Anyone else seen the picture in the Telegraph of Boris being pecked by an Ostrich as he drove round a safari park? That’ll teach him to drive around with the windows open. Lucky it wasn’t a lion. It’s quite funny - well I thought so and I’m not a Boris hater.

He probably thought it funny too.

When I saw it, I was reminded of Rod Hull and emu. Quite funny but not at all sensible, but then he is not know for that.

An elephant once “attacked” my car at Longleat Safari Park. Many years ago I was driving my brand new mini with the windows closed, through the park when a moth eared elephant took a fancy to my mini. Maybe love at first sight? It grabbed hold of my near side wing mirror with its trunk and started pulling. All I could do was slowly drive to keep up with it to stop the mirror being wrenched off, whilst admonishing my boyfriend now my dh to do something! No sign of a park warden. Dh tried to a divert its attention. Eventually it let go and I very quickly reversed and drove away. I suppose I was lucky it didn’t sit on the bonnet.

People do mad stuff at Safari Parks. Some years ago now my OH and I went to Woburn for the day and the enclosure had black bears( might have had monkeys and black bears) and as we all paused ( thing it was to enjoy or suffer from the monkeys) a car in front opened a side door. Out stepped an adult with a small child , arranged to child's clothing so it could go to the toilet: small child duly obliged: they got back into the car. For crying out loud. Have they never seen the speed at which a bear can move ? drop from the trees ,
I'm glad Boris and his own have come to no harm but ........

Goodness knows I was never a fan of Boris, but IMO his air of cheerful optimism is something Starmer could do with emulating , just a bit. Keir’s usual expression tends to remind me of those ‘The end of the world is nigh’ placards you used to see.

All I heard was "Oh cripes"

The worst part of this story is that he was swearing whilst with his children. Why?

Oh, missed that!
I need to turn the sound on 😯

I miss Boris too. Never a dull moment.

Probably quite dull if you suffered due to his lies.

I’d tip the ostrich so he does it again. Cannot abide that obfuscating clown.

Felt sorry for the ostrich really. What a sight!! No wonder it pecked at him - hope it didn't leave a bad taste in its beak/mouth though😈

Not a Boris fan.
He had his infant son beside him. Lucky it wasn't the child's face the emu bit.

It was an ostrich. 🙂
I think tourists are encouraged to feed them.
This one obviously voted Labour.

Ashcombe tbh with the pandemic and Ukraine I would like to see the mess we had been in if Labour had been in charge . And Keir wanted us locked down harder and longer. I don’t think any party would hsve come out of it well . As for parties, I know lots of companies that did the same as ordinary people did

Stupid man.

Once an eejit always an eejit!

25Avalon Thu 10-Apr-25 14:48:09

The ostrich maybe thought he was the cream and wanted a bit (bite)

Sounds as if the ostrich found him as obnoxious as I do and always have.

Who in their right mind drives round a safari park with the car windows open?

Of course, it is a sweeping assumption that Boris Johnstone is in his right mind.

spabbygirl Thu 10-Apr-25 14:07:41

Elrel

Still showing the ‘rules don’t apply to me’ attitude he apparently had at Eton and during Covid. What a child he still is.

Spot on Ell!!

Do we know he has actually broken any rules?
The North Texas Safari Park states:
Guests will have the opportunity to enjoy a short drive-through experience from the comfort of their vehicles, where you will get up close & personal with many of our animals from all over the world. Here you will have the chance to feed exotic animals such as ostrich .
The only rules are to keep doors closed and no hanging OUT of windows.

On Facebook, there is a Reel ( a short Video ) of Trump being attacked by The Penguins !!!!!!!!!

Can drive round Longleat with windows open and child on lap in certain enclosures
My GC loved feeding some of the amimals via the windows. Don't think Boris did anything wrong.
