soop has been in touch. She will not be on GN today, I think, as she is unwell. Please carry on your usual kind chatting. soop was saying yesterday what lovely people you all are.

To be honest, it’s very tiring to write posts. I am trying to keep people updated via the Good Morning post. Thank you all for your kind thoughts 🌹

Love and kindest wishes to the Soops.

Ladyleftfieldlover I was at the Wildlife Park on April 3rd. The weather was perfect. The gardens are so beautifully planted aren't they? So many interesting animals to see. What a good life those creatures enjoy. As we passed through your village on our return home I mentioned you to my daughter.

Hi, Carillion1 please drop in again!

TillyTrotter Sun 06-Apr-25 15:17:49

Good afternoon. We took a walk by the riverside this morning before many folk were out. It was so peaceful and the swan was serenely, well, just swanning by.
Still an easterly cold blow but lovely if you’re wrapped up.
Best wishes to the soops and everyone in this lovely kitchen.

Grandmabatty Sun 06-Apr-25 12:03:48

Nice to hear from you Carillon.

Carillion1 Sun 06-Apr-25 11:49:31

Good morning all lovely kitchen folk.
I am contacting to send soop my love and kind thoughts. I recognise so many grandsnet names. I moved back from France to Scotland last year and love being home after a ten year holiday. I always contacted soop every Christmas and New Year. Be safe and well all kitcheners. There is a Victoria sponge here for you today. Much love xxx

We felt the need to cuddle the two smallest grandchildren today so nipped down to Kent. We had a practice run at doing bedtime, which we are doing at the end of the month. I put DGD to bed without trouble - she was very tired. DGS was no trouble either but it’s not our first rodeo! They are such sweethearts 🥰. Our DD is a bad influence - we came home having booked a 3 night holiday in Norfolk on Friday!
Our monthly church service tomorrow morning so up early again.

Hello kitchen people.

We’ve had a lovely day with elder son and our granddaughter. Her mum had to work this weekend.

We spent several hours at a wildlife park about half an hour away. It was beautifully sunny. On our return we had a barbecue. It was warm enough to eat outside.

Here is a photo of our granddaughter snuggled up with the cats.

So pleased to hear your DH is at last recovering Jax 😀

hulahoop Sat 05-Apr-25 20:21:26

Evening everyone from a bright 🌞Yorkshire. Hope all poorlies are improving .We are having family tomorrow looking forward to that.

cornergran Sat 05-Apr-25 19:31:33

So does ours jax although I’m sort of pleased not to have it!

Still look like an alien but am convinced I feel a little better. Thank you for your well wishes. The antibiotics come to an end tomorrow, that’ll help.

Stayed in bed reading until nearly 11 this morning, how lazy was that? Ventured forth with Mr C to have the car washed, All over dirty rain spots really isn’t a good look on a black car. Other than hanging washing out that was about it. Tomorrow will be equally sedentary I fear.

Hope himself is better today fgt

You’ll soon crack the charging brook. Another couple of weeks and it will be as if you’ve been doing it forever.

Time to put feet up - yes, again grin

Have a good evening everyone.

Hi everyone. Another lovely day again, but the poor garden is suffering, I meant to water the pots today but will do it in the morning.
Changed the bedclothes today, debating whether it’s time to change to a thinner duvet as I’ve been warm for the last few nights.
DD1 and family came over this afternoon and we sat in the garden which was pleasant. I showed her and her DH what I’d done in the garage, I don’t think she was impressed! It was agreed that a skip would be useful to clear all the stuff (hopefully including the artwork she did for her degree and which has been languishing in the garage for the last 27 years, wrapped in old bedsheets and plastic sheeting!). She will discuss it with DD2 and eventually I will be told when to book the skip!
My back is objecting to standing so much today so I have a hot wheat pad against it. I’ll rest tomorrow and hope it improves.
I’m pleased your DH is better jaxjacky. And I hope your DH improves soon fgt.
Enjoy your evening everyone.

Hi all, FGT I hope himself is recovering, MrJ after his ‘tummy week’ has eaten a bacon sandwich, supped two pints of full fat Guinness (not his usual zero) and played bowls, so he’s better.
Yuk corner distinctly not right, fingers crossed by Tuesday you’ll be pukka.
I’ve had a quiet day, newspaper, bagsied a large free pot from f/b (repotting bay tomorrow), washed and dried bedding then met up with friends in the pub. A pint of squash 90p! MrJ joined me after bowls, cottage pie under way.
Our garden needs rain - sorry!

kittylester Sat 05-Apr-25 18:35:33

brook, good luck with charging your car. It does become more natural eventually. Ours is a hybrid rather than a full electric and we love it.

