Good Morning Tuesday 18th March 2025
(51 Posts)Good Morning Everyone,
A dark but dry start here in brackley its getting lighter around 6 at the moment .
Into my usual routine of bus trip to Bicester , returning to lunch and maybe relax if not housework .
Health is OK ,
Take Care,
Mick
It is probably fortuitous that I am going out. I like the colour of my car and don't fancy it changing to red cedar or aged oak.
That gave me a good chuckle Marydoll! 😂
I’m sorry to see your news Susan…. Best wishes to you and your Mum.
Good morning from a sunny but cold midlands.
Waiting for a call from the drs. I’ve had the headaches from hell for a while now and it’s worse during the night. DH had diagnosed cluster headaches. How come men know so much? So it’s probably a day waiting around. More paracetamols!
Hugs to all who are suffering. 🤗
Oh my goodness *Susan! I'm sorry to hear about your mum and that you are unwell too. My best wishes to you.
Thank you Mary.xx

Good morning from Shropshire.A cold start but sunshine due all day.
A difficult few days.I had a horrible flare up of a health condition on Saturday. As I was waiting for the out of hours dr to call me back I had a call from the care home to say mum was being blue lighted to hospital. She was taken to a hospital that is in lockdown so no visitors and very difficult to get through on the phone. In the end my brother drove down yesterday morning and a nurse came out to speak to him.She is still undergoing tests.Such a sad and horrible situation.
I am feeling slightly better today so will try and get a few things done.
Thoughts with all with mountains to climb🌻
Dear Sue,
I am so sad for you. I have been exactly in your position and suffering chronic ill health, makes it all so much more difficult.
Maryxxx
Good morning from a sunny but frosty NE.
Spent five hours on the computer yesterday filling in online forms.
I wanted to apply for a blue badge so that I can have a life, at present when I go on holiday with family I have to stay in the cottage most of the time.
SIL off home to Brussels today so I am without his help for a while.
Hoping to manage some light housework today.
Have a good day.
Thinking of you Susan 💐
Good morning all. The weather seems to be the same everywhere just now - pleasant but cold.
My goodness, you are all busy folks! I too had a busy, busy day yesterday. But in the afternoon I fell sound asleep in the garden room. My chair is by the door, and when I woke up I found that I had had a delivery from the Big River while I slept. In the photo that was taken showing the delivery you can see my foot, but I was aware of nothing - I do hope I was sleeping prettily 😉😂
Today is tai chi and a quick foray into Tesco on the way home, followed by my usual lazy afternoon.
Susan
Enjoy your days in the sunshine everyone - wrapped up warm x
Regrding hospitals in lockdown, I got my appointment for my Covid spring booster yesterda. It is obviously still out there. Unfortunately is is on a BabyD day, but if I cancel, the only alternative is somewhere near Loch Lomond!
Susan, I hope you feel beeter soon and so sorry to hear about your mum.💐
Good morning from sunny N. Bucks.
Son in Laws op’ went well yesterday he is now hobbling around with a large plastic/rubber boot and looks like he is going one legged sking.
Today I have a large amount of butter icing to prepare for craft club. We shall be icing small cakes to look like various animals.
Washing to put on and beds to change plus some craft room tidying.
Wishing all a good day and thoughts with all who are poorly or have troubles.
Susan56 Specially kind thoughts for you and your family. Hope you're much improved now and that you have better news about your Mum. I hadn't realised that some hospitals are in lockdown. A worrying situation for you.
Marydoll dd is thinking that she might speak to the nursery about doing that. He behaves perfectly well most times at nursery, just is starving when he comes out. It's a good idea
Morning from a sunshiny S Hants, cold, but far better that the incessant rain we had last Spring.
Voluntary phone was quiet yesterday, there’s never any consistency or logic to the number of clients who call in.
We came third in quiz! Our tenner will pay for next week’s entry, there was a good turnout and the Guinness was flowing.
Some admin today, I’ll get my early potatoes in, clean the bathrooms and have a river walk, it’s very pretty.
Enjoy your days, safe journeys to travellers.
Susan you’re in my thoughts 🥀
Good morning all from a sunny Glasgow, bothered it is -1°C.
Firstly, I wish to thank the kind gran, who sent me advice yesterday about my mouth. It does help being a dentist's wife, I trust her more than the useless GP, who suggested Bonjela.
Grandmabatty, could your grandson not take his own food to nursery, Dollie did that, Babydoll, on the other hand, requires them to send out for extra supplies.😂
I had a very busy day yesterday. Got some jobs done at church and had to do a clear up after the funeral. There must have been about two hundred people there.
I had to get the PP to come out and ask people to leave, when they failed to follow the coffin out of the church. The hearse was ready to go, but they were all still sitting inside the church.
They obviously had no idea of the protocol, I found it all a bit
odd.
