(48 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but is dry at the moment here in brackley , we are supposed to be going into a spell of colder weather .
My usual routine with the bus trip to Bicester hopefully chat to some I know .
Yesterday a electrician replaced my bathroom light with a more updated one with a more economical usage .
Health OK,
Take Care,
Mick
Good morning from a sunny Co Armagh, it’s chilly , but sunny helps
Been watering house plants for the neighbours , I hope they survive my ministrations , my house plants I water when they wilt , especially the peace lilies
Have the best day you can
RIP Auntieflo 💐
Good morning all from the Scottish Borders. Still cold after such a sunny weekend. I must catch up with all my jobs, cleaning, clearing, paying bills and Gaelic homework.
I managed to go to the exercise class yesterday which warmed me up.
The concert in Edinburgh was good but only an hour long so with an hour's bus trip each way it was more bus than song!
Auntyflo 🙏 R.l.P. condolences to her family.
I hope your protest about the overcharging and underperforming is successful grandMattie. It's quite shocking. Do they expect you to give up waiting and pay for it privately?
Hoping everyone has a good day.
Good morning all. Just to let you know I am still here leading the quiet life. Dh and I have both had colds and have been left with awful and irritating coughs, the pharmacist said there are a lot going about but not much to be done for it! I read your posts every day though and have been sad to read of the sadness and health problems some of you are experiencing. Longer days are making life much brighter as are the appearing flowers. Visit to the hairdresser this morning so must get a wiggle on. Chin up everyone.
Bed changing and laundry the only imperatives so some reading later I think. Bright but not yet sunny but worth pegging out the sheets, I think - I love the thought of free drying. Not much else on the cards but we’ll see how the day goes unfolds.
Good morning from a brighter County Durham.
Beds linen to be stripped and washed today following our young visitors departure yesterday.
I spent most of yesterday afternoon in bed and still slept like a log during the night. Just shows how much I've been running on adrenaline over the past 5 days.
Another quiet day ahead with some light exercise in-between. School pick up later, haven't decided what to cook for the merry trio yet but I'm sure something will eventually pop into my head.
Wishing all a peaceful day.
Good morning Mick and all from Sunnyside sand dunes northwest coast.
Just a quiet housework day yesterday with FaceTime with flying DD who had returned from Washington and next flight Vienna. DGD is in China, so my trip to Snowdonia is very small fry…
DD is due here next week and I made up her bed, putting a sheet between the duvet and bottom sheet so I don’t have to keep washing the duvet cover. She has a single duvet in a double cover so the sides drop down and it’s awkward to change, particularly with my no lymph nodes gammy arm.
In the evening a long FaceTime with my Dsister in the south. Her new cat has settled in beautifully.
I’m on the desk and singing at the music club this afternoon so will do a warm up, also the gardener is coming.
Sorry to hear about Auntieflo R.I.P. and thoughts to all🌺
Good morning from a cool NE where we have had overnight rain.
Appointment with the stoma nurse was good, she was happy with the way I was managing and I didn't have any queries so in and out quite quickly.
SIL booked tickets for Mahler's 5th symphony on Sunday, will be an enjoyable afternoon.
Today I should do some laundry.
Have a good day.
Good morning and it’s a beautiful start to the day here on the Suffolk coast. Still chilly though.
We had a walk in the forest yesterday , not too far as DH’s legs are weak, but he did well. Didn’t see another soul.
Dgd4 is 13 today. They celebrated at the weekend with a show and sushi in London. Not sure what they have planned today.
I’m meeting Liberty for lunch today - we’re trying a new place so hoping it’s a good one. Looking forward to seeing her.
🙏 RIP Auntieflo
Take care all 🌱
It’s the latest scam Sallyforth. Very clever really. You get a text with the order number. When the delivery arrives - often with a lot of Chinese on the accompanying invoice - you’ll see the order number on the paperwork. That probably serves the scammers well. Order number matches ‘dispatch’. Job donef there is any auditing! Happened to a friend who ordered a nice coffee table for £150. She received an envelope in the post with the matching order number. It was a bracelet made from a few plastic beads on a piece of elastic.
When Auntieflo needed help with filling an attendance allowance form (all 27 pages), DH helped her out. This was at the beginning of August 2021. She confessed at the time that she had 6 months to live.
Meanwhile, DH who was well at the time died about 9 months later. I’m glad for her and her family that she managed to do/see lot more of her loved ones than expected.
Good morning from an unexpectedly sunny Suffolk% what a lot of early posts already. As the days lengthen,so does my sleep Ithink( not luckily that sleep has ever been a problem).
