Good morning all - and late as ever as I've just read through the 50 (!!) posts ahead of me. I'm so sorry to hear all the sad news on here today. But ginster I hope you will have better news to share with us when you get the results of your DH's scan. Thinking of you and sending 🙏🫂
Sallyforth to you too and so glad your DD is there for you.
After such a lovely family weekend I'm finding it hard to get back into my solo routine - although I blame my Black Dog on the clock change as well!
Karma you did make me smile when you talked about your hedonistic pleasures - I would call a book and a comfy chair in the indoor sunshine a very well-earned treat in your case 😄
I have just realised that a date I thought was distant has just crept up on me so I must dash out and get a birthday card into the post - my niece will be 69 on Sunday! I still have such a vivid memory of carrying her at her Christening when I was only 14, so how can all of those years have flown by so quickly?!
So off I go. Enjoy your days in the sun.

You sound perkier Blossoming, made me smile

I’m feeling loads better.

The outlook is ‘perky’ with occasional energy crashes 😎

Good Morning from a dull Co Armagh, no doudt it will brighten later
Off to art class soon , it’s more like a club ! Our lovely teacher encourages us to enjoy each others work so there is plenty of chat and encouragement
Tomato plant (only one germinated) and cucumber to be potted up later , I bought tomato plants at the garden center , I hate giving up on my seeds , but it’s too late now to depend on them
Prayers and thoughts for worried and poorly friends

Grandmabatty

Thanks *Marydoll. I'm sorting out the Tell us once with the registrar this afternoon. She's offered to do it with me.
Four dirty nappies? 😱 Is she teething?

I blame the nursery! Heaven knows what they are feeding her!!!!

👋 Blossoming good to hear.

Good morning from sunny Lancashire and my bed in RPH, enjoying the views across the fells.

Yesterday I climbed and descended a staircase up to the next landing. I did not get a lollipop.

I’m becoming quite nifty with the walking frame.

My hair is clean and combed and looking quite gorgeous.

Enjoy your weekend everyone, it’s going to be a hot one 😎

I must have missed the post that your husband has suffered a stroke Gingster. I’m so sorry to hear this. Hopefully the brain scan will give you all some reassurance today. I will keep you in my thoughts. x

Good morning from sunny N Bucks - a high of 21C forecast for today, it hardly seems possible!
Lovely day in MK with BlueSapphire - much talking and how we laughed when the top dropped off the chilli oil bottle in ASK, flooding my Linguine and rendering it inedible. They were very good about providing another meal within minutes! Inspired by Marydoll I broke the habit of a lifetime and wandered through TK MAXX and picked up a DKNY cream half-zipped sweatshirt for under £20. I think it will be useful for Amsterdam at the end of the month (unless the heatwave continues)
Worrying news from Gingster - I hope the scan results are encouraging.
You may have seen my news about Ariadne elsewhere - very sad and shocked that she literally had only the three weeks they said at her diagnosis. A chance for goodbyes for family and close friends, but shockingly swift.
Carpe diem so true.

Good grief,

I have posted a picture of my neck, I was trying to examine the sun damage!!
I told you, that my eyes were bad!

Grandmabatty Fri 04-Apr-25 08:39:25

Grammaretto, I'll have the boys on Monday and Tuesday all day because of the Easter holidays. Getting back to normal will be good for me. They will distract me from the constant paperwork etc. Madeleine my brother is a master of learned incompetence to avoid taking any responsibility for anything. He can be helpful but only on his terms and doesn't discuss his decision which then impacts on everyone else. Thank you for your kind words.

Stilllearning Fri 04-Apr-25 08:36:13

Good Morning all, I haven’t time to read the thread just now, I’ll be back after mass but I read later yesterday about your husband Gingster, I’ll be remembering him and you in my prayers.x

Good morning all from a sunny Glasgow, where it is 6°C.

This is Auntieflo's funeral today.RIP. 🕯
Thank you to the Gransnetter, who let me know.

I was so sorry to hear about Gingster's husband. 💐
Grandnabatty, I hope that you can get everything sorted today. Remember to use the Tell us once facility, when registering your mother's death. It wasn't available when my mum died and I had such a difficult mess to sort out.
GM, I have gel tears on my repeat prescription for my dry eyes, due to my Sjogrens. My optician wrote to my GP and requested it. Worth thinking about it.

Yesterday's trip with Babydoll was interesting to say the least. Everything, which could go wrong did! It didn't help that she was in defiant mode, tried to unlock and open the door, when DH was driving and had four dirty nappies!!
A lovely lady invited us into her home, when she spotted me trying to clean BabyD up in the back of DH's car which has now lost it's new car smell I thanked her, but couldn't inflict that on anyone.😉
One of my tasks today is to fumigate DH's car.🤣

The weather was glorious, if a little chilly. I even got a look at the shops and to my surprise, DH got two golf tops. We used to live in Troon, but I would be bankrupt if we lived their now, so nany nice shops.
A hand painted lampshade was bought, after much deliberation, now to look for a base.
DH and I crawled into bed last night, helped by a small refreshment.

I am off to the surgery this morning and then brave the Asda near it. It is always so busy.
My day will be gentle, broken night with coughing and every joint in my body is aching. Looking after a wilful toddler, with a mind of their own is exhausting. We got talking with other grandparents at the swings, who laughingly said that they were experiencing exactly the same. It must have been something in the sea air. 🤣

Susan, I am pleased you are feeling a little better.
Sar, I hope your granddaughter is on the mend.

Have a good day folks, whatever your plans.

Good morning all. Yet another sunny day in Glasgow.

