Good Morning Friday 4tth April 2025
(52 Posts)Good morning Mick, morning all from South Lanarkshire where it’s dark, dry and cool at the moment.
Early start for us today. Childminding, school runs, and looking after them till tomorrow while their parents have a night away.
Have the best day possible everyone. Thinking of those who are struggling with health issues, sadness or worries just now.
Good morning from Malta where a sunny day is forecast with a high of 23°C.
Had a lovely day out with the boys yesterday although I was exhausted by the end of it!
We will be staying in this morning then they go off to nursery at 1.30 and I will go for my weekly hair appointment.
Thinking of you all, especially those who have had sad news or are feeling unwell.☀️
Good morning from Bristol. It’s supposed to be 11C but feels cooler.
I spent the morning at the Eye hospital yesterday and was told that my problems were a bad attack of dry eyes, sent home with drops.
I was unable to enjoy the sunshine due to the atropine/belladonna drops, and was only able to see properly when they wore out in the early evening.
Spanish today.
The family is off to Disneyland Paris for a long weekend with Flamingo Chicks. Iris told me that their family had been chosen to carry a banner. (I have no idea!)
Have a happy Friday and the best day possible according to your circumstances. Carpe diem 🦩🦩🦩🦩
Good morning from Shropshire where another sunny day is forecast with a high of 19.
I have been finally starting to feel better over the last 24 hours so will have another quiet day at home and hope the improvement continues.
Thinking of Grandmabatty and all suffering sadness and also all unwell.
Have the best day you can everyone🌻🦩
Good morning from a drizzly and cool Torbay.
Luckily, I went out yesterday afternoon before the rain began. I needed to top up my Complan supplies as I’m finding it a helpful drink when I’m not sleeping. Despite eating well in hospital, I lost weight which isn’t readily returning.
My lovely neighbour, who was a great support when I was in hospital (did washing, ironing, also brought forgotten items when visiting) is coming for coffee this morning.
My optician is a great promoter of lubricating eye drops, grandMattie so I tend to keep bottles in various places as a reminder! I do hope your eyes feel more comfortable now. Your family's Disney trip sounds exciting! Presumably, it’s honouring Iris for all she has been through?
It’s good you are resting as it is key to your healing, Susan56. I expect it feels strange as you are so busy normally with those early morning drives to Stafford!
A good day to you all! 🦩💐🦩🥰🦩
Good morning all from a greyish looking North Leicestershire- we are promised sunshine for the next few days.
To day I have a few emails to do and then have to go to the butchers and Waitrose.
This afternoon we have covid jabs booked.
I was sorry to hear about Ginster's husband. And hope things are looking brighter.
Have the best day possible everyone.
Good morning from s somerset, lots of sun again today, starting at 11am
My slug nematodes came yesterday, they have to be in damp soil, so I rushed around late yesterday, first watering my veg and fruit areas at home, then diluting the nematodes and watering in, portion by portion. Just in time as we had 16mm of rain overnight. One of my big water butts is just about empty, I feel we will have a drought this year. I need to keep the nematode soil damp for another 3 weeks
I did some knitting too, just enough to test my hand and it was fine. A bit of de-cluttering re-arranging in my kitchen yesterday and finally, my le creuset tagine is to go
Today I plan to get the veg- bed porous covers back on as the wind is so drying, I will be outside as soon as it is light. Drying but cool wind, not comfortable for sitting outside but lovely inside, I do mostly ignore the dust and streaks shown up by the sun
Organic delivery will be here in an hour, fridge is ready
Reading books and chair are ready, for basking in the indoor sunshine. My hedonistic pleasure
Have a good day
Good morning, Michael and all GNs from South Yorkshire. Mist covering the fields and a light frost on the car. It’s going to be another bright day though. I was tired all day yesterday and even my morning walk did little to enliven me, though we did see one or two bluebells! Very early! DD gave me a nice healthy lunch. I sorted out some financial bits and pieces in the afternoon and that was it really.
I shall let today take its own course, but there will be a walk somewhere along the way.
Have the best day you can folks.
Morning Mick, morning All. Another sunny day ahead.
Off home later today after a mixed couple of days away, whether antibiotics or lingering bugs I’ve felt foul and continue to do so. We’ve been very comfortable and well looked after by attentive staff, a treat not to have to think about food for sure, Mr C has been very well fed, I’ve looked at the food and worried the waiter! Yesterdays coach trip was real memory lane stuff and very relaxing, overall the good definitely outweighs the not so good.

Thinking of ginster and all facing worries and challenges. Hope Friday is kind to us all,
Morning all, it’s currently 6° and forecast to reach 19° and sunny, I hope the wind isn’t as chilly as yesterday.
Off to the gym this morning, then no doubt tea/coffee and a chat afterwards.
The 10yr old is here after school until DD gets back from work, The Imp is going to the other grandparents, it’s good for them to have one to one time.
Off to one of the local Indian restaurants for dinner this evening.
Gingster thinking of you and your DH 🌸
(((hugs))) to all our poorly morning friends, and those coping with loss 🌸🌸🌸
Morning all from West Oxfordshire. A bright sunny day is forecast.
Yesterday’s film - The End - can only be described as a dystopian musical. It lasted two and a half hours and we took sandwiches. There were just six in the cinema. Two left halfway through!
OH has croquet with the U3A after lunch, the first session of the year.
Elder son and our granddaughter are coming this evening and will stay for the weekend. Son’s partner is working so is unable to come. I’ll be sorting out their rooms and food. I need to buy petrol too. We didn’t pass a single petrol station yesterday on our travels.
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning all from Polmont where it's currently 6° and grey. Hopefully the clouds will dissipate sooner rather than later. I'm glad you are starting to recover Susan. I, too, am concerned for Gingster. I hope her dh is ok. An honour for your family GrandMattie.
