Harry’s over for a Court case but not to see his Papa. đŸ€”

Charles & Camilla flew out to Rome on a planned visit so they missed one another by mere hours. Harry obviously didn’t want to spend any time with them. He will have known of their itinerary. There are so few occasions when he does fly over now from Montecito. An opportunity lost, especially with his father’s health I think.

I agree. That sounds perfectly reasonable.

The Raven decision was that when he visited the UK his security would be assessed in the same way that any other prominent visitor would have their security assessed and provided as necessary.

That would take into account any risk from heritage and service, so I can’t really understand what more he thinks he should have?

But apparently it wasn't.

That is the crux of the case.
He says it should have been assessed like any other prominent visitor and a risk assessment should have been conducted.

I hope it's over soon!
What a mess!

Anniebach Thu 10-Apr-25 10:10:42

How does he know how other prominent visitors are assessed

NotSpaghetti Thu 10-Apr-25 10:12:59

Because there is a protocol that apparently wasn't followed in his case.

According to his barrister.

Recollections may vary.

Anniebach Thu 10-Apr-25 11:32:42

Harry’s recollections certainly are varied

I just hope the court sends the cheeky, overprivileged little bugger away with a flea in his ear.

I’ve often wondered whether Charles’ cancer is not at least partly down to all the stress caused by Harry. I know of two cases where cancer was very likely down to recent extreme stress or trauma.

IMO, PH has spoken his truth to the world’s media. The royal family rarely comment but ‘recollections may vary’. Maybe this is also a case of ‘recollections may vary’.

I can’t see what is wrong with ‘bespoke protection’ that visiting diplomats, pop stars and other celebrities receive. GCHQ, MI6 and MI5 will assess the risks as they normally do. If he wanted a private visit, Balmoral over the summer would be ideal, far away from prying eyes.

I certainly don’t trust him and his wife. I was so disappointed when they stepped back but his actions since have attracted publicity which I thought they wanted to get away from.

It certainly reminds me of Edward VIII and his behaviour. What a mess.

Allira Thu 10-Apr-25 12:36:08

Witzend Don't hold back! 😃
That was a surprise, you're normally so kind and polite!

Shocking comment

ayse I don't think visiting pop stars or celebrities get security paid for by the British taxpayer when they visit the UK.
They pay for their own.

Visiting diplomats and Heads of State are entitled to security when in this country.

Wasn't there trouble when Taylor Swift was allowed a police escort, or special protection; I don't remember the details.

Heaven forbid that she should warrant better treatment than Harry, although he doesn't have free tickets to offer for his appearances. A pot of jam maybe?

Spit in someone’s tea , how vulgar

Really? Is that all you have to say? Like so many countries, we could live without the leeches that are the royal family. It's such an antiquated concept and goes hand-in-hand with the idea of the British Empire conquering and pillaging countries around the world. Brits cite the tourism income occasioned by the royals, but countries like the USA and Croatia, Italy and Germany, earn high incomes from tourism, some more than GB, without having royals to parade. They're an utter waste of space.

Harry’s only appearances are tv interviews

Taylor Swift did have security. There was a bit of a Hooha about it

Boz Thu 10-Apr-25 16:17:47

Edward and Mrs Simpson tried to set up a rival court when they were exiled, to foster their credibility and privilege. The Sussexes are trying the same; remember the wreath laying ceremony they organised in America to coincide with Armistice day?.
Also, come the day when they both turn fifty and the press turns its usual intrusive lens on their children and the Wales's children, all will be lost as they will be forgotten.

Boz Thu 10-Apr-25 16:28:44

At least Taylor Swift has something to offer; free tickets if nothing else. What has H contributed in recent years except trouble and worry?

Yes! Let's have a Republic and a President just like the Americans, who broke away from Britain in the reign of King George III.

Can't think of anything better.

Oh - wait a minute đŸ€”

Perhaps the police were there to protect the public from what could have resulted from the mania and hysteria that surrounds this singer (for some reason beyond me!).

Allira Thu 10-Apr-25 16:45:11

😁 They'll be there like bees round a -- honey-- jam pot.

Anniebach Thu 10-Apr-25 16:51:59

Never heard Taylor Swift, does she elevate her fans ?

Allira Thu 10-Apr-25 17:07:03

I'm the wrong person to ask Anniebach!

Jaberwok Thu 10-Apr-25 17:33:44

I agree with Witzend, I'm a royalist. Just go away Harry, you made your royal bed! Looking at film of Princes William and George at the football match, and how happy and together they looked made me feel that this is probably what Harry had visions and hopes of when he got married. Just a case of William marrying the right girl and Harry marrying ambitious Meghan.
