Good morning all. North Leicestershire is dull but we are still in bed drinking tea.

We have awarded ourselves a lazy day today after a fairly eventful week. Roast lamb for lunch - easy!

Yesterday was exhausting. We watched Bertie's team reach the final of the under 13's County cup. Our superstar scored 2 of their 6-2 win.

In the afternoon we took Wolfie crazy golfing. He can talk for England. When we asked him whether he would like to go again, he said 'Yes please, tomorrow!' It will take us longer than that to recover.

Good morning from a very damp County Durham.

We're home after enjoying our spa/hotel treat at Ribby Hall. A long drive from home but well worth it. The following day we travelled on to Ilkley Moor where we took a three mile walk around the Cow and Calf. Quite a picturesque rocky landscape with stunning views.
Then onto Harrogate for the night before our journey home. I'm so pleased we caught the last of the good weather.

A quiet recovery day today with some paperwork to get through, nothing very exciting.

Morning all from West Oxfordshire, I’m having a tiny lie-in.

OH and I are off to the cinema later to see Black Bag. It has good reviews and I saw a trailer when I was in Australia and went to see the new Bridget Jones film with my sister in law and heavily pregnant niece. There is an Italian restaurant next door to the cinema. I’ve booked lunch there before the film. There is 25% discount if you show your cinema tickets. There is also free parking in this particular town.

Good Morning from Durham. Yesterday was dire, it rained from lunchtime until after midnight. At least I caught up on admin, until I jammed the shredder!
I’m hoping today is better all round. DD2’s laundry to finish.
I applied online for my passport on Thursday and already it’s approved, although it’s not needed until May. Hope your’s arrives soon FGT.
We’ll miss you MD but your health and welfare must come first - haste ye back (if you want).

Good morning everyone from a grey, damp and misty Northampton; no going out today and I shall be glad to stay in after a very busy week.

Picked up my new bedside lamp from M&S yesterday, and is now installed in the bedroom looking very good and stylish.

DD's wind band concert last night was excellent, an evening of American music, including Rhapsody in Blue, which was brilliantly played by an outstanding local amateur pianist. It was also good to see almost all of my family there in the audience (apart from DGD1 who was at an 18th birthday party). During the concert the heavens opened and by the time we came out to go home the.road outside the church was a torrent of water.

A quiet day at home catching up with the papers, tv, and watching Women's rugby Six Nations, England v Italy, on tv this afternoon.

Looking forward to steak for dinner tonight.

Good morning from a grey NE after heavy overnight rain.
DS and GD visited yesterday after she had spent the morning working in a charity shop, part of her voluntary work for DOE award.
We had one of our favourite meals, Bratwurst with German style cabbage, very filling but tasty.
Today GD is doing hill walking with her friends and some of the parents but not DS as long covid has sapped his energy.
Nothing happening here today, going to have a lazy day.

Good morning Mick and all GN's on a grey damp looking morning in North Yorkshire. Quite misty and dont know whether it will turn into forcasted rain or brighten up.

Hope it is the latter, as I could do with a bit of sunshine. Another rubbish night, and so I not only feel full of aches and pains but still very tired. Wish I could go swimming, which was my go to activity on days like this. I could loosen up and have a little exercise and come home feeling refreshed and better, but no swimming for 6/7 weeks . Still cheered by them playing the Goldberg variations on radio 3 this morning, which are a favourite of mine.

This poor sleep pattern is very annoying as I then fall asleep in the chair when I dont want to!! Yesterday had been making quite decent progress through some paperwork, filing some and then putting a couple of piles of things that I need to do something with this week. Drifted off to sleep and caught the edge of the table and the wretched piles fell to the floor getting mixed up again!! Anyway I am determined to make today a day of finishing jobs and then plan to go out tomorrow in the car all being well. My eye seems to be working well if still a bit gritty, but will just do a little drive out of the town away from traffic, just to make sure I am up to it ok. As I am waking so early I should be able to try it out before most people are up and then if I judge it to be safe and ok hurray I shall be able to get out and about and go up to my precious Swaledale which will cheer me very much.

So my exciting plan for the day is to finish the ironing completely, got some good aberdeen angus mince at a reduced price so am going to cook that and will have a lovely jacket potato with it and it will be enough to freeze some for another day too. Resort the messed up papers , and try and have a look through my wardrobe. This time of year you need a whole mix from light t zhirts with short sleeves to cashmere jumpers and gloves and hats to go out. I have two wardrobes so am planning to now put a selection of possible things in one so that I can pick out something appropriate easily. No good packing away winter things yet .might need sunglasses or snowboots or possibly both on same day!! Am also going to sort out my box in the car with all my picnic plates cutlery etc and get my spare towels and swimming costume in the boot. These I keep at the ready, so that if I have to change my plans or suddenly decide that the weather has improved enough to go off to the seaside, I am all kitted out without having to go home.. Ah at least a positive thought for the future!

I enjoy reading all the posts, and at the moment am somewhat envious of all the lovely flowers and plants growing for you all further south. You are all very industrious and I can imagine your gardens and allotments coming to life.

Mick , hope that you enjoyed your cycle programmes yesterday I enjoy a chinese too, but prefer it if there are a few of us getting one together so that we can enjoy mix and matching.
grandMattie Your magnolias sound lovely. I grew a couple of magnolias in my last garden but only got a small stellata here, no signs of flowers on that yet.

If I am ok driving I hope to come over to see the art exhibition. There is quite a lot going on in Bradford this year that I look forward to being able to visit soon. Have a long list of art galleries and music things to catch up on and we have the Swaledale festival in May to look forward to as well.

Morning from sunny S Hants, storms later apparently. Yesterday I spent ages waiting at the pharmacist to eventually get some liquid antibiotics for an ongoing sinusitis infection, four times a day for four days.
More seeds to sow today, but indoors, too early even for the greenhouse, I’ve got a cyclamen from a friend to put in too. A walk before meat draw, dinner is beef casserole.

Good morning Mick and all from Cloudy Chambers northwest coast.
DD left for the south yesterday after nearly six days. It was lovely having her here and she always helps me with bits of admin, technology etc.

Lots of vivid dreams last night. My free standing parasol is now ready to go, which of course is a cue for wet weather. The gardener is due today but we’ll see…

It was poignant standing outside my late DHs’ office on Friday with DD and DS where I met him for the first time, but nice to see the two lovely children grown up, the outcome of the meeting.

A late good morning from grey N Bucks.
I was awake 4 hours ago, let the dog out and took a mug of tea back to bed with me. Too early to read, I decided to try William Boyd’s “The Jura Affair” on BBC Sounds, starting at episode 1 of course.
Next thing I knew it was about to start episode 6 ! And my mug of cold tea was untouched. No idea what happens in the book, but I like his novels and enjoyed hearing him on Desert Island Discs a few weeks ago. He too was at the same school at the same time as Paw, BIL and the King but being (in his own words) a bit of a “rugger bu**er” he wasn’t unhappy there like Paw or KC III !

FaceTime French lesson for GS1 this afternoon, but no other firm plans. Certainly not another lunch out- yesterday’s was a pleasant 3 hours with my friend but came in a bit pricey for (just) a Saturday lunch at £40 I thought And we had far from the most expensive choices.!
