Good morning, there’s a frost here in south Glos but not as hard a one as yesterday, more sunshine today!
Yesterday a thick fog descended until mid morning when the sun came out. DH took the dog off for a long walk, I had an all day online art workshop and thankfully the internet behaved until the evening when it disappeared. Again. BT has finally agreed to send a new modem, so hopefully that will sort it out.
Today housework and start to tidy up the garden, it’s small but crammed with insect -loving plants so I’m mindful of not being too tidy. A few hours of pottering around outside in the sun, bliss 🥰
I will prune the roses as I go, they’re beginning to shoot, feed and weed as I go.
Wishing you all the best 🌹

Good morning everyone from the north 🏴󠁧󠁢󠁷󠁬󠁳󠁿 nest and belated Dydd Gwyl Dewi greetings!

Yesterday started mid morning after our late flight home and I simply didn’t catch up with you all until bedtime again! 🥂🍾for all the birthdays and anniversaries I missed and 💐 for the poorlies- nil carborundum and all that👏

Lovely to see Blossoming posting - you’ve a lot on your plate but like others on here, you keep buggering on as Churchill used to say 🤗

I shall be trotting out shortly to the next village for my 🗞️ and am hoping the daffs are dancing in the breeze. They were simply budding a fortnight ago and they’re such happy, uplifting flowers in full bloom 🤗

Another day at home with more washing and drying planned, some sewing prep for tomorrow and a very busy week ahead, running around after loved ones (including Mr PG)…oh I pay for my holidays folks 🤣

A peaceful Sunday for all 🙏

Good morning from Bristol. Looks like a third heavy frost before a lovely sunny day. It makes such a difference to the morale!
Ash, I hope you managed not to sleep on your bad hip. MD, may you have an unharrassed day; FGT and Himself have another happy day in their happy place… and Everyone else has a peaceful day.
My Saturday was as all other Saturdays, coffee in church then empty.
Yesterday, I was messing around trying to plan a 🌷tulip appliqué cushion for my neighbour, whose birthday is next Saturday. I shall do bits of it over the week.
Today, much of the same. As my “sewing room” is unheated, I try not to spend too much time there.
The back of my jumper is finished; the one I tripped over in the eye hospital. It is going to look great.
Have a blessed Sunday everyone. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from Malta where we are promised a cloudy, hazy, humid day with a high of 18°C.

It was hot in the sun yesterday but the wind was cold. I got a few jobs done around the home before meeting my friend for a hot chocolate. We had a good chat but I feel I was a bit of a misery as it has been a week of worries one way and another.

My niece ‘s new baby boy (born a week ago) was taken back into hospital with Group B strep, and I have been so worried about my niece who has been feeling overwhelmed at becoming a mum without the worry of a poorly baby. I wish I could go and help but I’m tied up with the boys.

Today I will go to Mass then have a chat with my friend in Leicester, after which I might go down to the garage and do a bit more sorting. A depressing task but one which needs doing.

Wishing a happy Sunday to you all.☀️

Good morning from a happy granny on the east coast of Fife where the weathers just a little windy today. I had a social worker in last week to assess me for 6 hrs a week direct payments so that I can buy in carers in order for me to access the local community, fingers crossed the council don’t turn me down like they did last year, they’re short of money, I got my social hrs reinstated after my MSP wrote to them good ole Jenny Gilruth.

I’m going to church today for the first time in ages, Bellasnana don’t worry too much about the new baby, new baby’s are very resilient even although they look so vulnerable, mum will get through this too, my daughter had the blues after her first one, it was awful to watch her depression, however 14 yrs later she can recall that period with positivity and she’s an absolutely fabulous mum

Have a good Sunday my friends love to you all 💕

Good morning from chilly South Lanarkshire.

Earlier in the week, after our family weekend away, I felt completely and inexplicably exhausted. The following day I came down with what has been the worst cold I’ve ever experienced. I’ve been ridiculously unwell, so much so that DH had to do our childminding stint on his own on Friday. Thankfully I’m back in the land of the living now but just shocked by how floored I was for several days. Is this just an age thing I wonder?

