Madeleine that's good to hear that you have had your op. Ladyleftfieldlover it was remiss of me not to wish your DH all the best for his op today. I hope things go well.
By special request, let’s discuss our favourite Classic Music and why?
Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but remains dry and cold here in brackley.
The usual routine , I will get the bus and go to Bicester to return and have lunch, and watch cycling on TV .
My health is OK ,
Take Care,
Mick

Lovely to read all posts and wish good health and healing to all who are suffering and recovering.
Nice to hear one OH is here in Guernsey 🇬🇬 where our weather today is chilly 8/9degrees according to car when venturing out with dog to a good dog walking area.
I’m going to enjoy a cosy read with cup of tea whilst having some alone time today.
Good to hear you have had the operation madeleine.Wishing you a successful and speedy recovery💐
A very late good morning to Mick and all GN's from a damp slightly raining and chilly north yorkshire..
Thankyou all for your good wishes for yesterday, and I have had the operation, which hopefully is going to be ok,but of course not comfortable at the moment. However, as expected, it has been my back that has caused me the most pain and hassle. Of course , it is worth it , but had a rubbish night and it has taken me most of the morning to get moving about and creaking around. Of course, cant read at the moment, so have been glad of my radio 3 and 4. Usually if my back is very bad I read. Anyway its done and hopefully you can read this ok as I can touchtype so dont need to read what I am writing.
I have slowly read all the posts and do hope that your husbands operation went well LADYLFL.. i will wish you all a very good day and say bye for now and hopefully back to normal tomorrow.
A very late good morning to Mick and everybody. It's what I would describe as a typical March/April day here on the Angus coast, with sunshine, rain, blue skies and a rainbow - but at least 10° colder. I made a quick foray down the garden yesterday and my first daffodils are now in bloom - Spring has now officially arrived.
Most of my time has been eaten up this past week by my hearing aids - or at least having the sound from my TV connected through them. But nothing is ever straightforward in this technical world is it! No sooner had the young man disappeared, so did all connections - including the phone!! Mind you, the hearing aids themselves still worked, which was something. So anyway, I WhatsApped DD down south and explained everything and she made a couple of phone calls for me and managed to arrange for someone to come out again yesterday. This duly happened and all worked perfectly, including the phone (which shouldn't have been affected anyway 🤷). Until this morning. I never switch the TV on in the morning (that would be my proverbial slippery slope) but thought it would be fun to make sure everything was still working. It wasn't! After about an hour of switching things on and off I gave up. And then a little later, as I was eating my breakfast with my back to the offending TV, this man started chatting to me. As all the doors were locked and sadly no man lives here, I almost jumped out of my skin! But I hadn't switched the TV off and everything had decided to work again. I'm not sure if this clever piece of technology is for me though. my thinking had been that I have become so used to relying on subtitles whilst watching TV that I might have become a 'lazy listener' and that my ability to hear might improve across the board if I stopped relying on them and paid more attention to what I was actually hearing rather than seeing. Enhancing the TV sound by channeling it through my hearing aids seemed a brilliant idea! Now I'm not so sure. Oh well, you live and learn I suppose.
This is my permitted (by me) lazy day but even by those standards it's time to get moving!
Susan so sorry to hear about your mum
and hope you hear better news shortly.
I hope all goes smoothly with your days everyone and you can all find a spot in the sunshine out of the wind ☀️
Georgesgran thanks👍
The tulip pyjamas in Tesco are going viral stilllearning.
Morning from Giffnock, bright and sunny at the moment. House peaceful for my breakfast as DD and DGC left early to go to mass in the school, once a week in Lent. I was surprised to see 9 year old DGS go since he said last night he doesn’t really believe in having a religion😳
I hope all goes well for you DH Llfl, he’ll be glad to get it over with.
I think I’ll head into M&S on the way home this morning, I need some new pyjamas, and have realised that I am starting to feel the cold much more than I used to.
Weekly meet up then with my lifelong pals, ill health is beginning to stalk us a bit so good to have a laugh together.
Wishing everyone the best day possible, special thoughts to those struggling quietly.
Thank you Kalu.He is being very stoical.
I had acupuncture for my shoulder years ago and found it really helped.I would definitely recommend trying it.
Sorry to hear of your mum’s fall Susan. I hope no fractures are present at least. Still, a frightening experience for her.
The physio I was doing for sciatica was actually making the pain in my knee worse so that is on hold until I have x-ray results. My DD2 has been pushing for me to try acupuncture which may be worth a try. I am applying Ibuprofen in the meantime.