Yesterday morning was spent on the phone, after I'd been to the chiropodist. There was a big complication with mum's death certificate being signed which I won't go into here. Yet again, it appears my brother has been responsible for it and it caused a number of us lots of issues to resolve. Fortunately a lovely doctor phoned me and checked I was happy with what she wrote. My neighbour came across for a chat- they're just back from Lanzarote - and told me they had squirrels in their loft. It cost a substantial amount of money to get rid of them and clear them out. I will definitely keep an ear out for them moving my way! The registrar phoned later to arrange an appointment, so that is what I'll do today. In the afternoon I had my second shingles jag. I felt shivery later on, so it was an early night for me.
Today I will go to the surgery to pick up a copy of the death certificate, then the library to choose new books. Next Thursday I get my cataract op and won't be driving for a while, so I will need something to do. In the afternoon I'll head to the registrar to get the admin done and pick up the death certificate. I will get a number of copies to make life easier. My arm is rather sore, so I'm not sure if I'll be in the garden much. I want it tidy before I get my cataract done. I will make a large slow cooker pot of either mince or bolognaise sauce and freeze some. Dd has said she will feed me after the op for a few days and my neighbour has offered to put the bins out. I've ordered a grabber too which should arrive today. Probably mince in some form for dinner. Have a good day all.
Good morning from a wet spot in south Glos where we’ve had very welcome rain overnight, the garden was getting very dry.
I actually watered my pots yesterday when doing some gardening.
We had a lovely dogs walk in the sunshine, the blackthorn and hawthorn blossom are stunning this year and my roses are looking so good - they definitely enjoy the wet weather we’ve had over winter.
I enjoyed art group in the afternoon, all 8 of us! I have my other art group this morning so plenty of tea and chat!
An afternoon in the summerhouse I think with my needlework and an audiobook book sounds good 😌
I hope today goes well for you all 🌹
Good morning all.
Dh had a scan yesterday so we will find out the extent of the stroke he’s suffered.
Everyone is rallying round - family is so important at these times ❤️. Dgd1 travelled back from southampton as soon as she heard about her ‘Gaga’.
Prayers for all who need them 🙏
Thinking of you all, gingster. x
Thankyou for all your kind thoughts 🙏
Good Morning from Durham. Another sunny day, but for me there’s little warmth to it, as yet.
DD2 arrived in Malaga safely, but it’s forecast rain all day.
The Wednesday no-show shed man says he’ll come this morning. I think the job is below his pay grade, but what do I know?
Walked Little Dog last night and despite the bird song, there’s little sign of Spring here, with only the odd hawthorn showing a bit of green and a few tufts of new grass here and there.
Hoping Gingster has some update today about her DH’s condition and prognosis 💐.
Best wishes to all. X
Good morning everyone from a sunny and milder mid Essex, I hope the wind drops a bit today, it’s cooled the temperature quite a lot in recent days. Some overnight rain would be helpful as the garden is very dry and I’m having to water the plants in pots. Like karma one of my water butts is almost dry already.
I’m going to try to clear some of the stuff in the garage, but don’t know how to dispose of some of it and the council website isn’t helpful! I’ll have to get a skip and arrange for family to come and help one day.
grandmattie I hope Iris and her family have a great time at Disney Paris.
grandmabatty I hope you can register your mum’s death today without too many problems. A busy time for you.
gingster I hope your DH is recovering now.
Have a good day everyone.
Good morning everyone from Inverness where it’s another lovely sunny day ahead
Hoping your DH is doing ok Gingster such worrying times, I hope he makes a good recovery
I’m off to the gym this morning and then having a coffee with my pal. I should be home early afternoon to enjoy some time in the garden
Grandmabatty such a lot to sort out but sounds like you’re making progress
Thinking of everyone with worries and struggles, hope today is gentle and take care all whatever the day brings 💐
Good morning. Hopefully another sunny day in N. Bucks. I want to get in the garden , shoulder pain permitting.
Thoughts with those who are poorly or have sadness at this time.
Wishing all some sunshine and a smile along the way.
Good morning everyone from a bright and sunny 🌞Northampton, a warm day forecast.
Dance classes this morning, then out to watch rugby tonight - Northampton Saints playing French team Clermont in the European Cup quarter-final.
Had another lovely day with Maw in Milton Keynes yesterday; Italian lunch and
, and lots of talking! Got my new make-up for my cruise, but according to the girl on the Chanel counter the perfect one for me was the one I bought last time in exactly the same shade! A case of if it ain't broke don't fix it....
Towels to hang out before I go to dance, and afterwards will sort out some more cruise wear to be freshened up.
Hope all who can will enjoy some.sunshine 🌞🌞 today.
Good morning from a dry and sunny NE.
Spent some time searching my cupboards yesterday, the bulb has gone in my fridge and I was sure I had a spare. No luck with the bulb but I did find something else I have been trying to find for 3.5 years.
Today I will do some cooking ready for DS and GD coming tomorrow.
Sorry to hear about your DH Gingster, hope his treatment is sorted.
Have the best day you can everyone.
Ash, I understand that Pink Flamingoes have taken over Disneyland Paris for the weekend. All the families will have at least one disabled child. They want to show the Disney corporation the lacks in facilities for disabled children (and adults).
Good morning everyone. It's a bright morning here in Cheshire. The very strong wind from yesterday has gone. It almost blew me over. I had acupuncture to help calm me coping with my sister's death and I slept a few hours last night.
My DD is here and is taking good care of me. She thought she was coming to help me sort out my dietary problems, but then my sister died, so she will stay for a while and work from here. She is my rock.
Prayers for those with sorrows and worries. Gingster hope for a good prognosis for your DH. xx
