Good Morning Everyone,
Its dark but remains dry here in brackley.
Hopefully my usual bus trip to Bicester and shop and see those I know.
Health OK
Take Care,
Mick

Good Morning Thursday 3rd April 2025
(64 Posts)Good morning from Bristol. The warm weather has everyone coming out like lizards…. 🦎
I sat out reading my book yesterday afternoon, but the cold wind had me scuttling back indoors after about 30 minutes. My upstairs neighbour came to join me outside, but ended up indoors with me. We were joined by a new resident. A jolly afternoon was had.
Today I have my taichi class, unless I have trouble with my other eye, in which case the Eye hospital A&E will beckon. The eye has been uncomfortable most of yesterday. Fingers crossed it’s settled down for now.
Have a pleasant day. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
Good morning from Malta where we are promised a high of 19°C and a fine day.
I’m taking the boys to the play park this morning and a good friend of mine is joining us so it will be great to have an extra pair of hands for when Twin 1 goes walkabout!
They were very good boys yesterday and went off to nursery with no trouble.
I had my nails done (photo for anyone interested😂) which I enjoyed as my nail technician is such a sweetheart.
I had better get going. Wishing a good day to you all.☀️
Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire. It’s still dark outside but dry and still.
We spent a chunk of yesterday going round garden centres looking at Camellia bushes as DH had told me that DS had talked about buying one for his partner’s birthday. Got home and sent DS photos and prices only to discover he’d actually said he wanted a Magnolia. Grr, back to the drawing board!
I intend to have a quiet day today, my crochet hook and audio book are calling me.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Gosh you were early this morning Mick! I’m on Maltese 🇲🇹 time and enjoying a proper chamberpot ☕️ in dark but dry north Wales!
Not sure who’s in charge of the weatherbarn here these days but you’ve excelled yourself with glorious 🌞 promised for the next two weeks! The irony eh Bellasnana! Love those nails and wish I could grow mine!
Smoothest journey home yesterday ending with fishnchips in the garden for early tea! I’m going to set up the patio for al fresco dining for the duration - this will remind me of mi Casa life where all meals and 🍹🍸🍷were scoffed outdoors😋
Sorry to hear that Blossoming is still in hospital 💐 and others with poorly loved ones. Relief at stitch removal eh Susan? All part of mending😂
A cruise Blue Sapphire… ooh I’m 🤢with envy! What delights await you this time?
A trot to Lidl and Tesco later whilst Mr PG is tasked with painting inside the summer house in beach colours…I’ve had to resort to numbering the different tins as he’s colourblind- talk about Paint-by-Numbers😱
Have a good day everyone x
Pretty nails Bellasnana. Is the flower a transfer or did she paint it?
Good morning all. Dry and sunny today in Glasgow.
Still not calm enough to paint garden furniture using a spray gun which couldn’t happen anyway as I have hunted for said gun without success..no doubt DD1 has ‘borrowed it’!
Hairdressers this afternoon will be my outing for the day.
Wishing everyone a good day ahead and a better one for those coping with difficult times.
Good morning, Michael and all GNs. Still dark in South Yorkshire and there is a light frost on the car. I spent a very pleasant afternoon with a friend yesterday, drinking coffee and putting the world to rights at a local garden centre. We were still talking away in the car park.
My washing machine made a very strange noise yesterday during the spin cycle, though it did finish ok. I might run it through a cleaning cycle later to see what happens!
Walking group this morning and then a bite of lunch with DD before coming home. I may call in on my niece on the way home.
I love your pretty nails, Bellasnana - I have navvies hands and there’s no hope for them!
Have the best day you can, folks.
Good morning from a fine Torbay where the wind is keeping it chilly despite the sun's best efforts.
Lovely nails, Bellasnana!
Sorry to read yesterday of bonnybanko being in hospital and hope recovery comes soon, also thoughts with Susan56 and Marydoll.
I didn’t make it to Wednesday club because the surgery pharmacist was late ringing me. I was rather surprised to be told I am anaemic as this wasn’t mentioned in hospital. From teenage years, I have been anaemic at times, particularly during pregnancy, post surgical procedures, etc. My research revealed that sodium helps with the absorption of iron so that could explain it.
