Morning all from a still dark West Oxfordshire.

I am driving OH to Oxford shortly. He is having his operation today and will stay overnight at the hospital

So, I should be back home by 9 am ish. Should I go back to bed?

It is the Local History society this evening so I’ll probably toddle along to that.

Have a good day.

Good morning from Malta where it’s hazy at the moment with a high of 22°C expected later.

Had a good day with the boys yesterday. They didn’t want to go out but played together charging around on their ride-on cars and generally bouncing around as two toddlers do.

I’m off again in a minute. They have nursery this afternoon and I will go and collect my new passport as it’s the only day the office opens in the afternoon. It’s usually closed by 1pm so I can never make it in time.

Hope the day goes well for you all.☀️

Good morning from s somerset, cloudy and showers today, colder too

Quiet and peaceful for me yesterday, a couple of deliveries, a bit of garden organisation, some more fermentation started and so on, nothing onerous and at a gentle pace. It happens from time to time when I recoup energy spent on activity. Then I slept well

I had an ocado offer, too good to miss so have topped up a couple of expensive olive oils that I can store in a dark place. I hear that chocolate and olive oils are going to be in short supply because of climate change damage. Delivery this morning

Nothing in particular today, I did a bit of bedroom sorting yesterday and might do a bit more later, or I might not. I do have to go to a meeting this evening and will walk into town, it will be pitch black near home. I need to find my small powerful torch

Have a good day

Good morning from an as yet dry Bristol.

Yesterday was a very long and exhausting day. Firstly, I had promised to do “some baking”. It turned out to be over three hours’ worth! Chocolate biscuits, coconut biscuits, fairy caked which needed icing, and a boiled fruit cake. The latter is extremely easy and forgiving, but still needs to be cooked!

I tried to rest before the next event - a haircut in my “salon”. Two neighbours and I share the same woman and, as I have easily cleaned hard flooring, my flat is the most logical.

After that, the meeting in another flat regarding writing to the CEO of the freeholders/management company who have been very neglectful. It was fruitful and I met several residents I didn’t even know “existed”. We ar3 going to take things slowly and carefully, not rush into anything. One curious thing is tha5 several residents have refused point blank to join the fight. One because she wants to fight her own battles, another because she wants to be invisible, a couple are too frail…

Then after a hurried dinner (left over from the previous night), I rushed off to church for a prayerful meeting. I was wiped out b6 then and went to bed early.

My night was full of peculiar dreams, interspersed with bits of tactful letter writing -two of us have been given the job of collating the famous letter…

Today, my FAB cafe with some of the baking and the book group in the next village in the afternoon.

I hope everyone has @ good day. Happy hump day as our dear, missing Ash would say…. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩🦩

Good morning from the Essex coast.
Up early today as DH has an early flight, from City Airport, to Guernsey.
He has already left for the train journey to the airport. He's gone with a friend to look at a new boat his friend is interested in buying.
As he won't be back til late tomorrow I have two 'empties'.
I have a few things I need to do but at the moment I am having TIB.
I hope today is kind to everyone xx

Good morning Mick and everyone from a dark and frosty morning in Cheshire. I just remembered in time to put the jackets on the cordylines last night. Beautiful plants but so easy to loose them in the cold frosts we've been having.

This morning I'm giving someone a lift to work for 9 o'clock and then have about two hours to wait for acupuncture. Not worth driving home again so I may just have to go shopping at Gemini. Not a fan of Ikea, but the big M&S and Next are worth the trip. Not that I don't like the stuff in Ikea, but I find the store is so difficult to navigate. Last time though a store assistant showed me a short cut the the tills.

This afternoon I shall make a lasagne, enough to portion out for the freezer.

Wishing everyone the best day possible. For anyone in pain or sad I hope it helps to know that you are thought of.

Greyduster Wed 12-Mar-25 06:12:54

Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire where it is still dark but there is a glimmer of red on the horizon. Yesterday it was dry but there was a sharp cold wind - not a day for hanging around outside. I walked to school and back though - I need the exercise.
Writers group at the library this afternoon. I shall have a mooch around M&S while at the mall.
Have the best day you can, folks.

Morning Mick, morning All. Haven’t looked out, the forecast is for a damp start with sun later.

Both the hairdresser and I survived my hair cut yesterday. I so dislike being ‘messed around ’. Fortunately we know each other well. Chores were completed and lunch eaten then we both fell asleep, fortunately waking before our teenagers arrived. A chat for an hour before they disappeared to get ready for the celebration meal. We’ll see them again on Thursday for tea and cake at their home.

