So says an article in the Sunday Telegraph! I didn’t read it.
Even if it were accurate, I wouldn’t want to know.
Would you?

Himself just made me laugh when I told him about it…
ā€œI would love to live to see the end of the DFS sale, that will do for me.ā€

No I wouldn’t use the tool. I’d almost prefer to ask Gypsy Rose Lea on the quayside in Whitby

Oh FGT , we'll all be long gone before that !

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sun 09-Mar-25 20:57:48

🤣

I tried it. It only asks your age and sex so it doesn’t take any account of any morbidities you have. I’ve just tried it out for my 97yo mum. Shes going to live to be 99, apparently, which is going to cost a fortune in care home fees!

Will I live to see the last ever episode of Call the Midwife ?

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sun 09-Mar-25 21:12:52

Well I intend to live forever. And to date it's working.

I don’t want to know, am hoping that when the grim reaper pays a visit will be unexpected and sudden.

Granmarderby10 Sun 09-Mar-25 21:14:43

Meant to write tune in 🤭

I did something similar ...said I would die at 71 ....I'm nearly 60 .... have to wait and see

crazyH Mon 10-Mar-25 00:19:19

Babs03 - me too

I know my death age without the calculator.
I have instances of premonitions, they just flash into my thoughts!
I can't explain them? My death age 73 and my husband's is 82.
Trouble is I won't be here to win my bet with hubby if I'm right. šŸ™ƒ

Although I don't know the exact date I have been told by my Oncologist that I won't see next Christmas. I sort of wish I didn't know that!! But at least I know not to renew my subscriptions!

Oh Unigran that’s a heartbreaking post.
I’m so very sorry to hear this. I hope you have family and good friends to confide in for support and hopefully to cheer you too when you need it.

Iam64 Tue 11-Mar-25 13:58:11

Unigran 🌸

Unigran, that’s so hard for you and a wake up call to us all to be thankful for each day we’re here and to make the most of it, even in the smallest of ways.
I don’t know your circumstances but a friend was given 10 months and through the wonders of modern medicine is still here 5 years later. Not cured, but stabilised.
Words aren’t enough but I wish you all the best. 🌷

Labradora Tue 11-Mar-25 15:02:41

That you can joke about it even a little speaks volumes about you(in a good way) Unigran4.

So sorry. "Bon Courage"

I did something similar, but it asked lots of questions. Apparently I will go at 87!

Beebee24 Tue 11-Mar-25 15:23:31

Unigran, please don't believe what your oncologist says. I have also had cancer and purposely didn't ask for a prognosis because I knew my case was a difficult one but I have read about so many people who have been given just a few months and who have gone on to live for years. I certainly hope that you will be one of them.

missdeke Tue 11-Mar-25 16:28:01

My only thought on death is please don't let me die before I finish reading my book, I always start another immediately I finish the book, so the grim reaper would have to be quick to get me between books.

Iam64 Tue 11-Mar-25 16:28:11

Oncologists know their stuff but we are all individual so sometimes live longer or less than anticipated

Allsorts Tue 11-Mar-25 16:36:25

Miracles happens, no one knows for sure. Just hope when its ny time its swift.