Wishing everyone a good day and I hope the FriedGreenTomatoes2 are safely home. 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩
Thanks for the lovely comments. baubles, the flowers are painted. It is fascinating to watch how she does it, she somehow has two colours on the brush at the same time and a very steady hand.😊
Good morning from sunny s somerset, cool wind again
The hand wax bath gave me a wonderful result, like magic, it increased hand circulation, relaxed the tendons and my hand pain disappeared and stayed away. I used a compression glove last night and the swelling has subsided, almost gone. The purchase was worth every penny, I will use it again this morning
Obviously no intense hand work today, not even knitting. I did get the magimix out of a cupboard yesterday and used that, also read the instruction book again. I wish I had room to keep the machine out. It weighs almost 7kg but then my sister has one which weighs almost 11kg and lifting mine is not a problem, I just need reminding to use it
The sun shows up the dust, best ignored and no point doing any windows with my left hand. Sitting out yesterday was no good, it was too cold but being inside is lovely, it feels like bathing in the sun and there will be more of that today
Have a good day
Good morning all from a chilly North Leicestershire. We have
in the forecast.
It is Memory Cafe today so up and off early for me. Sainsbury's delivery at teatime.
Morning Mick, morning All. Another sunny day ahead, wonderful
Antibiotics are doing their stuff and I can speak. Mr C says a mixed blessing. Huh. Off to Stowe on the Wold today, another coach trip, feast or famine with us.
Have the best day you can everyone. Hoping for something positive for us all.
Morning everyone, the 10yr old slept here last night, so it’s an egg and bacon sandwich for his breakfast with fruit afterwards, off to school for 8am (fortunately it’s next door but one)
Then I will have a latte and buttered crumpets, before setting off to Gingster’s town to my hairdresser. Woven highlights and cut, so needed as I missed my last appointment due to my knee and foot.
(((hugs))) to all our poorly friends 🌸🌸🌸
Have a good day 🙋♀️
Good morning from south Glos, more sunshine today!
The BT engineer set up our booster yesterday and I now have WiFi in my ‘shed’! That means I can do my online art course when I’m down there enjoying the garden.
Tiddler and I spent several happy hours out there , she’s a real sun lover, bless her.
I have art group1 this afternoon, there’s only 3 of us now so I do wonder if it will continue as the venue fee is quite steep for us. I will contact the original person who started it and find out, she had a hip replacement in February so hasn’t been coming.
Art group2 tomorrow morning, I must sort out what I’m painting this morning for both groups.
Enjoy the sunshine if you can 🌹
Good Morning from Durham. Another sunny day on the cards, but still cool - my SinL in Cheshire is 5degrees warmer!
I collected DD2’s Little Dog and 2 bags of laundry last night, so plenty to get on with later, after I’ve had coffee with a friend at a local garden centre.
DD2 is off to Malaga today for a long weekend - unfortunately, the weather has changed and heavy rain is forecast.
Sorry to hear Blossoming is in hospital - quite a few GNs aren’t too well either - get well soon.
Best wishes to all. X
So sorry, Blossoming: I was thinking of you being in hospital but my half awake brain came up with the wrong name. Hope you are soon feeling better.💐
Good morning everyone from a very bright and sunny Northampton - more of the same forecast, but I won't see a lot of it except from the bus window as I shall be in Milton Keynes again, meeting the lovely RosiesMaw again for shopping and lunch! I want to look for some new make-up for my cruise, and also need to get a present for a friend's 60th birthday next week.
Rather glad I shall be out in good company today, as it would have been our 53rd wedding anniversary. Back in 1972 it was Easter Monday and quite similar weather. I remember that my sister (a hairdresser) offered to do my hair, but half way through doing it her boyfriend arrived and she just left me and I had to finish it off myself! Lots of happy but bittersweet memories today.....
Got a few cruise clothes washed and freshened up yesterday, and still more to do. Also needed to try some on to make sure I could still get into them!
After lunch went for my covid jab, and returned the unsuitable dress to Roman. Also cancelled my papers while I am away and settled my bill.
Wishing all a pleasant day.
Good morning everyone from sunny and chilly mid Essex. Yesterday the wind was too strong and cold to tempt me outside, although there’s plenty to do in the garden.
I had my Covid jab yesterday morning, I thought I’d escaped the usual aching arm afterwards, but it was very uncomfortable in the night and still aches this morning.