A large bag to take to a charity shop this morning, if it’s fine a short wander and home for lunch. I’m due a call from the pain clinic consultant late afternoon, with luck we’ll get on better than we did face to face. My arm and shoulder remain unusably painful, it’s a two week wait to see the surgery physio. I’m convinced it will be fine by then.

Hope all goes well for your husband ladylfl. Thoughts go to everyone with personal mountains to climb.

Hope Wednesday is kind to us all.

Good Morning from Durham. It’s cold, with a keen wind.
I’m meeting my friend today - time has changed so many times, as she wants to get her son’s (the man-child) house organised, so he can move back in. She’s sick of him at her house! I think she said 1pm?
I’m off to see DGS1 after school, then DGS2 after which I’ll bring DD2’s Little Dog and her laundry back here with me. I’ve got him until Monday - a bit tying, but he gets me out for better exercise.
There’s a big IKEA at MetroCentre Sally and we’ve learned all those shortcuts to miss the bits we don’t want!

Best wishes to all. X

Kalu Wed 12-Mar-25 06:46:41

Good morning all. It’s 2deg. but feels like 0deg due to chilly winds, one plus, it’s dry here in Glasgow.

The fence repair will finally be done today which means an at home day until the work is done.
My GP visit yesterday confirmed my suspicions as she diagnosed not only sciatica in my left leg, she suspects arthritis in my knee is the cause of a good portion of the constant pain. A visit to the walk in x-ray clinic tomorrow for confirmation. My imagination is running away with me now wondering if a TKR is on the cards?? 🤦🏼‍♀️

Hoping today is a good one and a more positive one for those with ongoing difficulties.

luluaugust Wed 12-Mar-25 07:03:00

Good morning from a bright W Kent. DF coming this morning for tea and a chat. Her son has been out of work but things are looking up on the other hand her DH is waiting for an operation so we will have a lot to get through.
Best wishes for your husband’s operation llfl
Kalu Hope the x ray helps give some answers

Grammaretto Wed 12-Mar-25 07:04:28

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
I hope it's sunny again. I enjoyed sitting in the garden drinking coffee with a df.

I took a friend a bottle of best olive oil as a gift when I went to hers for lunch last week Karmalady . She was pleased 😀

Yarn group this morning and the gym again this afternoon. I also have a report to write......overdue.

I hope your DH op goes well Llfl

You pack such a lot into a day
gMattie

I am thinking of all those with troubles and illnesses.
🌈 smile

GrannyGravy13 Wed 12-Mar-25 07:07:53

My phone tells me it’s 2 degrees outside, it is also grey.

I am off to the gym this morning, I am pleased with my progress, it’s slow but steady, it takes us longer to bounce back as we get older.

Have a good day folks 🙋‍♀️

Jaxjacky Wed 12-Mar-25 07:11:36

Morning, 2 here in S Hants, the wind yesterday was cutting. I’ve free crocosmia to put in today, I want them to spread in a certain area, once that’s done I’ll get out for a walk.
Best wishes to Mrllfl for his op.
I’ve olive oil stashed too karmalady not fussed about chocolate.

Redcar Wed 12-Mar-25 07:15:25

Good morning everyone from mid Essex. It’s a chilly 3 degrees, with broken cloud. Dry at the moment but showers are forecast.
The longer walk on Monday upset my back, but I went for my usual half mile yesterday. My car needs new tyres, I damaged one when I hit the kerb last week. It’s also being serviced so there are other minor things to be done. I should get it back today. Saw my friend with dementia in the afternoon, she was a bit agitated.
llfl I hope that your OH’s operation goes well today.
madeleine I hope that your cataract operation wasn’t too uncomfortable and that having to lie flat hasn’t caused too much pain. Take things easy for a while.
kalu good that you have a confirmed diagnosis of sciatica but presumably nothing can be done to ease the pain from that? Not good that you also have arthritis in your knee, how unfair!
Have the best day possible everyone. Keep warm in this cold spell of weather.

RosesandLilac Wed 12-Mar-25 07:19:13

Good morning from south Glos where it’s cold and dry with rain or sleet forecast 🙄, where’s the sun?
I had a long chat with DD yesterday about the little dog, we’re going to Wales for a couple of nights next week to meet her and bring back here! I had a list of things to get her, all ordered online except a harness which I will need to buy when I can take her to a pet shop to ensure it fits properly. I’m so excited!
We’ll take our dog with us to Wales obviously, I have booked a nice cottage for two nights, and hopefully all will go well, she gets on better with smaller dogs than boisterous big ones.
I think I’m all prepared 😊
I need a long dog walk today, get outside in the fresh air; I might head to the dog friendly cafe in the village en route.