I won’t be doing anything exciting today anyway.

I’ll catch up with everyone’s news now and wish you all the best day possible.

Good morning from s somerset, freezing cold just now but it will be sunny all day

Yesterday was varied, including a trip to the plot, where I always meet people, I did not stay long. I did two tip trips after dismantling two big items from the garage. I set up a tall sturdy aluminium cage in a 1m square raised bed to the side of my house, for my one and only sprout plant, no point growing more than one. I got rid of old cage bits, years old, after one of the `flexible` rods snapped

I have two boxes of carving wood in my garage to take to the mens shed. I have at long last, reached the decision to offer an excellent set of large electrical items to the people there, including a rarely used scrollsaw. All high value stuff. I will be having a look/see if they might use them, I won`t separate them but will donate them if they are keen enough. It has taken me 9 years to let them go

Up too early today and now have a resulting mess to sort. I pulled everything out from my larder unit. Its tricky to use, only opens about 6" and I need to see items more clearly. At least the kitchen will be sunny to work in

I am still wholefoods cranks based so have lots of different beans etc, All in containers for storage. I designed my last kitchen, which I do miss. Mostly it was narrow shelves behind doors

I would love to go out on a cycle ride, a short one but bravery is required to get up a hill without e power

Have a good day

Good morning everybody from Málaga where it’s still not really light yer but it’s raining so it’s grey anyway. A sad anniversary of my mum’s death 7 years ago which I shall mention to my stepfather on our daily telephone call. Doubtless I shall raise a glass to such a much loved lady sometime today. I think we plan to eat out this afternoon just not sure where.

Morning Mick, morning All from a frosty corner of Somerset. A beautiful sunny day ahead. Wonderful.

A very happy day with our grandson yesterday, his parents thought it was a more than odd way to choose to spend our anniversary, we loved it as it’s a rarity now. Many thanks for the kind wishes here.

A gentle morning before we head out for lunch, a wait and see afternoon.

It’s hard when we want to help but circumstances prevent it bellasnana, hope the little one is home soon. Good to know you’re feeling better baubles, take it gently.

Hope Sunday is kind to us all.

Good Morning from Durham. Just light and another sunny day forecast. Yesterday, I had a day of garden and garage sorting, until DD1 and family popped in on their way home. Today, DD2 is coming here with DGS2. He loves to be out in my garden, which is huge compared to his. No doubt, there’ll be a bag of laundry.
When I had builders here last year karma I gave them quite a lot of DH’s tools. I had no need for them and hope they’re being well used - as you say, expensive items.

Best wishes to all. X

brook2704 Sun 02-Mar-25 07:32:28

Good morning everyone from DD1s in Cambridge where it’s a lovely sunny start to the day wth a bit of frost on the ground
Sorry to hear you’ve been so poorly Baubles but pleased to know you’re feeling a bit better now, take it easy
We had a lovely day yesterday, it was warm enough to sit outside with coats on in the afternoon in the sunshine. The other grandparents came round and we all had a really enjoyable family dinner and then watched Paddington 3 on their big screen. Today youngest DGS has his birthday party at the local sports hall and then all the children are coming back to the house for pizzas etc. so it’ll be a busy afternoon!
FGT 💐
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

Redcar Sun 02-Mar-25 07:36:28

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s sunny, the sky is blue and clear and it’s freezing outside, minus 3 according to the garden thermometer! I may go out for a walk when the frost has gone. I didn’t go out yesterday, but had some exercise cleaning the bathroom, including the shower tray, and mopping the floor. Then I did a little gardening, cutting back some shrubs and clearing some dead leaves. I’ll try to do some more today.
bellasnana I hope your niece’s baby recovers soon from the infection, and I hope your niece can get some help for her post natal depression. We had to drop everything when DD1 became overwhelmed after the birth of her first baby, and go to help her. So I can understand your feelings at being unable to assist.
baubles there are some very debilitating germs about at the moment. I hope you’re feeling better now.
Have the best day possible everyone, hopefully a sunny day for us all.

