Good morning everyone.

Hoped to sit out in the sun yesterday after we returned from shopping as it stated it was 18c in the car, but there was a very fierce wind blowing the lids of our recycling boxes and rattling the conservatory and gates so couldn’t.

Your wedding photos are lovely BlueSapphire. You both looked so happy. I hope you are out of hospital very soon Blossoming. Have a lovely prom walk with Babydoll MD.

Have a good day all.

Blossoming Thu 03-Apr-25 08:40:00

Good morning everyone. It’s a beautiful sunny morning in Lancashire. Today I will be working with Physio.

GrannyGravy13 Thu 03-Apr-25 08:17:19

BlueSaphire beautiful wedding day photos.

Bellasnana I love your nails, I opted for boring pink 🤷‍♀️

Good morning everyone from south Manchester where it’s a beautiful sunny start to the day. Bit blowy though at present. Alexa says 7°C now and 18°C later.

On arriving home last night we had to put all our clocks forward the hour! I noticed at the front door the yellow rose shrub we potted in November to celebrate our golden wedding anniversary has come on even in a week! New glossy leaves it looks small yet but promisingly healthy.

I got a great bargain at duty free at Málaga airport. I picked up a bottle of Gucci ‘Bloom’. Considered the smaller bottle then decided ‘nah’ because I ❤️ it and I treated myself to the €129 size, took it to the till and there was a huge discount (not shown at the shelves) and I was only charged €69. Huge grin from me! Don’t you just love it when you’re buying something anyway and then find it’s on offer? 😁

The pic is Cesar cutting the grass and setting out the sun loungers in preparation for Easter holidays! He said he’s going to clean the pools today and tomorrow - access is taped off during the winter months.

Good morning Mick and all GN's on a dry sunny but very cold North Yorkshire morning.

Been a very slow and painful morning getting up, dressed etc., have just managed to get bedding in washer and set it going, but thats it for now. Struggled to open bottles and even a plastic bag, could have cheerfully thrown it across the room, but of course didnt as wouldnt have been able to pick it up!!

Enjoyed meeting my friend for coffee yesterday. It would have been my 56th anniversary with my first husband yesterday, hard to believe it is such a long time ago. I am not as clever with all the emojis and photos on here, must learn how to do them. I will also need to learn what some of them stand for too!! As a child of about 10, I found a lovely old fan of my great aunts, and she taught me all the language and meanings of the fan - oh yes , they may not have had email, but knew how to send messages to young men across the room etc!! Well now I need to make sure that I learn about the emojis as I have gathered that what is meant as an innocent comment could be rather rude!

So just hobbling about and waiting for pain killers to give me some relief, then out to take cover off the yellow peril. I have a meeting at the library this morning and can get there and get parked up easier than with a car. There is a talk and then we are doing various games. I am going to teach the basics of whist to a group, but as they range from some who have played cards in some way before and at least know the suits etc, and a lady who claims she doesnt know the names of the suits, it might be slow going. I can understand not playing cars but find it quite amazing that someone of over 60 doesnt even know the suits! I might need patience to end up teaching her patience so that she can learn that whilst I try to sort the others out.!!

Well that and hopefully getting my washing on the line and dry is all I am planning, and just see what else I can manage later. Still I am grateful that I have managed to get up to swaledale and if the weather warms up a bit more, might be able to take my book outside and sit in the sun.

grandMattie, hope your other eye settles down well.
Bellasnana Very smart nails. My nails are clean, but have been breaking easily , so would be a waste of time getting them painted, but do enjoy seeing some quite spectacular ones around.
Marydoll do hope you are feeling a bit better now.

Wishing everyone an improving day healthwise and that there is something to enjoy. (suggest you dont watch the news!)

Good morning from a sunny W Kent. Art group this morning, time to pay for next term, very good value at £3 a session. Later DH has his Covid jab, mine is really painful this time. DGS4 is 22 today unfortunately Finals are looming and he has his head down working, well that’s what he told his mother 😂
Very best wishes to all

EkwaNimitee Thu 03-Apr-25 07:53:04

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny Carlisle.
Yesterday, yet again, I abandoned inside jobs for outside ones.
I cleaned the car windscreen inside and out...the whole car needs a good wash but it can wait till I feel it's OK to turn the outside tap on for the summer. I then spent some time on my knees cleaning the drainage gulleys on the drive, full of sand the rain had washed out from under the block paving and with weeds growing in it. Then spent some time brushing said sand back into joints. All the time enjoying the warmth of the sun on my back.
In the afternoon, I had to water new plantings. I had a book and coffee outside too but not for long, there's a chilly easterly breeze as there often is here at this time of year.

Today, I'm off to have my hair done then it will be back for a Tesco delivery. I may do some seed sowing later and definitely some reading.

Lovely nails, Bellasnana. It's no use me having mine done as I'm a very hands on gardener, plus my nail beds are uneven.

And lovely photos, BlueSapphire

Have the best possible day everyone.

