Thank you Marydoll

Marydoll Sun 02-Mar-25 12:29:44

Hopefully the sunny weather will help your low spirits, whywhywhy. It is so hard to deal with family sadness. I hope you see your granddaughters soon.

Good morning from a very sunny and spring like midlands.

Just made a chicken and mushroom pie for tea tonight.

Slept well last night but the black dog is still biting at my heels.

Love to all. Hope you feel better soon Marydoll and all who are unwell or suffering. 🤗🤗

Good morning from a rather dull Co Armagh, it’s not as cold as I expected
It’s a lovely time of year with snowdrops just over, crocus in bloom and I’ve some daffodils out
I’ve been offered a morning grocery shopping tomorrow, but asked could we go for a walk in a NT garden instead , some are still clearing up the storm damage , but I hope one is open
Today is a nothing day , first Sunday of the month Mass is in a different Chapel out of my walking range , so I go online , but it isn’t the same
Thinking of the sad or poorly xx

Good morning from a dry and milder NE.
DS came gesterday afternoon after dropping GD off at her friend's house where they had a meal before going to the theatre.
One of the other mothers dropped GD off at mine, it was late but GD still wanted to play the piano. I told her we should celebrate the pianos 50th birthday this month. It was bought for DD'S 6th birthday.
This afternoon DD and SIL are visiting and will stay for dinner, DD returns to Brussels tomorrow.
Have a good day.

Good morning Mick and all GN's on a grey but so far dry day in North Yorkshire. Looks chilly outside but no frost like yesterday.

Bellasnana, I hope you get good news about the baby soon, and that your niece gets the help she needs. You are doing a sterling job with the little ones you look after, and I am sure they are grateful to have such support.
Baubles , I hope you will soon feel better with a rest and some TLC. I think we somehow manage to keep going when we are needed and it is only later that it rather hits us. Partly , I think, because whilst we acknowledge the years going by in age, our brains dont keep up and still think we have the energy to deal with things and spring back as we did 20 or more years ago! I know that I am always rather surprised - and annoyed - when I run out of energy much earlier than I expect.
Marydoll, hope you will soon be feeling a little better. It must have been so scary for you. May they soon find something to help you.

Just seen the squirrel run along the fence then up and down some of the branches in the tree and then back along the fence. So looks as though he is thinking of spring, even if there are no leaves on the tree and the rest of us are glad to be in the warm at the moment.

I am so grateful to be in less pain this morning, back to more or less the normal, and had a bit more sleep last night. Not a great night but any sleep makes such a difference , I think, in helping you cope with things. So I feel less stressed and have only plans to walk round outside if it warms up a bit, as not really getting much exercise at the moment. I hope to enjoy the day with of course all the wonderful music on radio 3 and DID and Private Passions to enjoy, whilst I plod along with the jobs. Recently it has been very much 1 step forward 2 steps back, but I actually feel that I am starting the day with the hopes of more forward than back! We shall see. Wish I could get in the car and go up to Swaledale or to Harrogate to see the crocus in the Stray, which will no doubt look lovely, but will just be glad to have a quiet day.

Have got a variety of things in the fridge so no great cooking to do today, but if I can be bothered I really should get down to making a list for Tesco to deliver, as now getting right down on things as I cant carry them as I usually do in the car, but always get frustrated with their wretched list which never seems to show what I want without a lot of tooing and froing! I also hate waiting in for the people to come , but that is just me and I probably need to get used to doing it in the future. So a happy and peaceful day for everyone , may your day bring you happiness .

Good morning from a misty W Kent, very Dickensian this morning. A quiet day, had a chat to DS yesterday on FaceTime and texts from DD2 visiting a friend whose son has autism. They had all managed an enjoyable day out in the sun.
Sending best wishes to all

Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny Northampton; I am still at DS's house where I stayed overnight after his birthday celebrations yesterday, along with DD and DS-in-law. We also had the pleasure of meeting DGD1's boyfriend for the first time.

DS made two delicious curries which were washed down by fizz, wine and beer.
After that the tv went off and we played a mad musical board game called Lyric.
I did not sleep well at all unfortunately: the curries and wine, although delicious, gave me terrible heartburn!

DD will drop me at home shortly, where I shall shower and freshen up before heading out to the arts cinema where they are screening a stage performance of Jesus Christ Superstar.

I will draw a veil over yesterday's rugby match; suffice it to say the result did not go our way....

Hope all poorly grans feel better soon.

Sweet Grandmabatty! 💙 I so enjoy your tales.