Looking forward to meeting Gingster for lunch at a cafe about half way between us. We haven’t been able to meet up yet this year so a treat instore. Hope all have something to look forward to.
Good morning from a slightly brighter Black Country, where it was dull and very chilly yesterday.
Didn't go on my walk yesterday, but went to the Line Dancing.
Today no real plans, but we are going to Birmingham for a bite to eat later this afternoon/early evening, then onto the Rep for Death of a Salesman
RIP Auntieflo so sad to hear.
Good morning from a grey W Kent. Hairdressers first thing a change of style is needed now I am not wearing glasses as much. Later U3A monthly meeting. After a few bad nights I am hoping the walking required to do everything will help.
I had some messages from AuntieFlo they were so kind, I am sorry to hear the news.
Madeleine all the best for today
Best wishes to all
Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s grey, cloudy and a bit chilly
Hope all goes well today madeleine
I’m hoping to get well wrapped up and do a bit of gardening this morning and then I’ve a volunteering session this afternoon
Enjoy your lunch out today Susan56 a lovely treat from your DD
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny but frosty Carlisle.
My car windscreen is currently iced up and I have to go out soon, I'd hoped to be finished with scraping ice off.
I have an early eye test and prescriptions to collect plus various other errands to do. It strikes me that I seem to have to spend increasing amounts of time...and money..maintaining my aging body! It's got a way to go yet, top of my bucket list is a card from the king or president for my centenary...
If the weather holds up, I hope to spend some time in the garden later, suddenly there's a lot to do. I'll also continue some book sorting and dusting. Shedding some is getting hard, yesterday I only added one to the charity pile, though it was a big one. Dating from 1982 and probably not looked at since.
R.I.P Auntieflo, I liked reading your posts.
Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s a chilly start again to the day. I have an appointment at the hair salon for cut and colour this morning which means I shall be there for around 3 hours with my hair wrapped in tin foil.
My sister tells me it’s still torrential rain on the Costa del Sol and forecast for more all this week. Those reservoirs will be well topped up I imagine now.
I’ve reported him to GNHQ Ladyleftfieldlover and Marydoll
Good morning Mick and everyone from a beautiful sunny morning in Cheshire. Not a lot on today, but a visit to the hairdresser. She's fitting me in after I sent her a text to say I'd not emigrated, I've had flu!
Last night I dealt with a nightmare - not of the sleeping kind! I'd ordered a reconditioned iPhone for my GD's birthday. Quite expensive at over £500. Anyway, the doorbell rang and I took the parcel in. Rang her to tell her the phone had arrived and she hot-footed round here. Inside the parcel were... 2 bars of very cheap chocolate and a little packet of screws and an Alan key. You can imagine my panic. It's all sorted and money being refunded, but I will now purchase a phone from a store! Lesson learned.
When it was all over she said, 'Well Gran, now if it'd been a big bar of G****y I might have split the difference with them!'
Hope you all have a day. It's going to be chilly so keep warm.
What I suggested was a list if stuff. Photos are a good idea, but it’s hard to show how a night storage heaters doesn’t work!
Methinks a threat of putting our complaints on social media, the press, MP and the small claims court might help. Or getting everything done and sending the bills to the management.
I also had a message from Ben about my visit to the Machu Pichu exhibition. I didn’t respond.
Morning, high cloud and cooler in S Hants. Average day on the voluntary phone yesterday, in between calls I cleaned the oven, hob and microwave. Quiz was good last night, but our team was depleted by two, we scraped fourth.
Farm shop, collecting some plants and pharmacy later, good luck Madeleine for today

So sorry to hear the sad news about AuntieFlo. May she rest in peace.
Morning Mick, morning All. Our corner of Somerset is dry after rain late yesterday. Maybe some sun later.
More photo processing yesterday after a break from them. Mid 2021 now, it feels like the final stretch. Filled in the surgery form, should get a response tomorrow.
Grocery delivery this morning , a hair cut with dust removal in between. A visit from our granddaughters to look forward to later. The elder will drive her sister who is 16 today. Nope, no idea how that happened. There were celebrations with her friends at the weekend with more to come next weekend. We’ve opted out of a meal this evening, an inaccessible to us location with very expensive food we don’t enjoy. The family understand as does the birthday gir.
Letter writing is a good place to start grandmattie, although you shouldn’t need to. If still no success it could be worth enlisting the support of your MP and perhaps the local press. Good luck!
Have the best day you can everyone.