I hope your DH is suffering too badly. Poor man
Good morning from cool and dry South Lanarkshire.
Yesterday was a busy one, charity shop shift where the manager and I worked on moving stock around for the spring/summer season. Fewer heavy jackets and knitwear and more tops and blazers.
Yarn group in the evening developed into a bit of a sing along to our favourite songs on Spotify as we worked. Good for the soul.
A friend and neighbour died on Monday after a long illness. She was a good, kind woman and will be missed. Her family has asked if some of her friends could make crocheted/knitted flowers for a blanket to be used at her funeral so I’ll get started on that today.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Good morning from a grey midlands. Shopping with DH today - give me strength! I used to be a medical secretary at our local hospital. Loved the job. I typed out post mortems and biopsies. Retired now. Hugs to all. 🤗🤗🤗
Good morning from a damp Black Country where it rained overnight.
Arrived home last night just before midnight, so consequently didn't wake until 8.15am! The Rep in Birmingham is a great venue, and the acoustics excellent, I heard most of the dialogue which is unusual for me, and why I usually prefer musicals.
Popped to Merry Hill yesterday and a pair of trousers and 2 tops happened to fall in my basket! Very unusual for me to buy 3 items in one shopping session.
Wishing you all the best day possible
A wakeful night for no good reason so I am half awake and grumpy. Hope to feel more positive once showered and dressed. Singing this afternoon, always good for the spirit but no other plans.
Good morning everyone from an overcast Northampton, but I have taken a chance and put the towels in the washing machine. Shall do another load afterwards of cushion covers and the two throws from the sitting room - they need freshening up for spring, and anyway I have a neighbour coming tomorrow morning for an overdue coffee and cake.
Had a lovely day yesterday in Milton Keynes with the lovely Maw - I swear we didn't stop talking except to put food and wine into our mouths! Lots of browsing the shops and money was spent....
A Sainsbury's delivery this morning, then will give the sitting room a good tidy and going over later.
Hoping all have a pleasant day.
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 3° and dry again. Hooray! Rosesandlilac I hope all goes well with the wee dog. GrandMattie you cram a lot into one day! Susan I hope all is well with your mum. Fingers crossed for her.
Yesterday was a quiet day between drop off and pick up. Both boys were on good form and dgs2 got an excellent report from the nursery. Last week, him and his two pals tried to open the gate and escape. I'm calling him Steve McQueen from now on.
Today I'm not sure what I'll do. I had a decent night's sleep although the last stretch was punctuated by odd dreams. I will see how the mood takes me. Have a good day all
Good morning from a cold and rainy NE.
SIL is coming this morning and we will do the weekly shop and he has booked a late lunch out, a nice treat.
Got four loads of laundry washed and ironed yesterday then allowed myself an evening in front of the TV.
Have a good day.
Oh GrannyIvy
I too was a medical secretary for many years. Great job wasn’t it.
Kind regards
Jill
Good morning all and it’s bright but chilly . Looking out to sea, the clouds are low and it looks like another land has appeared.
Yesterday I met up withLiberty for lunch in a very small cafe which was delightful. (The Snug, it certainly was). Food and company excellent. We chatted for a couple of hours until we had to move tables for customers who were having the afternoon tea and needed a larger table for their spread. It looked delicious. We might partake next time.
A walk and a few jobs to be done today. Nothing too pressing.
Take care 🌱
Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s sunny at present. Looks chilly out. I’m meeting a friend in the square for coffee around midday and later I’ll be getting picked up by her mum to watch L’il Miss at her swimming lesson. I do love watching her progress and of course enjoy chatting with my daughter pool side for half an hour.
Once home we plan to go out for the curry that we tried to have last night. One place shut, two dead as the proverbial dodo so no point as far as we were concerned. It’s nicer to be a social event - so sitting in an empty restaurant didn’t appeal!
Good morning all from a sunny Glasgow, where it is 2°C.
Yesterday was exhausting to say the least!