I went into the parish house to update the counters on something, but when I came back, every door in the sacristy was locked, including the safe ( think of a vault), where my bag was. There was no sign of the sacristan. Having been caught out before like this, I always keep the church keys (think of a chatelaine) on lanyard round my neck. You can hear me jingle jangling a mile away.😂
About fifteen minutes later, the duty sacristan came back. He had cycled home, then had the horrible thought that he had locked me in the safe, because he had been searching everywhere for me and I had disappeared! 😂
I call him my church husband, because just like Mr MD, he doesn't listen to a word I say. 😉 I did tell him that I was going into the parish house.
I am beginning to come round to the idea, that it is actually me who is at fault. After all, men are never wrong.😉
When I got home, I saw that DH was back from the golf. Much to my surprise, the door was locked, but the key was not in the lock. DD was in and she informed me that he said that he was in the bad books, due to Keygate. He is still totally uncontrite! However, I did notice that everything was back in place on the decking. He had been busy, just unable to verbally apologise.
I have just said that I have a big washing to go out, because it will be sunny. Oh you can't, I am am spray painting the fence. 🙈 Nice if he had told me! 😡
It is probably fortuitous that I am going out. I like the colour of my car and don't fancy it changing to red cedar or aged oak..
I'm off to Paisley, to get my new glasses adjusted. One pair is cutting into my ear and the other pair is out of focus, due to the way they are sitting.
The P.P has asked me to get more keys made, but our local chap, who was excellent, has gone out of business, due to a franchise opening up in the local supermarket. I used to get a good discount, due to the fact that his twin brother, is a priest in the Diocese. However, has recommended a friend in Paisley, who apparently is very good.
Safe journey, to all, who are travelling and thoughts to those who are struggling or are burdened with worry regarding elderly parents.
Have a good day folks.
Madeleine I hope your eye starts to settle soon. Having had both eyes done now and slowly improving, I have come to the conclusion that whilst it is a very quick operation it shouldn’t be looked on as minor. Keep the drops going and the sunglasses on
Lovely day promised so some domestic goddessing will be called for as the sun shows up the state of the windows, but no other plans. WI this evening if I have the energy, will see how I feel at the time.
Good morning from County Durham. Looking forward to a warmer day ahead if the forecast is correct.
We're in the process of organising the house for some decorating. After years of wallpapering I have managed to persuade DH that having all walls skimmed and painted is a good idea ( age proofing). The rooms are pretty big and the staircase scarily high so preparation is going to be a massive job, but best tackle it now. We've a couple of plasterers coming to give quotes so let's see how it goes. It will be expensive but in my view better we tackle it now. The bedrooms we shall leave until next year. Hopefully we can arrange the skimming to be done while we are away on holiday in June.
School pick up later. GS2 is sure to be still full of excitement as he travelled to Wembley with his dad on Sunday to watch his beloved Newcastle win silver. An experience he is never going to forget.
Wishing all a peaceful day.
Good morning Mick and all from 4C Sunnyside sand dunes, northwest coast.
DD here and helping with locating possible unknown shares my late DH took out. She is spending time with childhood friend recently bereaved plus birthday.
There seems to be a slow leak in the bathroom but I can’t locate the source. I can hear a slight whooshing noise too.
Music club today and I’m on the desk. Haven’t sung for days, so will have a warm up.
DD in tonight and pork casserole already made.
Thoughts to all🌺

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny but frosty Carlisle.
Yesterday was a busy morning of laundry and housework, this morning will be the same then that will be that for the week except for any special jobs I might be minded to do...or not.
The afternoon was for reading and finishing off the papers but this afternoon I'm hoping to go for a walk and keep the adipose at bay. The swathes of little daffodils in the park are at their beautiful best right now.
I've also got folk to chase on the phone, an irritating task...is it because everyone seems to be shorthanded these days?
And wishing you all a good day.
Good morning from a sunny and warmer Suffolk. Yesterday in Ipswich there was a bitingly cold wind which didn’t interfere with the lovely day I spent with my dear friend.
Today I have a pedicure and then meet up with one of my closest friends who I haven’t seen since we returned from our cruise. I am so looking forward to a long leisurely lunch with her when we’ll chat throughout.
Hope all have the best day possible.
Good morning from Durham. It’s a bright, sunny start, but still cold,
My friend’s appointment for cataract surgery went well and her better eye is being done next Tuesday. Unfortunately, a stone chipped my windscreen on the way there and the clinic was running over 2 hours late! At least I took DD2’s Little Dog home during the long wait.
I’m meeting poorly friend (getting better, but putting off an important procedure) for coffee and lunch today. She’s spending silly money on her house - even a builder has told her most of it’s unnecessary. She says it’s to make things easier for her DD in future. These days, I keep things maintained, but just ticking over.
Best wishes to all. X
