Good Morning Monday 10th March 2025
(50 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
A dark but dry morning here in brackley.
Up to my usual routine with a bus trip to Bicester , returning for lunch and cycling on TV.
Health OK,
Take Care,
Mick
Blossoming💕
Borrheid, my lovely stalker!, I would have waved if I knew you were watching.😂
I will have you know, have a special dispensation for walking and talking on altars.😉
( I was actually dealing with church business.)
I hope today is not too upsetting for you. 😘
Good morning Everyone. I had more falls over the weekend, nothing serious but now MrB is watching me like a hawk. I know he’s right but I hate having to be helped to the bathroom. The shower room is partly completed, looking forward to it being finished. I’m now thinking I may need extra grab handles but that isn’t a big job.
Happy Monday. 🌹
Litterpicker thank you! I’m not good at asking for help which doesn’t help!
Borrheid, I hope your counselling session is some help 🌷
Good morning from West Sussex by the sea. The sun is breaking through the cloud so I will be outside shortly, continuing to clear the garden for the new season. I cut down my tall stipa on Saturday - I promised a clump to a friend when I divide it so I hope I can manage that (DH tried last spring and only got a few tiny bits from the edge). I have a lovely pot of daffodils but everything else looks a bit sad.
Lovely pub lunch yesterday with DD1, SiL, DGS1 and the other grandpa. It will be DGS’s 19th birthday on Wednesday. We had a walk on the beach after lunch with sunshine but also a cold east wind so maybe this week’s drop in temperature won’t be such a shock.
Glad to hear your sister-in-law was able to enjoy your visit yesterday, Bonniebanko.
Good wishes to all.
Morning all from an overcast Kent. Yesterday was so lovely, DH gave the grass a cut. I long for summer. Marydoll I just saw you on the church webcam having a natter on the altar steps. We were never allowed on the altar when I was a child. When we had our blessing there in August ‘92, I felt quite privileged to stand there having photos taken! Hope you have a better day health wise.
I have a phone appointment with a counsellor at 12.30. I’m hoping that I can resolve the low mood and weepiness that I have had since before Christmas. It’s taken so long to go through the hoops that the NHS insist on , only to be referred to a ‘low cost, external’ service! I despair for those without a ‘guid Scottish tongue in their heid’ ( as my granny would say) who can’t speak up for themselves!
DH on night shift again this week so disturbed sleep. He comes home around 04:30 noisily and then comes to bed about 06:00 again noisily. I don’t settle very well when he’s not here. Hopefully next week he will be on days but who knows? He is the ‘standby’ so fills in for holidays and sickness cover.
Have a good day all.
À late good morning all. A dry but colder windy day is forecast in Glasgow today.
Sleeping pill was required by 2.30am after which I slept through until 9.00am.
I spent most of my day outside in glorious sunshine yesterday getting on with some garden tidying then lunch/ coffee breaks reading my book. Also two loads of washing hung out including bed linen which quickly dried. What a pity we .are not having a repeat of mild and sunny today too.
No at home days this week as I have a busy calendar showing various appointments. Thankfully none of which are at the crack of dawn….I don’t do morning if I can avoid it despite being awake early morning, I like to ease into the day at my own pace. 😄
Best wishes to all for a good day.
Good Morning from Durham. A late start as I’ve had another night of weird dreams and the roof contractor rocked up at 8am to check the job he’s starting towards the end of March.
It’s grey and murky again today, hopefully it might improve. It was much the same yesterday.
Usual coffee this morning, then I’ll get a tray of primroses and compost on my way home - there’s an empty tub to fill.
Best wishes to all. X
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. I slept in after a fitful sleep with strange dreams.
I had a letter and a phone call for my late DH, on the same day last week, so if he's haunting me please can he make it clearer 🤔
I had intended to go to the gym this morning but I have much catching up to do. I could put my mat on the carpet and do some yoga.
My friend's birthday party yesterday was wonderful. Most of them are musicians and had brought their instruments. I was audience.
Tonight another friend is singing in the Usher Hall with her community choir so I shall go and watch her.
Sorry your mouth is still so sore MD. A hard way to slim
Well done Annapops that was a labour of love.
Hope you all have a good day.
Good morning all, As Ginny says, it’s very murky and misty here - what a contrast to yesterday. Our family lunch was brilliant but I was and still am “zorsted” !
We ate out in the garden and of course the kids could let off steam. (I do wonder how they’d have been contained if we’d been stuck indoors) D3 and SIL had also taken them to the park/playground near us for a good hour in the morning!
Anyway it was all lovely, our combined birthday boy/girl ages added up to 261 but I had the Fire Brigade on speed dial!
I need to collect Rosie now, she missed out on playing with her dog-cousins Basil and Dylan- but given her size and ability to reach food without even getting up on her back legs, it was the right decision.
I have yet to read all your posts but hope that those in pain or distress are seeing light on the horizon and wish all a pleasant day.
Good morning from a misty W Kent. A bit late as I had an8.30 doctors appointment. A friend had said if I didn’t have a check up she wouldn’t speak to me again. Anyway all turned out to be well - phew
I then walked back which I haven’t done for ages so that has finished me for the rest of the day.
Cleaner here soon.
Best wishes
Good morning from a dull, dreary County Durham.
Well, that's our GC collected after their 5 day stint here while the parents celebrated a friend's 50th birthday in Tenerife and wow we have been busy. How on earth did I manage to care for three children and work full time in the past is beyond me?
