soop has been in touch. She will not be on GN today, I think, as she is unwell. Please carry on your usual kind chatting. soop was saying yesterday what lovely people you all are.

Blossoming no need to apologise 🌸

The Imp has just been collected, he enjoyed his BBQ chicken wings with coleslaw, cucumber and fries. Desert was strawberries, raspberries, blueberries with yogurt.

We have been told not to move his Lego creation as he will finish it tomorrow night.

DH is now at the BBQ cooking our chicken breasts, I have prepared salad and savoury rice.

Wine is open

Night night 🙋‍♀️

Another warm sunny day today, so went for a walk this morning. As I was walking back I met a neighbour who was putting her bins away. We had a chat and I went in and coffee with her which was really nice. She has no family and doesn’t go out on her own, but has lots of lovely neighbours who take her out. She has a huge garden and a gardener who looks after it for her!
After lunch I started on the garage! I cleared a couple of drawers and part of a shelf before giving up. I staggered down the drive with the old portaloo, a leftover from our caravanning days!
DD2 may bring some of her rubbish over tomorrow to go in the skip! Last week she had to hide some Lego that her elder daughter was working on, in case her sister or cousins got hold of it!
Have a peaceful evening everyone.

This talk of Lego has reminded me that DGS2 demolished DGD1’s Lego camper van last week and it is all over their bedroom floor. Better sort that before she visits!
DH has infected leg ulcers and a chest infection, so he is a bit sorry for himself. He needs some TLC and a whole night’s sleep. Neither of us is sleeping well at the moment. Last night we were woken by smoke at 3:15 am. It was our antisocial neighbour’s bonfire of some kind of waste. It is acrid and very unpleasant, not far from our bedroom window. It was her 3rd bonfire of the week and we have just been driven inside by another. On Tuesday I shall contact environmental health.
It’s good to see you getting out Blossoming. This weather has helped us all get fresh air.
I hope everyone enjoys the weekend, even if it’s cooler.

Jaxjacky Fri 02-May-25 20:12:55

Do not say that Blossoming! You’re not self obsessed, we’re all there for each other, up or down and it’s blooming terrific you’re up!
Do you have 🎂 plans for tomorrow Nannytopsy?
Another warm day down south, MrJ, my son and Fin played golf, first time together, they thoroughly enjoyed it, a little rivalry has emerged.
Meanwhile, I tended plants and liberated the Shark from under the stairs and hurled it about making patterns in the carpet, conscience salved, I looked online for white trainers.
We both put groceries away, then wandered to the pub, busy outside, they have a 90’s night from 9pm, if it started at 6….😏
I hope brook has grabbed some sleep and caught up with family properly.
soop I sent you a pm.

I’m sorry for your sadness soop and totally understand.

Neine those photos reminded me how much we love Tenby. Thank you for the prompt. I was first there, with Mr C, 56 years ago, we’ve returned so many times since. The small red and green velvet frog bean bag we brought back with us that first time has been a fixture ever since. He currently observes us from under a coffee table and has survived children and dogs with just one small darn. We hope to make it back this year with fingers crossed we can go across to Caldey Island, a timeless place I find healing.

I’ve read so many posts after a long gap that I’m sorry, my head won’t hold the detail. Thinking of you all whether happy or sad, well or poorly.

‘Evening All’.

Another Tenby (and Saundersfoot) lover here. Glorious beaches. Mind you we last visited 48 years ago! My late mum had friends who lived there and so newly married, we joined my parents on a holiday there for a week, Caldy Island was memorable when we visited but sadly for all the wrong reasons nowadays.

We’ve enjoyed our day. My manicure looks good. I decided not to have a French and chose ‘ketchup’ instead.

Blossoming if you think your posts are self absorbed (actually they’re not, they’re interesting) goodness only knows what everyone in the kitchen feels about mine. 😮

Hello kitchen people.

I hope you’ve all had the best day possible.