Kalu Sun 02-Mar-25 07:43:37

Good morning all. Cloudy with light rain today in Glasgow but it does feel a tad milder. On the bright side, daylight until at least 6.00pm is very welcome.

Disaster yesterday when raising my clothes pulley, the rope snapped and a full load of washing landed on the floor. Fortunately there was enough rope to tie it back together and rehang the washing. The flat feeling I had for the last couple of days has lifted yet again and I’m beginning to understand the pattern of highs and lows and just to go with the flow to ride out the lows.

What a rotten week you have had baubles and I’m pleased to hear you are on the mend. Look after yourself and take it easy.
FGT A poignant day for you and your stepfather.💐

Best wishes to all for a good day.

NannyJan53 Sun 02-Mar-25 07:44:25

Good morning from a very frosty Black Country, but with a bright blue sky.

Yesterday was quite warm in our sheltered patio for a few hours. I did housework, then went online to look for local bed retailers, as have convinced MrJ we need a new bed and mattress, and carpet too. The bed is one he bought from Ikea before we met and the bedside cabinets are attached, making it very difficult to move and clean under. Probably wait until after our holiday which is 2 weeks tomorrow.

MrJ is off on a cycle ride later, I may ring my friend to see if she fancies a walk to the park and coffee in the cafe there.

Wishing you all the best day possible.

Good morning - another sunny day is on the cards. I spent a lot of time reading in our unheated conservatory yesterday afternoon. It was lovely and warm though with the sun through the glass and the doors opened.

Today DD2 and her family will come over for roast beef dinner, the first roast we have had so far this year. Next week DD1 and her family will be over as DGD1 is attending an open day at Bristol University and we are about half way between their home and Bristol.

Have a good Sunday everyone.

Greyduster Sun 02-Mar-25 07:48:03

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from a sunny South Yorkshire. Yesterday was a lovely balmy day. I got some gardening jobs done and it was nice to be outside. Lots of plants making a move now, albeit slowly. There were honeybees all over the heathers in the rockery bed. We didn’t seem to see many last year - mostly bumbles. There might be hives near by.
Today I will have a general tidy up and sort out the bits that I need for our curry lunch when DD and the menfolk come over. We may get to sit in the conservatory when the sun warms it up, or even - OUTSIDE😱!!
Have the best day you can folks.

monk08 Sun 02-Mar-25 08:04:14

Good morning from a frosty sunny start here in the Black country.
Yesterday was such a lovely day I spent nearly 2hrs in the garden, mind as it was the front one a lot of time was spent talking to neighbours and passersby.
No plans today but will probably start a new book whilst sitting in my little sun trap.
Have the best day you can everyone ☀️.

GrannyGravy13 Sun 02-Mar-25 08:09:48

Good morning from a chilly and very frosty S E Essex.

Well, what an interesting night! I was woken by a bleeping at 2.36am in normal circumstances I would have been up and checking the smoke detector, but as I am not up to climbing on chairs, I woke DH…

First of all he couldn’t hear the bleeping, but after a few gentle jabs in the ribs he gave in and started the hunt, it wasn’t any of the six smoke alarms, looked in toy room no obvious toy noise, eventually realised it was the carbon monoxide detector, changed the batteries, came back to bed and off it went again. He hadn’t looked properly and missed the large message END which meant we needed a new one 🤦‍♀️. So it was disabled and consigned to the garage, then he opened a few downstairs windows to locked open closed doors, turned off the boiler, none of which was done quietly.

I am exhausted, my first job today is to purchase a new one online!!

Wishing you all a peaceful and uneventful Sunday 🙋‍♀️

EkwaNimitee Sun 02-Mar-25 08:13:09

Good morning Mick and everyone from cloudy Carlisle.