Instead of the planned four nights the children have spent 5. Fog delayed the flight to Newcastle and then the plane was forced to circle for 45 minutes before a very bumpy landing late last night. The adults were very fortunate the plane was not diverted like many others.
It's been a hectic few days of school runs, world book day dress up, football training and coaching, play park plus yesterday's trip to Tynemouth Priory. Initially the weather was so misty it was like walking into the unknown. We could barely make out the shape of the priory ruins. After lunch the sun shone gloriously and the children enjoyed splashing about in the bitterly cold North Sea with a brilliant blue sky above their heads.
It's so quiet now, parents arrived early to take kiddies to school. We will be enjoying a very lazy day. No school pick up today!
Take care everyone.
Good morning. N. Bucks is looking a bit dull today so glad we made the most of the sunshine we have had.
Lovely day yesterday with DD3 and DGS3. No time schedule a garden centre visit, lunch in a pub garden and the rest of the afternoon in her garden planting what she had bought. She decided that she must be getting old as she was quite excited by the thought of planning the garden. 😀
A day of small jobs and bits & bobs for me and a short walk.
Thoughts with all who have illness or troubles and a good day wished for everyone.
P.S. Pantglas thank you, Snowdonia looked very clean and tidy in the spring sunshine!😍
Good morning from Sunnyside sand dunes northwest coast.
Very nice trip to Snowdonia yesterday in fine weather, although the coach got slightly raucous on the way back. A loud comedian driver (Lily Savage) plus pop music, plus sing a long🙄 A bit difficult to concentrate on my Evelyn Waugh short stories lol.
Snowdonia always magnificent to see and heartwarming to see children crabbing on the pier at Beaumaris (crabbing mentioned yesterday). Squeals of delight from them as I watched, eating my packed lunch. At times it actually got too hot for comfort.
Today bed changing for visitors and I will prepare songs for the music club tomorrow.
Thinking of Ashcombe and Blossoming🌺
Good morning all from a slightly misty Suffolk, where we expect sun soon but not the warmth of yesterday.
We had a lovely walk on Beccles common yesterday with the little dog. The common is huge with a golf course in the middle so yesterday was a happy mix of golfers, children on bikes and dog walkers. Parking is always difficult as it is a single lane access and Sunday has lots of rugby matches for youngsters going on. Lovely to see the children, some as young as 6 going to rugby tots,in their strips with proud parents and often grandparents attending.
I think I’m nearing the end of the holiday ironing. It’s a job I don’t like so 30 mins is all I ever do at a time. A visit to the library this morning and an afternoon in the summerhouse is on the cards for today. I hope all have a good day.
Today I’ve had to look up ‘dukkah’ karma!
‘An Egyptian condiment’.
Unknown to me - I’ve none in my cupboard next to our HP sauce!
(You can take the girl out of Old Trafford etc …) 😂
Good morning all from the sunny Suffolk seaside. Misty out at sea though.
Travelled up early yesterday and arrived by 10 to have our traditional bacon butties sitting in the garden.
The lawn had been mowed by our ‘lovely chap’ - he’d also fixed the handle on the summerhouse which Dh had pulled off in an effort to open the stuck door. What a 🌟.
I walked little pooch along the beach and a lady coming towards me said ‘there is a seal on the sands’. I asked her if it was dead (I’ve seen a few washed up) but she said ‘no, just sunbathing’. I didn’t see it as I kept the dog away.🦭.
Today we’ll walk in the forest to see all the new growth and hopefully see snowdrops and daffs.
We need to buy paint stripper to start our project of rejuvenating the garden furniture. We’ll do a bit at a time.
Enjoy your ‘jolly’ Pants.
I also think the wrong person won Pottery. I’ll miss it.
I’m glad you got through the party Bellasnanna. Well done!
Take care all 🌱
After a lovely day yesterday we have grey skies again, but can still get the washing dry outside. I have a blood pressure check soon which won’t be good news and the first of the Lent groups in church later so the day will unfold fairly predictably.
Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s dry but more chilly. Alexa says 4°C presently and ‘only’ 9°C later! Quite a tumble in temperatures after the weekend. We have no plans whatsoever so the day will unfold as it will.
Well my news is that Himself booked us some flights again last night with Mr. O’Leary. We are off to our ‘happy place’ in Málaga a week on Sunday, yay! We shall try for some sunshine this next 10 day visit. Himself wants to squish in another holiday before his next scan, mid April. 🌞 A good idea I think.
Good morning from a very windy but dry day here on the east coast of Fife.
It’s been blowing a hoollie all night long, today I’ll be having the day off from visiting my sister in law, she fair bucked up during my visit to her yesterday.
Today I’m going to make Chillie con carni with my carer, I just love cooking I’ve all the ingredients I need in the kitchen cupboard and ground mince in the fridge needing to be used up.
Have a good day and remember to smile 😁😁
Good morning all from a dull Black country.
Towels are in wash so hoping sun will make an appearance so can be line dried, the bedding dried a treat yesterday and was ironed and put away.
No plans as yet other than a couple of phone calls that need to be made.
Enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans, safe travels those on the move and thoughts with missing posters ☀️.
Good morning from a foggy NE again.
Yesterday turned out to be a pleasant day, lots of sunshine and very little breeze, SIL suggested we have a little walk which we did.
This afternoon I have an appointment with a stoma nurse, that came out of the blue, I think I have been seen three times in the nine years since my operation.
Have a good day.