I did some food shopping for the weekend. Then I made a batch of scones for the first time in ages. Finally I made chicken curry for dinner. OH usually cooks this but he was exhausted after playing croquet for a couple of hours followed by another visit to his bees.

Sleep 💤 tight.

Blossoming Fri 02-May-25 23:18:20

Thank you all for your kindness and reassurance. It just struck me when I was reading my post before pushing the button that it was all about me, and I do care about you all even if I don’t mention you xx 🌹

brook2704 Sat 03-May-25 00:53:15

Aww Blossoming, thank you, I love reading your posts and everyone else’s on here too 🥰
It’s late afternoon here, we’ve just got back to our hotel room for a short rest before going out again for dinner this evening. It’s been very hot today, we’ve been for a walk in the park this morning and then to the flower market for flowers for the memorial service tomorrow. I think my brother is pleased we’re here, we’re his only family attending in person although others will watch online via a video link.
It’s nice that the men and boys in the family played golf together Jax
Hope your DH is better soon nannytopsy, the 3.15am bonfire is awful!
Gentle hugs to all in the quiet corner, take care everyone x

Redcar Sat 03-May-25 07:21:33

brook I hope the memorial service for your sister in law goes as well as can be expected today. A sad day for you and your brother, I’m sure he will be grateful for your support.

nannytopsy your neighbour’s nighttime bonfires sound awful . I hope the council can do something to put a stop to them.

Jaxjacky Sat 03-May-25 07:44:26

Grandmabatty Sat 03-May-25 08:12:04

Nannytopsy I'm enraged on your behalf! I really hope you can get it sorted out. I'm assuming she's not the sort of person who you can reason with? Have a happy birthday nonetheless. Brook my best wishes to you and your brother for today. I hope it goes smoothly.

kittylester Sat 03-May-25 09:45:07

Many happy Returns of the Day, Topsy. Hope you DH feels better and that there are no bonfires to spoil your day.

Brook, I, too, hope that today goes well.

Grran Sat 03-May-25 14:47:43

Just a quick hello and (re)introduction in the kitchen.
I used to read a lot and contribute a little, enjoying the feeling of being in Soop’s kitchen having a cuppa and chat around the table with other Kitcheners. I made occasional dalliances on other threads. This was a mistake and I signed off for a while, but missed you all so have come knocking at the door once more!

Have the best day you can everyone!

Grandmabatty Sat 03-May-25 15:12:23

Pleased to see you back grran.

Jaxjacky Sat 03-May-25 15:22:56

soop Sat 03-May-25 16:12:58

Welcome back, Grran. Please stay.

Wishing you all a pleasant and peaceful weekend. I am never too far away. flowers sunshine smile

Blossoming Sat 03-May-25 16:59:06

Hello dear Kitcheners. Today has been a busy day, my tri walker arrived this morning 2 days early. I have been practicing indoors and after lunch MrB and I went for a walk. I have been able to wave at a train 😂. It wasn’t too difficult, you use the brakes to control the speed especially when going downhill.

I’m really tired now, wishing you all a good evening xx

Grran Sat 03-May-25 18:21:20

Thanks everyone!
I hope today went ok Brook. Thinking of you.

Grran Sat 03-May-25 18:23:25

Blossoming, that tri walker looks great! It looks like it has a seat? My mum’s was similar but had a bag. The seated ones were 4 wheeled and heavier. She would have loved that one!

Blossoming Sat 03-May-25 19:00:57

Grann it has a seat and a bag. I’m loving it so far 😊.

Jaxjacky Sat 03-May-25 19:16:33

Brilliant Blossoming and you saw the trains - a happy day.
We went for a bbq at my daughter’s, it was brilliant, she cooked, my son cleared up, the sun shone (quite the sun trap). It’s not often we eat a full meal at lunchtime, an hour ago MrJ asked what’s for dinner, he’s had to forage in the fridge/freezer, no way am I cooking!
Greenhouse watered, no sign of rain, I reckon a hosepipe ban is looming, I’m keeping the large water butt topped up with the hose.
