri 21-Feb-25 06:24:35

Good morning from s somerset, dull, wet and windy all day today

I cannot see me going out today and can retain cheerfulness at home by hopping from one thing to another. A bit of housework, a bit of spinning, a bit of baking and so on. I will sow some more seeds again today, spring is around the corner and I am doing that indoors, very tidily of course

My organic veg is coming this morning and I will get on and juice carrots, celery, beetroot, lemon and ginger this morning. Enough for three days. I need to make some kefir too and some more granola. Yesterday I made some blueberry and gooseberry crumbles. I am on a mission to make enough space in my freezer for my new berry crops in june. Nothing holds the nature cycle back

Have a good day

RosesandLilac Fri 21-Feb-25 06:44:20

Good morning from a wet and blustery hillside in south Glos 🙄
The dog and I had a very windswept walk yesterday morning, ending in getting thoroughly soaked at the end, at least it wasn’t cold! We did a fraction under 4 miles, so very pleased with that. So far I have clocked up 13 miles this week. I would like to aim for 15 every week if I can.
The heating engineer is coming this morning, he popped in yesterday and said he’ll service it today. I’m meeting a friend for coffee so DH will be here, I’ll empty everything out of the airing cupboard before I go.
Oh for some sunshine 🌹

baubles Fri 21-Feb-25 06:55:26

Good morning from rain soaked South Lanarkshire.

Well the car is stuffed to the gunwales! I could feed the five thousand and still have leftovers with the food I’ve prepared (and bought). I’ve enough books, games and craft materials to stock several classrooms and have clothes for every kind of weather that a a February day in Scotland could possibly throw at us.

Fifty years ago tomorrow we were married on a beautiful, still, almost springlike day. So many beloved people who celebrated with us are no longer here but we are truly blessed to be able to spend the next few days with our family. I’m so very grateful.

I may not be able to pop in over the weekend, internet is rather unstable on the shores of Loch Tay I’m told.

Wishing all of my granspals as good a day as health and circumstance allow.

kittylester Fri 21-Feb-25 06:56:23

Good morning all from North Leicestershire. The theory is that it will be milder today but windy too.

We have DGS3 and his sister (DGD1) coming for a sleepover. The pub at the top of our road is now a fabulous Indian restaurant which is a great lure for busy teenage grandchildren! And, I don't have to cook!!

My main job before they come is to go to Sainsbury's to take back the whiskey from last night's delivery and get the security tag removed!!

Have the best day possible everyone.

cornergran Fri 21-Feb-25 07:16:32

Morning Mick, morning All from a wet and very windy corner of Somerset.

Volunteering this morning then if this weather continues hiding indoors this afternoon.

Colds are no fun bellasnana, thoroughly miserable things. Sounds a wonderful weekend ahead baubles, a special way to spend your anniversary day tomorrow. grandmattie I’m sorry there’s another operation on the horizon for iris. Should it be the last?

Hope Friday is kind to us all.

Redcar Fri 21-Feb-25 07:22:19

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s light, mild and damp out, although I don’t think it’s raining at the moment. I had a slightly longer walk yesterday, and ached afterwards, but in a good way. I’ll walk to the pharmacy with my repeat prescription this morning, may extend it into a longer walk again, but will see how I feel.
baubles enjoy your weekend, you are well prepared for the weather!
I hope mizuna is ok, she hasn’t posted for a while.
Have the best day possible, whatever your plans are.

Georgesgran Fri 21-Feb-25 07:32:30

Good morning from Durham. A windy day, meaning it’ll feel cooler than the actual temperature.
Water bill arrived yesterday, with a substantial increase.
DD2 and I have our regular nail appointments early afternoon, no doubt she’ll have more laundry for me, then I’ll nip into Newcastle for a wander and treat myself to coffee and a flapjack.

Best wishes to all. X

brook2704 Fri 21-Feb-25 07:37:23

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s eventually reached double figures at 10° but wet and windy
Not much chance of gardening this morning so I’m off to an aerobics class at the gym and then a bit of food shopping
Well done with your walking redcar sounds like good steady progress
Safe travels ginny, baubles and everyone else on the move today
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Liberty Fri 21-Feb-25 07:39:36

Whingey Fri 21-Feb-25 07:39:51

Good morning everyone.

Happy Golden Anniversary for tomorrow baubles 🥂🍾🎉

Kalu Fri 21-Feb-25 07:53:50

Good morning all. A miserable stormy day in Glasgow.

It has been impossible to get anyone out sooner than 6th March to have a look at my loose fence panel which fortunately is at the gable end of the house. I have propped it up with two heavy wooden sun loungers between fence and wall thank goodness otherwise present high winds would have loosened it further, probably collapsing. Fingers crossed it holds.
An at home day as my car battery needs replacing. It will be collected this morning so no transport today and I won’t be venturing out in this awful weather.

Remember Billy Connelly’s quote baubles….nothing wrong with our weather, just wear appropriate clothing. More importantly, enjoy being with your family.
Happy Golden Wedding Anniversary to you both for tomorrow. 🎊

Best wishes to all for a good day and a better one for those struggling with worries and illness

Grandmabatty Fri 21-Feb-25 07:57:18

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 10°, wet and windy. I have woken up with a headache. Baubles have a lovely weekend and happy anniversary for tomorrow to you both.
Yesterday I pottered about then went to the school library for a couple of hours. Dgs1's teacher has asked me to read a story to the infants on World Book Day, so I shall have to decide which would do.
Today I'll go to the pharmacy to pick up my prescription and the library to return books and borrow new ones. A quiet day overall. Have a good day all.

GrannySomerset Fri 21-Feb-25 07:57:55

Yet another miserable grey day with heavy showers forecast. Oldies coffee morning to which I take my neighbour with Altzheimers, a mixed experience if she is feeling particularly wayward. No other plans but it is light notably later this week so spring is definitely on its way.

GrannyGravy13 Fri 21-Feb-25 08:02:32

Morning everyone, as Redcar has posted it’s grey and damp.

The Imp and 10yr old are here today, DH will do the running round, I will read stories and provide cuddles from the comfort of my sofa.

Poor Iris grandMattie she has had a lot to cope with so far.

How you feel better soon Bellasnana

Happy Anniversary for tomorrow Baubles

🙋‍♀️

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a very mild but breezy South Yorkshire. Rain is expected. I had a really good outing with the walking group yesterday - the rain stopped as I got out of the car. There’s a very bold robin that always comes and flits around us at our gathering place and he sat still long enough yesterday for me to take a photo. I must take him a few mealworms next week as a thankyou! I had hot chocolate from the coffee stop before going to DDs for lunch, then I came home and made a date and walnut cake. Today, giving the kitchen a good clean.
Congratulations for your big anniversary tomorrow, Baubles! Enjoy your holiday.
Have the best day you can, folks.

monk08 Fri 21-Feb-25 08:06:20

Good morning all a wet Black country.
No plans today will carry on with my reading after a bit of housework.
Happy Golden Anniversary Baubles 🥂🍾🎉.
Safe travels those on the move and virtual hugs where needed ☀️.

Annapops Fri 21-Feb-25 08:08:26

Good morning from County Durham.

Today all 17 of us are off to a market town about 90 minutes drive away to stay in a converted Town Hall to celebrate my 70th birthday. It coincidences nicely with the schools half term break so we can all enjoy a long weekend together.

By this evening everyone should have arrived so we'll probably just order takeaway for our first night. Meal out tomorrow plus our Murder Mystery which DH has been excitedly preparing. Fingers crossed all goes to plan.

Wishing all a peaceful day.