Good morning from sunny Suffolk where I hope the chill wind is absent later. I’m meeting a friend for lunch and we hope to sit out a local hotel overlooking the river. If it is too chilly there is a lovely conservatory with the same view where we can retreat.

Before that I have my weekly stretch class and then a covid jab. I think this must be my 8th and hope, like all the others, apart from the first, I have the only symptom of a slightly sore arm.

Hope today is a good one for all especially those not feeling their best.

NanKate Thu 03-Apr-25 07:51:49

Good morning Mick and All.

What happy photos BlueSapphire congratulations 💐

Another lovely sunny day in South Bucks.

Very sore arm after my covid jab yesterday.

Jaxjacky Thu 03-Apr-25 07:45:56

Morning, a touch of high cloud, I think it will burn off, it seems MrJ is at last improving🤞
Happy pictures BlueSapphire
Stretch class this morning, bedding to wash, then a walk, hose out tonight.
My best wishes to the poorlies

I forgot to mention an amusing incident yesterday.
I was at the fridge getting milk; a young assistant was on his knees refilling the bottom shelf when I said loudly, “just like I like my men - at my feet”! He sniggered - as well he may. This comment coming from a wrinkled ridden, whited hair old bag…. I hope it made his day.

brook2704 Thu 03-Apr-25 07:39:41

Good morning everyone from Inverness, we’ve another beautiful sunny day ahead
I’m off to DD2s this morning to help out with a few jobs and then we’ll be home later to enjoy the garden
Beautiful pictures BlueSapphire thanks for sharing your happy memories ❤️

Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings

Ladyleftfieldlover Thu 03-Apr-25 07:38:49

Morning all from West Oxfordshire.

We had a lovely afternoon yesterday visiting our local NT place. If was the first day of opening for the new season. We ended our look around the house and walk round the garden with a delicious cream tea. They hadn’t put the prices up!

We are off to the cinema this morning in Oxford to see a film called The End. We are taking sandwiches with us as it is over lunchtime.

Have a good day everyone. I am thinking of those with difficulties.

GrandmaC47 Thu 03-Apr-25 07:36:36

BlueSapphire, beautiful pictures, a bittersweet day for you 💐.
We’re booked for our covid boosters this afternoon, hopefully we’ll be ok.
Hairdresser appointment at 9 am then hopefully our. cleaner will come.
DD1 is borrowing our car for a week, so I hope the fine weather continues as I’ll have to walk everywhere 😂.
Get well wishes to our poorlies.

Grandmabatty Thu 03-Apr-25 07:34:51

Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 4° and the clouds of night have rolled back to reveal sunshine. Hopefully it'll be nice all day. Bellasnana your nails are lovely. I have nails which break. BlueSapphire 💐
Yesterday was ok. Mountains of admin to do. The registrar hadn't received the death certificate from the surgery and promised to contact me when it arrived to arrange an appointment. No phonecall, so I'll be in touch with them this morning. The meeting at the undertaker was frustrating. There are things we need if mum's wishes are to be carried out. So no day for the funeral yet. My brother was both mildly helpful and incredibly unhelpful at the same time! He hasn't done something which he was supposed to and dd was raging at him. I've left that to her. 😂 Today he's supposed to pick up a certificate from the crematorium so dad's ashes can be buried with mum. I doubt he will.
On a slightly happier note 🙄 I have a chiropodist appointment this morning. Then home to phone the registrar again then my second shingles jag this afternoon. In between , I'm answering calls and messages from family who want to go to the funeral - not happening, immediate family only. I would like to get into the garden to make the most of the glorious weather. Salad for dinner. Have a good day all.

monk08 Thu 03-Apr-25 07:32:54

Good morning all from an overcast Black country.
Yesterday's bus driver let me travel to playgroup without the early morning charge so a nice start to the day. Playgroup was busy and the children were very hyped up.
Today is shopping then will come back and sand down the garden bench ready for DH to paint, he has almost finished painting the garage so need to get his next job ready😃.
Sorry to hear Blossoming is in hospital hope she can return home soon.
Have the best day you can everyone and may you all find a little bit of ☀️.

NannyJan53 Thu 03-Apr-25 07:32:04

Good morning from a sunny Black Country, where it is forecast sunny for next 2 weeks! Even ate lunch outside for the first time this year.

Managed to cut the lawn yesterday, then sat outside reading my book.

Thursday walk this morning, then onto Mums to take her out to lunch and food shopping.

Lovely photos and happy memories BlueSapphire

Sorry to hear Bonnybanko is in hospital. Wishing you well Bonny

Wishing you all the best day possible

harrigran Thu 03-Apr-25 07:28:07

Good morning from a dry NE, I think there may have been a light frost as the windows are misted up.
Need to go and unlock the gates as the window cleaner is coming then it is a day of light housework.
Wishing all poorly people a better day.

Marydoll Thu 03-Apr-25 07:25:29

Good morning all from Glasgow, it is 5°C.