No plans for today so an easy day ahead doing as I wish. Most of it will no doubt be spent in the garden.

Gingster. Hoping your DH’s scan results give some positive news. Family are indeed important at such worrrying times.

Best wishes to all for a good day.

Good morning Mick and all GN's from a dry, quite sunny but cold North Yorkshire.

Been a struggle getting going today, lot of pain and even hands painful but more annoyingly not working well. Trouble opening lids or holding much. Was planning to go out for paper and then suddenly remembered, they are coming to pick up car for service oil change etc., so cant go anywhere until they come. Good job have the yellow peril to go on later. Hardly dare think of the cost as the last time they said that the tyres were ok but would probably need changing next time and also checking brakes. Oh well , my car is my freedom to get about so whilst I am still able to drive , just have to pay up.

Dont know what I will be able to do today, cant make any plans. I hope to go and look at a garden tomorrow. The first from the yellow book NGS, which is cheering to think of. Have loved looking at gardens from this scheme for years, and opened my garden early for snowdrops etc , but now will just enjoy seeing other peoples work. Might watch some of the horse racing this afternoon.

grandMattie hope your eyes are feeling a bit better now
grandmaBatty, sorry you are having all the extra trouble with the death certificate. Your brother seems to be determined to make things more difficult that they already are.Good luck with your cataract operation too.
Gingster, sorry to read about your husbands stroke. I must have missed that post.Do hope he is improving and very good that you have family with you.

Wishing everyone an improving day today

Grammaretto Fri 04-Apr-25 08:26:12

Good morning all from the Scottish Borders.
DGD is 15 today. I hope to see her over the holidays which begin today. Another DGD is 10 tomorrow and then it's my DS. It's the season!

My Aussie helpers cleared the greenhouse while I tackled piles of family stuff yesterday. They went off to a ceilidh while I had an early night!

Such a lot to do Grandmabatty but you seem to be managing well despite your DB. Do you still have childcare to do?

Well done to Iris and her family gMattie

I hope the day will warm up to its promises.
Have a good one everybody.

Good morning all from the Black country I'm late up this morning so haven't read through yet.
DH has a dental appointment for a chipped tooth.
Need to pick up his prescription and post some cards lots of birthdays this month.
Meeting friends at the club later.
Thinking of Ginster and her DH hope he makes a good recovery.
Marydoll hope you are feeling a tad better and your day with Babydoll was not to exhausting.
Best wishes to all and virtual hugs where needed, have the best day you can ☀️.

Sar53 Fri 04-Apr-25 08:15:05

Good morning from a bright and sunny Essex coast. The wind is still strong and very chilly.
I hope you have good news today Gingster. Love to you both.
More admin to tackle this morning and then a walk by the sea.
Have the best day you can everyone xx

Jaxjacky Fri 04-Apr-25 08:13:02

Morning from a brightening S Hants, looks like we’ve had a shower of rain, I agree with you re drought karmalady I’m keeping a large water butt (one of three) topped up from the hose.
Glad you’re improving Susan56
Hopefully some positive news today Gingster
MrJ is still improving but keeping to a bland diet, it’s knocked him for 6 actually being ill, first time in the 26 years I’ve known him.
Pottering for me today

EkwaNimitee Fri 04-Apr-25 08:12:14

Good morning Mick and everyone from sunny but chilly Carlisle.
Yesterday I was in town for an early hair appointment followed by a cruise through M&S trying not to be tempted by sweaters and tops, not too difficult as I'm trying to buy only natural fibres and their knitwear seems to be all manmade materials. I managed to get english asparagus in the food hall though, hidden as it was behind the mexican produce. I shall be pigging out on it for the next few weeks.
In the afternoon, out in the garden....I had a new rhododendron to plant but first, on a whim, I decided to move another one elsewhere. Both jobs requiring removal of clayey soil, digging of big holes and improvement of ground conditions. More plants await but fortunately they are smaller.

Today, I really must spend time on really boring admin and chasing people by phone. Gardening will be confined to seed sowing and re-potting.

Fingers crossed for your DH Gingster and best wishes to all unwell.

hollysteers Fri 04-Apr-25 08:10:39

Good morning from Sunnyside sandhills northwest coast.
I was glad to have a day at home yesterday after a week of being out and just tidy round etc.
It’s my BILs birthday in the south today and I have sent him a hand painted card and a cheese gift.

Art this morning and I’m going to see my pop singer cousin on tour here tonight with DSon. We are having a meal in town beforehand and he will stay overnight. I have a few little jobs lined up for him…

Thoughts to Gingster and Sallyforth in difficult times🌺

Liberty Fri 04-Apr-25 08:09:58

Another bright sunny morning here in Suffolk where the chilly wind of the first part of the week disappeared and yesterday was just right for sitting outside.

My friend and I had lunch outside overlooking the river with the odd small boat sailing past….a delightful 3 hours. Today DH,little dog and I will probably go to the seaside for a walk there.

The flowering cherry in the garden and the blackthorn trees are covered in blossom and we have toad spawn in the pond which sadly will probably be gobbled up by the resident moorhens.

Thinking of Gingster and her DH awaiting the scan result today but good to hear their family is rallying round with loving support. Hope others with worries can access the support they need.

Ashcombe Fri 04-Apr-25 08:09:05

Keeping you and your DH in my prayers, Gingster. It sounds like the hospital staff are doing their best for him in their swift organisation of a scan, which will help with the prognosis. 💐

Good morning from a bright W Kent. Back to the Bank this morning, never was organising an ISA so complicated, I don’t think hubs work for the elderly.
My deaf group this afternoon, a really lovely one to attend
Hoping things get better for your husband gingster
Best wishes