Also saw my consultant in the afternoon, he was pleased with my progress and doesn’t need to see me again unless I have a problem. My worries about parking at the hospital were unfounded and I found a space easily although it was a fairly long walk to the hospital building. I survived the walk but my back ached all evening.
I need to collect some medication from the pharmacy today and there’s a pile of ironing to do.
Get well soon wishes to those who are in hospital or suffering at home.
Have the best day possible everyone.
April 3rd 1972.
Good morning all from Glasgow, it is 5°C.
After coughing half the night and wakening up DH, ( whom an earthquake wouldn't rouse) when I was yet again being sick, both he and I are exhausted.
We have Babydoll today, so a run to Troon is on the cards. She can exhaust herself running on the prom!
We have decided on a picnic, rather than a restaurant lunch, it would be a waste of money, given the fact I am not eating.
I have nail envy, Bella! After opening ten, huge boxes of church sundries yesterday, my nails are an absolute disgrace to womankind.
My plans for working in the garden in the afternoon, did not materialise, I fell asleep.
We had to console a very tearful Dollie yesterday, due to the fact that the book, she was so eagerly anticipating, from the school book fair, was out of stock.
I found a sweet note with 💕 the name of the book, and a Please can you help gran?, lying in the kitchen.
Guess what I will be looking for today?
She also fallen out with her best friend, life is so angst ridden, when you are nine years old!
Baubles, I have a beautiful camellia, patienly waiting to plant. I have had it for weeks, I can find neither the time nor energy to plant it!
The next time you are at Giffnock, try McLaren's nursery at Lugton for the magnolia.
BabyD will be here soon, so I must drag myself out of bed. Her first stop will be her high chair, her way of showing me that I am too slow with her breakfast!
Happily, Dollie awarded me ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for her breakfast yesterday,
BabyD, is not as generous with her praise. I have the vacuum ready, to hoover up the rejects. 🤣
Hugs and prayers for all our poorlies.
Karma, my RA physio used to give me wax hand baths for my painful wrists. It was sheer bliss!
I wish you all a pleasant day . I must look out the factor 50 sunscreen, we are forecast sunshine today and I need to cover the sun damage on my face and fair skinned baby's eczema is making its presence felt!
Good morning from a dry NE, I think there may have been a light frost as the windows are misted up.
Need to go and unlock the gates as the window cleaner is coming then it is a day of light housework.
Wishing all poorly people a better day.
Good morning from a sunny Black Country, where it is forecast sunny for next 2 weeks! Even ate lunch outside for the first time this year.
Managed to cut the lawn yesterday, then sat outside reading my book.
Thursday walk this morning, then onto Mums to take her out to lunch and food shopping.
Lovely photos and happy memories BlueSapphire
Sorry to hear Bonnybanko is in hospital. Wishing you well Bonny
Wishing you all the best day possible
Good morning all from an overcast Black country.
Yesterday's bus driver let me travel to playgroup without the early morning charge so a nice start to the day. Playgroup was busy and the children were very hyped up.
Today is shopping then will come back and sand down the garden bench ready for DH to paint, he has almost finished painting the garage so need to get his next job ready😃.
Sorry to hear Blossoming is in hospital hope she can return home soon.
Have the best day you can everyone and may you all find a little bit of ☀️.
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 4° and the clouds of night have rolled back to reveal sunshine. Hopefully it'll be nice all day. Bellasnana your nails are lovely. I have nails which break. BlueSapphire 💐
Yesterday was ok. Mountains of admin to do. The registrar hadn't received the death certificate from the surgery and promised to contact me when it arrived to arrange an appointment. No phonecall, so I'll be in touch with them this morning. The meeting at the undertaker was frustrating. There are things we need if mum's wishes are to be carried out. So no day for the funeral yet. My brother was both mildly helpful and incredibly unhelpful at the same time! He hasn't done something which he was supposed to and dd was raging at him. I've left that to her. 😂 Today he's supposed to pick up a certificate from the crematorium so dad's ashes can be buried with mum. I doubt he will.
On a slightly happier note 🙄 I have a chiropodist appointment this morning. Then home to phone the registrar again then my second shingles jag this afternoon. In between , I'm answering calls and messages from family who want to go to the funeral - not happening, immediate family only. I would like to get into the garden to make the most of the glorious weather. Salad for dinner. Have a good day all.