After dropping my car off, I decided to walk along to Asda, because the area is full of dealerships and very congested and I knew DH would get stressed, trying to park. By the time I got there, I was shattered,
However, on entering I saw a huge SALE sign, which revived me immediately. 🤣
One knitted dress, one summer dress, a casual sweater for DH and rwo bras later, for the princely sum of £25 , restored my energy levels.🤣
In the hope of my car being worked on immediately, I suggested going for a coffee. Surprisingly DH agreed. Much to my surprise, he offered to drive me to TKMaxx to kill time. Oh sweet joy! I bought the most beautiful lamp, while ignoring DH"s sights. 🤣
My phone rang, it was DD demanding to know where we were and to tell me the roofers were on site. I then saw a missed call from the roofing company. They wanted to know where I was, as there was a problem. I explained that I was stuck in Linwoid. DH was not amused, when I suggested he drop me at the dealership ( remember, there is no parking) and go home to deal with the problem.
When I got home, the roofers had left to source a part. The phone rang I was resting my eyes and DH was forced to answer it.
Of course, he could not hear and when I suggested he put it on speaker phone, he somehow manged to cut the caller off. 😡
I called back and asked what the problem was. The roofer was Polish and said, that he didn't know the word in English for the missing part, but was driving round builders' merchants, trying to source it. He kept saying, Darling, don't you worry, I will fix it^, which he did. Phew!!
Later I had to go back out for my session, with the medical students. I got talking (no surprise there) to and elderly couple, who it turned out, lived two cul de sacs away. ike us, they have lived here for over thirty years, but we have never seen each other before. What is even more unusual, my surgery no longer take patients from here, because it is in a different town from the surgery. Like me, they have been with the surgery, since they were born.
I had a great time with the students, two of whom remembered me from previously. They kindly said that they were delighted to meet me again.
This was a cardiology session, it was really interesting. They were using stethoscopes to listen to my pulse rate in various areas. One asked if I wanted to listen to my carotid artery. It was the strangest feeling and quite unsettling. The tutor came in and was quite surprised at this. After quizzing them, he asked if he could listen. Oh you have an irregular pulse and I can detect some arrhythmia. First I had heard of it! 😱
I thoroughly enjoyed my afternoon and as I was leaving, the receptionist commented that I looked so much better than last week!!
I need to get up move my car. Hopefully the scaffolding will come down today, but that means that I cannot put out the washing on this glorious day.
Llfl, I hope your DH's op goes well, and that you get a quick result for your xray, Kalu,
Corner, my pain consultant was a horrible man and I eventually refused to see him. Yours must have gone to the same school as mine.
I wish you all, the beast of days, I have decided to have a me day. I am tired of running after everyone else!
Have a great day.
Good morning from Shropshire.A chilly start again.
Yesterday’s lunch at The Ivy was lovely. The food, setting and attentive staff all made for a lovely dining experience.
Today back to earth with a bump.I was woken by a phone call to say mum has had a fall.An ambulance has been called so we are waiting to hear from the paramedics.
All being well we will collect DGD from school and take her to her dance class.
Kalu, my DH was diagnosed with arthritis in his neck, spine and knees on Monday😢the consultant has suggested physio to begin with.
Have a good day all🦩
Good morning from a 2 degrees Cambridgeshire where rain is forecast today. I am meeting an old friend for lunch. I met her when I was 18 and we were medical secretaries together living in bedsit land in Cambridge. It’s always good to catch up and we are meeting in a cosy pub to chat in front of their log fire to share our current adventures plus remembering those of past days!
Yesterday turned out quite stressful as on going to pick up the GC from school there was an accident and the police closed the road back home for several hours. We had to divert and heavy traffic and took us an hour and a half to get back. The GC were good but the 6 year old was so tired and just wanted to get back to do his Lego with grandad! Our conservatory has become the Lego room currently with two big models made and a big crane in construction! Keeps DH and the little one happy for hours😂
Wishing a happy healthy trouble free day to all 💐
Good morning from a bright but I suspect chilly Suffolk. I had a really lovely meet up with Gingster yesterday in a delightful tiny cafe which she had heard about. Delicious food and we both took a huge slice of yummy looking cakes home for our DHs which was much enjoyed.
I had been experiencing some pain in my left calf muscle for a day or so which I mentioned to DD1 when she phoned last evening. She is a GP in Bristol and being in doctor mode she said it was unlikely but could be a DVT and I should get it looked at today…..so am about to phone for an appt hopefully today. Must go…nearly the magical hour of 8am.
Good morning. Dull and chilly here in N. Bucks.
I seem to be having a fairly quiet week which is unusual. At least it means I can get some little jobs done that I keep putting off.
Nothing much planned for today , I’ll go with the flow.
Thinking of those who are poorly or have troubles and wishing everyone a good day with a smile along the way.