Grandmabatty Sun 02-Mar-25 08:53:32

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 5° and dry. A bit on the cloudy side. Baubles I hope you feel better soon.
Yesterday was such a nice day, spent with a good friend in the morning and my dgs2 in the evening. He was such fun.
This morning he has been to great gran canaria wearing my holiday hat, my shoes and carrying a handbag. I have had my sunglasses on too. He's very inventive and bossy! Today is dds birthday and she will be in shortly to pick up her boy and then go out as a family for the day. I'll visit mum this afternoon. I'll make a sausage casserole in the slow cooker and a lemon drizzle cake too. At the moment I'm quite content to have a wee boy sitting beside me on the 'airplane'. Have a good day all

Good morning. Syns up in N. Bucks but after a busy week I’m having a lie in. I’ll be up soon.
The diabetic course yesterday was informative and actually quite good fun. Nine quite diverse people who all , except one were happy to talk and share experiences.
DD3 arrived unexpectedly early evening so we popped down to our local Indian restaurant with her. Also booked a two day outing with her and SIL over the early May bank holiday.
Today there is correspondence to catch up with and maybe an hour in the garden for a bit of a tidy.
Later I hope to continue with a watercolour painting.
Get well soon wishes to those who are poorly, hope Marydoll can find some relief.
Wishing all a good day with a smile along the way.

Gingster Sun 02-Mar-25 08:46:45

Sunny and frosty here too in Essex.

Another one here who sat reading in the conservatory with the doors open, yesterday. It actually got too warm and I took my jumper off! 😳.

No visitors today but we’ll have Roast chicken for late lunch and then I’ll read again . Dh is full of cold so I’m keeping clear of him.

What a night you had GG.
You too Marydoll - hope you have a better day.🙏.
Bellasnanna 🙏 for your neice and her baby.

Take care all 🌱

Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chambers sand dunes northwest coast.
Quiet day yesterday and a long FaceTime with sister in the south. Her new black cat is settling in nicely.

I’m off today to an afternoon symphony concert with old friend by train. Lunch first at an Italian and I have a little gift for his recent birthday and lunch will be on me. I’ve been listening to the pieces as they are unfamiliar to me. I particularly like following them with the score, but won’t do that in the concert hall although sometimes people do.

Thoughts to FGT Bella Baubles and all🌺

Good morning from another bright, sunny and frosty Suffolk. I was looking forward to a long dog walk but woke up feeling dizzy and having double vision so am going back to bed.

DH thinks I have an ear infection so not the day I was planning! Hope all have the best day possible.

Marydoll Sun 02-Mar-25 08:35:05

Good morning all,it's 3°C here in Glasgow,

I am sorry to hear that you very have been so unwell, Baubles. Glad to hear that you are improving.💐

Prayers will be offered for your niece and her poorly baby, Bella. I suffered from PND after my three babies and also having a very unwell, asthmatic baby, and never got the support I needed. My heart goes out to your niece. 💐

I will not be going to church, I am feeling quite unwell. My mouth is getting worse, instead of better. About 5am, I awoke struggling to breath, I gave myself such a fright, positive I was on my way to meet my Maker. and I have so many outstanding tasks. 😱
Mr MD, of course, never stirred!!!
This frightening episode has left me quite discombobulated.

On a more positive note, the P.P. publicly thanked me and my young protégé from the altar last night, for the hours of mopping up we did last weekend, when we had various water features around the church, resulting in a collapsed ceiling. The old P.P would never have considered acknowledging that.
The P,P was on holiday abroad, when it happened. The young curate had no idea how to deal with it, so we were IT!
I informed the PP, that I had prayed for rain, snow and a plague of locusts at his sunny destination. 🤣

I won't be doing much today. We have a faulty ceiling light, so DH hopes to assemble the new one. I will supervise, there is too much glass involved! 🤣

For all you busy people, who have a full and busy day ahead, enjoy.

Hugs to all, who are struggling. Have an enjoyable Sunday, everyone.

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Blue sky and sunshine but too cold to sit out yet.

I only got to sleep after 3 am so feel a wreck. I'm expecting a full house today too.
Perhaps I can slip away for a nap

Welcome home pantglas I think I
missed birthdays and I was here!

Sorry you are worrying about your niece and can't help Bellasnanna but probably just keeping in touch
will be enough.

Enjoy the Spring day everyone.

Annapops Sun 02-Mar-25 08:21:33

Good morning from County Durham.

Yesterday was spent generally tidying and knitting in the conservatory. The new roof which we put on a while ago now has certainly made the space more heat efficient. In the past it would get far too hot to sit in comfortably. The room is south facing so gets the full blast from the sun. Now, on a sunny day it's just perfect. I did venture out in the sunshine too for a countryside walk. Its a joy to see those tiny shoots appearing on the trees and bushes.