After coughing half the night and wakening up DH, ( whom an earthquake wouldn't rouse) when I was yet again being sick, both he and I are exhausted.

We have Babydoll today, so a run to Troon is on the cards. She can exhaust herself running on the prom!
We have decided on a picnic, rather than a restaurant lunch, it would be a waste of money, given the fact I am not eating.

I have nail envy, Bella! After opening ten, huge boxes of church sundries yesterday, my nails are an absolute disgrace to womankind.
My plans for working in the garden in the afternoon, did not materialise, I fell asleep.

We had to console a very tearful Dollie yesterday, due to the fact that the book, she was so eagerly anticipating, from the school book fair, was out of stock.
I found a sweet note with 💕 the name of the book, and a Please can you help gran?, lying in the kitchen.
Guess what I will be looking for today?
She also fallen out with her best friend, life is so angst ridden, when you are nine years old!

Baubles, I have a beautiful camellia, patienly waiting to plant. I have had it for weeks, I can find neither the time nor energy to plant it!
The next time you are at Giffnock, try McLaren's nursery at Lugton for the magnolia.

BabyD will be here soon, so I must drag myself out of bed. Her first stop will be her high chair, her way of showing me that I am too slow with her breakfast!
Happily, Dollie awarded me ⭐⭐⭐⭐⭐ for her breakfast yesterday,
BabyD, is not as generous with her praise. I have the vacuum ready, to hoover up the rejects. 🤣

Hugs and prayers for all our poorlies.
Karma, my RA physio used to give me wax hand baths for my painful wrists. It was sheer bliss!

I wish you all a pleasant day . I must look out the factor 50 sunscreen, we are forecast sunshine today and I need to cover the sun damage on my face and fair skinned baby's eczema is making its presence felt!

Redcar Thu 03-Apr-25 07:17:17

Good morning everyone from sunny and chilly mid Essex. Yesterday the wind was too strong and cold to tempt me outside, although there’s plenty to do in the garden.
I had my Covid jab yesterday morning, I thought I’d escaped the usual aching arm afterwards, but it was very uncomfortable in the night and still aches this morning.
Also saw my consultant in the afternoon, he was pleased with my progress and doesn’t need to see me again unless I have a problem. My worries about parking at the hospital were unfounded and I found a space easily although it was a fairly long walk to the hospital building. I survived the walk but my back ached all evening.
I need to collect some medication from the pharmacy today and there’s a pile of ironing to do.
Get well soon wishes to those who are in hospital or suffering at home.
Have the best day possible everyone.

BlueSapphire Thu 03-Apr-25 07:14:39

Good morning everyone from a very bright and sunny Northampton - more of the same forecast, but I won't see a lot of it except from the bus window as I shall be in Milton Keynes again, meeting the lovely RosiesMaw again for shopping and lunch! I want to look for some new make-up for my cruise, and also need to get a present for a friend's 60th birthday next week.

Rather glad I shall be out in good company today, as it would have been our 53rd wedding anniversary. Back in 1972 it was Easter Monday and quite similar weather. I remember that my sister (a hairdresser) offered to do my hair, but half way through doing it her boyfriend arrived and she just left me and I had to finish it off myself! Lots of happy but bittersweet memories today.....

Got a few cruise clothes washed and freshened up yesterday, and still more to do. Also needed to try some on to make sure I could still get into them!

After lunch went for my covid jab, and returned the unsuitable dress to Roman. Also cancelled my papers while I am away and settled my bill.
Wishing all a pleasant day.

Ashcombe Thu 03-Apr-25 07:07:51

So sorry, Blossoming: I was thinking of you being in hospital but my half awake brain came up with the wrong name. Hope you are soon feeling better.💐

Georgesgran Thu 03-Apr-25 06:57:18

Good Morning from Durham. Another sunny day on the cards, but still cool - my SinL in Cheshire is 5degrees warmer!
I collected DD2’s Little Dog and 2 bags of laundry last night, so plenty to get on with later, after I’ve had coffee with a friend at a local garden centre.
DD2 is off to Malaga today for a long weekend - unfortunately, the weather has changed and heavy rain is forecast.
Sorry to hear Blossoming is in hospital - quite a few GNs aren’t too well either - get well soon.

Best wishes to all. X

RosesandLilac Thu 03-Apr-25 06:56:37

Good morning from south Glos, more sunshine today!
The BT engineer set up our booster yesterday and I now have WiFi in my ‘shed’! That means I can do my online art course when I’m down there enjoying the garden.
Tiddler and I spent several happy hours out there , she’s a real sun lover, bless her.
I have art group1 this afternoon, there’s only 3 of us now so I do wonder if it will continue as the venue fee is quite steep for us. I will contact the original person who started it and find out, she had a hip replacement in February so hasn’t been coming.
Art group2 tomorrow morning, I must sort out what I’m painting this morning for both groups.

Enjoy the sunshine if you can 🌹