Homemade crispy chicken wings for us, although I feel a bit ropey after my jab yesterday.

DH is feeling a bit ropey as Forest are losing to his best friend's team.

Think of me! 😅😅

brook2704 Sat 05-Apr-25 18:22:03

Hi kitchen pals, it’s been a lovely sunny day here in Inverness but with a very cold wind
We’re still getting to grips with the new electric car, our home charger hasn’t been installed yet so we’re having to use the public ones. After a bit of a shaky start we managed to charge it up .. I’m sure it’s quite simple really but it’s like with anything new, it takes us a while to get used to it, we’re not as quick as the young uns!
Dinner sounds yummy GG13 enjoy!
We’re on the curry tonight grandmabatty It sounds like you’ve had a very busy day, take care and look after yourself
Safe journey home FGT
Corner good to hear you enjoyed your time away hope you’re feeling much better soon x

L’il Miss is playing in the back garden. I just said to her I’ll run your bath in a bit.

“You might be having showers more soon, like your brother”.
“Hmm no, I don’t think so grandma I don’t really like showers you feel like your standing in the rain”.

Don’t you just love 8 year old’s logic? ❤️

GrannyGravy13 Sat 05-Apr-25 17:30:10

Evening all, well today has turned out to be rather expensive, the dishwasher gave up, it is only eight years old!

Went and put a deposit on a new one- £ouch! Especially after having the Quooker serviced in the week £££

We gave The Imp here, his dinner is in the oven (chicken mini fillets, chips, cucumber and coleslaw.

We got some organic veal from our local butchers, so I am making schnitzel for us later, with sautéed potatoes and English Asparagus (the juicy fat ones)

Well done on driving FGT2 you know what they say if you don’t use it you lose it your confidence will return

Signing off 🙋‍♀️

Grandmabatty Sat 05-Apr-25 17:28:30

FGT I hope himself is on the mend. I can't drive at night any more because of cataracts. Cornergran I hope you are ok too. I have been so sociable today! Out for breakfast with a friend and her daughter. I came home and cleaned the kitchen, emptied and loaded the dishwasher, hoovered and stripped the bed and hung everything out. Then I was invited to dds this afternoon for tea and a blether. It was lovely to see the boys. Then just home and my neighbour called in with her phone number in case I need her after my op. She stayed for a cuppa and we had a blether too. In a while, I'll have the remains of yesterday's curry. But first I need to bring in the washing. It's been a busy and productive day. I hope you all are enjoying your Saturday.

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Sat 05-Apr-25 17:15:00

‘Evening All’.

I’m babysitting. Himself is at home getting over (hopefully) a stomach bug. He’s just had the BRAT diet all day … who eats ‘applesauce’? 🤔

I’ll be bathing L’il Miss later. She has a Lush bath bomb! I hope to drive myself home not long after 10pm. Fortunately only 3 sets of traffic lights. I’ve lost my confidence in many ways these days. Hey ho.

cornergran Fri 04-Apr-25 22:14:01

I’m thankful you have your daughter to care for you grandmab, sleep tight.

We’re both shattered tonight. Mr C did all the driving to come home as I’m distinctly under the weather. Look like Rudolph on his brightest night, black circles under my eyes would indicate boxing I’ve not been doing, wobbling as I walk would imply a closer relationship with alcohol than I have. Hay fever? Cold? The infection? Antibiotic reaction? The jury is out, may be all four. I’ve an appointment in the surgery on Tuesday about another matter, if I’m no better will seek an opinion.

In spite of me being a distinct handicap we both enjoyed our two nights away. Had a very comfortable hotel stay as well as a pure nostalgia trip by coach around the Cotswolds, every turn had us reminiscing and yes, we did remember when.

Met a friend for coffee this morning, cleaned up my parents grave - it still floods, always mud to clean away - and made it home while the motorway traffic was moving. I’m very grateful to Mr C. A quiet weekend ahead.

Goodnight all, look after yourselves

FriedGreenTomatoes2 Fri 04-Apr-25 20:51:20

What a thoughtful daughter you have Grandmabatty. 😊

Jaxjacky Fri 04-Apr-25 19:50:10

Hi all, stunning weather today after the cloud lifted, windows open at home and in the car, might have to de-forest my legs!
MrJ is slowly improving, still being careful with what he eats, it’s been a shock to him.
Curry sounds good Grandmabatty, I had a weird mix, jacket potato, ham and cauliflower - I’d have preferred curry! Anyway, I'm having a glass of wine, your good health all 🥂

Grandmabatty Fri 04-Apr-25 19:12:07

My daughter is amazing. As are all our daughters! I've had some curry and I'm going to bed soon. I ache all over. Probably the shingles jag.