Fortunately I had plenty of leftovers in the freezer to put together for dinner which freed up preparation time. I needed to free up space as shopping delivery today with extra food. We have GC staying over next week as two sets of parents will be away celebrating a friend's 50th birthday. We shall need plenty of energy in reserve caring for three.

Today we're off to Seaton Delavel Hall in Northumberland. We haven't been for a while and it will be interesting to see if there's any changes since our last visit. A whole wing has recently been restored and there is even an upside down room to explore.

How kind and thoughtful karma and GG to give away such possessions. It's lovely to think those well used tools will once again be put to good use. I'm sure your DH's would be so proud of you both.

Wishing all a peaceful day.

kittylester Sun 02-Mar-25 08:17:49

Morning all from a chilly but bright North Leicestershire.

Not a lot on here, thankfully. Roast pork and the papers.

Have the best day possible everyone.

EkwaNimitee Sun 02-Mar-25 08:13:09

Good morning Mick and everyone from cloudy Carlisle.

Yesterday was another sunny day. I went out early to one of the convenience stores for the paper, a longer walk so easily got my 30 minutes in. I'm having to try harder with exercise to combat the bone-thinning caused by the steroids I'm on but it's not easy, no idea what's going on inside.
Later, I had my usual phone chat with my sister and did some admin. The rest of the day was largely spent reading a book, one of Sanson's Shardlake novels which is much more unputdownable than my last choice which is currently sitting half read in the charity bookshop pile.

Today, I feel the need to get out, probably to one of the further garden centres, I have identified gaps that need filling. I'll get coffee whilst I'm there.
And, finally, on with that book!

Have a good day everyone.

Good morning from a chilly and very frosty S E Essex.

Well, what an interesting night! I was woken by a bleeping at 2.36am in normal circumstances I would have been up and checking the smoke detector, but as I am not up to climbing on chairs, I woke DH…

First of all he couldn’t hear the bleeping, but after a few gentle jabs in the ribs he gave in and started the hunt, it wasn’t any of the six smoke alarms, looked in toy room no obvious toy noise, eventually realised it was the carbon monoxide detector, changed the batteries, came back to bed and off it went again. He hadn’t looked properly and missed the large message END which meant we needed a new one 🤦‍♀️. So it was disabled and consigned to the garage, then he opened a few downstairs windows to locked open closed doors, turned off the boiler, none of which was done quietly.

I am exhausted, my first job today is to purchase a new one online!!

Wishing you all a peaceful and uneventful Sunday 🙋‍♀️

Good morning from a frosty sunny start here in the Black country.
Yesterday was such a lovely day I spent nearly 2hrs in the garden, mind as it was the front one a lot of time was spent talking to neighbours and passersby.
No plans today but will probably start a new book whilst sitting in my little sun trap.
Have the best day you can everyone ☀️.

Greyduster Sun 02-Mar-25 07:48:03

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a sunny South Yorkshire. Yesterday was a lovely balmy day. I got some gardening jobs done and it was nice to be outside. Lots of plants making a move now, albeit slowly. There were honeybees all over the heathers in the rockery bed. We didn’t seem to see many last year - mostly bumbles. There might be hives near by.
Today I will have a general tidy up and sort out the bits that I need for our curry lunch when DD and the menfolk come over. We may get to sit in the conservatory when the sun warms it up, or even - OUTSIDE😱!!
Have the best day you can folks.

glammagran Sun 02-Mar-25 07:45:19

Good morning - another sunny day is on the cards. I spent a lot of time reading in our unheated conservatory yesterday afternoon. It was lovely and warm though with the sun through the glass and the doors opened.

Today DD2 and her family will come over for roast beef dinner, the first roast we have had so far this year. Next week DD1 and her family will be over as DGD1 is attending an open day at Bristol University and we are about half way between their home and Bristol.

Have a good Sunday everyone.

NannyJan53 Sun 02-Mar-25 07:44:25

Good morning from a very frosty Black Country, but with a bright blue sky.

Yesterday was quite warm in our sheltered patio for a few hours. I did housework, then went online to look for local bed retailers, as have convinced MrJ we need a new bed and mattress, and carpet too. The bed is one he bought from Ikea before we met and the bedside cabinets are attached, making it very difficult to move and clean under. Probably wait until after our holiday which is 2 weeks tomorrow.

MrJ is off on a cycle ride later, I may ring my friend to see if she fancies a walk to the park and coffee in the cafe there.

Wishing you all the best day possible.
