Charles & Camilla flew out to Rome on a planned visit so they missed one another by mere hours. Harry obviously didn’t want to spend any time with them. He will have known of their itinerary. There are so few occasions when he does fly over now from Montecito. An opportunity lost, especially with his father’s health I think.

In the minds of many Annie but in reality .

Harry opted out of royal duties.

He is as much at risk in the US as he is here.
Should we be paying for his security over there?

Anniebach Sun 13-Apr-25 11:09:18

He is a minor royal, when he wanted out his father was not King, he is no different to those you call minor royals

Harry is the king’s son, he served in our military. He’s surely more at risk than minor royals

According to the Guardian a decision will be handed down after Easter

Anniebach Sun 13-Apr-25 10:21:19

should all those in the royal family receive security if like him
they do not carry out royal duties ?

OldFrill Sun 13-Apr-25 10:13:14

I am far from a royalist but l think Harry and his family should be entitled to armed protection in the UK, who funds it is the real question.

Anniebach Sun 13-Apr-25 09:10:49

Do they have to consider if his security was lowered to keep him in the royal family

eazybee Sun 13-Apr-25 07:47:14

I believe the judges have retired to consider it for a few weeks. (More money and time wasted.

I don’t believe the late Duke and Duchess of Windsor had much security and they were in a very similar position.

If Princess Anne retired from the RF and her duties, can you imagine her making a fuss over security? I think not.

But most people are fond of her. Thats a big difference in being safe when the public likes you or hates you.

Can you imagine a judge looking up and seeing Harry - yet again?

Groundhog Day 😂

*Who’s to say we could successfully agree a) to have a republic?
or b) who should be the president if we did?*

We should be given the chance to decide. It's a ridiculous assumption we all want a monarchy.

After this what next ?

Oh, I'm sure they will think of something (H&M, that is)!

They were in the Caribbean too for a while. No obvious security.

Anniebach Sat 12-Apr-25 18:53:05

The Windsors lived in France . Al Fayed bought their house .

Thanks Calendargirl

Calendargirl Sat 12-Apr-25 18:14:30

I think the outcome won’t be known for a few weeks.

I suppose they’re weighing it all up.

NotSpaghetti Sat 12-Apr-25 17:55:30

Does anyone know what the outcome of the case was/is?

It seems to have passed me by today!

Oh leave the poor bugger alone! It is all speculation - like local gossip on a grand scale. There is obviously a bit of a family rift - let us leave them to sort it out in peace.

Harry obviously didn’t want to spend any time with them. - it is obvious only to you. You, nor I nor anyone else have the faintest clue about it, so need to butt out.

I totally agree. Leave them be.