Yesterday was another sunny day. I went out early to one of the convenience stores for the paper, a longer walk so easily got my 30 minutes in. I'm having to try harder with exercise to combat the bone-thinning caused by the steroids I'm on but it's not easy, no idea what's going on inside.
Later, I had my usual phone chat with my sister and did some admin. The rest of the day was largely spent reading a book, one of Sanson's Shardlake novels which is much more unputdownable than my last choice which is currently sitting half read in the charity bookshop pile.

Today, I feel the need to get out, probably to one of the further garden centres, I have identified gaps that need filling. I'll get coffee whilst I'm there.
And, finally, on with that book!

Have a good day everyone.

kittylester Sun 02-Mar-25 08:17:49

Morning all from a chilly but bright North Leicestershire.

Not a lot on here, thankfully. Roast pork and the papers.

Have the best day possible everyone.

Annapops Sun 02-Mar-25 08:21:33

Good morning from County Durham.

Yesterday was spent generally tidying and knitting in the conservatory. The new roof which we put on a while ago now has certainly made the space more heat efficient. In the past it would get far too hot to sit in comfortably. The room is south facing so gets the full blast from the sun. Now, on a sunny day it's just perfect. I did venture out in the sunshine too for a countryside walk. Its a joy to see those tiny shoots appearing on the trees and bushes.

Fortunately I had plenty of leftovers in the freezer to put together for dinner which freed up preparation time. I needed to free up space as shopping delivery today with extra food. We have GC staying over next week as two sets of parents will be away celebrating a friend's 50th birthday. We shall need plenty of energy in reserve caring for three.

Today we're off to Seaton Delavel Hall in Northumberland. We haven't been for a while and it will be interesting to see if there's any changes since our last visit. A whole wing has recently been restored and there is even an upside down room to explore.

How kind and thoughtful karma and GG to give away such possessions. It's lovely to think those well used tools will once again be put to good use. I'm sure your DH's would be so proud of you both.

Wishing all a peaceful day.

Grammaretto Sun 02-Mar-25 08:25:35

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Blue sky and sunshine but too cold to sit out yet.

I only got to sleep after 3 am so feel a wreck. I'm expecting a full house today too.
Perhaps I can slip away for a nap

Welcome home pantglas I think I
missed birthdays and I was here!

Sorry you are worrying about your niece and can't help Bellasnanna but probably just keeping in touch
will be enough.

Enjoy the Spring day everyone.

Good morning all,it's 3°C here in Glasgow,

I am sorry to hear that you very have been so unwell, Baubles. Glad to hear that you are improving.💐

Prayers will be offered for your niece and her poorly baby, Bella. I suffered from PND after my three babies and also having a very unwell, asthmatic baby, and never got the support I needed. My heart goes out to your niece. 💐

I will not be going to church, I am feeling quite unwell. My mouth is getting worse, instead of better. About 5am, I awoke struggling to breath, I gave myself such a fright, positive I was on my way to meet my Maker. and I have so many outstanding tasks. 😱
Mr MD, of course, never stirred!!!
This frightening episode has left me quite discombobulated.

On a more positive note, the P.P. publicly thanked me and my young protégé from the altar last night, for the hours of mopping up we did last weekend, when we had various water features around the church, resulting in a collapsed ceiling. The old P.P would never have considered acknowledging that.
The P,P was on holiday abroad, when it happened. The young curate had no idea how to deal with it, so we were IT!
I informed the PP, that I had prayed for rain, snow and a plague of locusts at his sunny destination. 🤣

I won't be doing much today. We have a faulty ceiling light, so DH hopes to assemble the new one. I will supervise, there is too much glass involved! 🤣

For all you busy people, who have a full and busy day ahead, enjoy.

Hugs to all, who are struggling. Have an enjoyable Sunday, everyone.

Liberty Sun 02-Mar-25 08:42:39

Good morning from another bright, sunny and frosty Suffolk. I was looking forward to a long dog walk but woke up feeling dizzy and having double vision so am going back to bed.

DH thinks I have an ear infection so not the day I was planning! Hope all have the best day possible.