Thinking of those with troubles and buggerations 🌹

monk08 Wed 12-Mar-25 07:27:46

Good morning all from the Black country where it is raining.
Early start today I'm at playgroup once again.
Hope all goes well for DH op llfl.
Will catch up with everybody's happenings later enjoy your day everyone whatever your plans ☀️

hollysteers Wed 12-Mar-25 07:32:52

Good morning from Sunnyside 3 degrees northwest coast.
Music club went well yesterday although the numbers are disappointing. I then did a small food shop and ambled about the village. Fell asleep in front of the tv, a common occurrence these days and irritating.

Today to lunchtime recital by talented youngsters from Chethams music school in Manchester and preparations for friend coming over to stay for a night tomorrow.

Hope the op’ goes well LLFLl and thoughts to all🌺

brook2704 Wed 12-Mar-25 07:38:30

Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s grey and cloudy
Hoping all goes well today for your DH llfl
Kalu 💐
Today I’m off to the gym for a couple of classes and then I’ll walk back into town by the river. I’m going to have a browse around the shops for a while, enjoy a coffee in a my new favourite cafe and then get the bus home.
Happy days ahead Roses with your new little addition!
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐

EkwaNimitee Wed 12-Mar-25 07:39:53

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny and frosty Carlisle.
Yesterday I spent all morning in town. The main reason being my two-yearly eye test. I thought my eyesight had changed and it had...I am even more long-sighted so got a new prescription. I also have an incipient cataract but nothing needs doing about it yet except that I now have to have annual checks. The major damage was to my bank balance after I'd chosen new frames!
Then it was on to restore myself with coffee, collect prescriptions, donate more books to the charity bookshop and home via M&S food hall. A restful afternoon followed...reading and braintraining.

Today, ironing and bathroom cleaning, more book sorting and maybe gardening though I think it's too cool to be sowing any seeds in the veg patch.

Best wishes to all especially if you're having a hard time currently.

RosieandherMaw Wed 12-Mar-25 07:40:11

Good morning from N Bucks where it is crisp and clear (for now)
Had a happy few hours with BlueSapphire yesterday, browsing, shopping and lunching. Treated myself to some Jo Malone perfume in JL as an early birthday present 🎁 (maybe from Rosie) but was sorry not to find my long time favourite Calèche by Hermès - has it been discontinued?
Opera group this morning, we’re watching “ Nixon in China “ which seems strangely topical , what next, “Trump in Moscow” I wonder?
Thoughts to all of you in pain or with worries and my best wishes for a pleasant day.

ginny Wed 12-Mar-25 07:48:19

Good morning. Dull and chilly here in N. Bucks.
I seem to be having a fairly quiet week which is unusual. At least it means I can get some little jobs done that I keep putting off.
Nothing much planned for today , I’ll go with the flow.
Thinking of those who are poorly or have troubles and wishing everyone a good day with a smile along the way.

Liberty Wed 12-Mar-25 07:56:10

Good morning from a bright but I suspect chilly Suffolk. I had a really lovely meet up with Gingster yesterday in a delightful tiny cafe which she had heard about. Delicious food and we both took a huge slice of yummy looking cakes home for our DHs which was much enjoyed.

I had been experiencing some pain in my left calf muscle for a day or so which I mentioned to DD1 when she phoned last evening. She is a GP in Bristol and being in doctor mode she said it was unlikely but could be a DVT and I should get it looked at today…..so am about to phone for an appt hopefully today. Must go…nearly the magical hour of 8am.

GrannyIvy Wed 12-Mar-25 08:03:47

Good morning from a 2 degrees Cambridgeshire where rain is forecast today. I am meeting an old friend for lunch. I met her when I was 18 and we were medical secretaries together living in bedsit land in Cambridge. It’s always good to catch up and we are meeting in a cosy pub to chat in front of their log fire to share our current adventures plus remembering those of past days!

Yesterday turned out quite stressful as on going to pick up the GC from school there was an accident and the police closed the road back home for several hours. We had to divert and heavy traffic and took us an hour and a half to get back. The GC were good but the 6 year old was so tired and just wanted to get back to do his Lego with grandad! Our conservatory has become the Lego room currently with two big models made and a big crane in construction! Keeps DH and the little one happy for hours😂

Wishing a happy healthy trouble free day to all 💐
