Harry’s over for a Court case but not to see his Papa. šŸ¤”

Charles & Camilla flew out to Rome on a planned visit so they missed one another by mere hours. Harry obviously didn’t want to spend any time with them. He will have known of their itinerary. There are so few occasions when he does fly over now from Montecito. An opportunity lost, especially with his father’s health I think.

The fact is that none of us know exactly what went on behind closed doors. Perhaps unforgivable things were said on all sides? There are plenty of stories of estranged families on here to illustrate that there can be all kinds of reasons why situations like this can arise.
Speculate as much as you want as to who is to blame etc, but the fact is that none of us know the real reasons behind it all. I've made no secret of the fact that I couldn't give two hoots about the RF, but I don't think things are as black and white as some people seem to think - ie, H&M bad, everyone else good.
When it comes to family dynamics and situations like this, there's usually far more to it than meets the eye.

Agreed.

Nobody knows anything to their relationship - apart from the King and his son. People speculate with no actual facts. It's always somewhat interesting to read, here, what people 'know' - the King did or didn't see his son prior to this trip, the King does or doesn't communicate with his son and grandchildren.

Many people 'know' these private matters - or do they?

Betrayal of trust not behind closed doors but on world wide television

Yes, some of it may have been played out on tv, but is anyone really naive enough to think that there wasn't more to it behind the scenes? Like I say, not one of us actually knows the real truth of the situation - the full facts. Anything else is just speculation, but some people are very quick to assume that it's all very one-sided. I just don't think these things are ever that simple.

Anniebach Wed 09-Apr-25 14:16:36

I don’t guess what may have been said or done behind the scenes, I accept many do

Ilovedogs22 Wed 09-Apr-25 14:19:25

Yes Norah, it's ridiculous how so many people blithely believe everything & anything that they read in the newspapers!
Most newspapers have a agenda of their own. Don't believe everything you read people. 😶

They seem happy, and have so many of life’s blessings

Yes, to the second comment.

To the first, šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø. Really?

If so, he at least, often looks completely the opposite.

And Meghan? šŸ¤·ā€ā™€ļø

Aveline Wed 09-Apr-25 14:44:35

It's not the newspapers I was meaning but their TV interviews and programmes and Harry's book!

With great privilege comes great responsibility - a fact sadly overlooked by some of our royals today.

eazybee Wed 09-Apr-25 15:48:41

If Harry were truly happy with his chosen wife, children and lifestyle, I don't think he would find it necessary to keep returning to Britain to mount yet another attack on his chosen loss of privilege.
The point is, he does not count for anything now, has no role to play, and is becoming extremely tedious.

Aveline Wed 09-Apr-25 15:52:39

He's just a 'celeb' these days. They all pay for their own security. I'm sure he can pay for his.

Anniebach Wed 09-Apr-25 15:53:45

He told the world of his visit to the deathbed of his grandmother, what he said to her dead body.

There is no depths he will not sink to

Could be planned? Could be a coincidence? I am sure the date of the court case will have been set for a while. Only the other week Charles cancelled a visit due to poor health. When was this visit planned? I tend to think it was Charles who made the decision.

So Charles made the decision to be in hospital, having a reaction to cancer treatment, thus forcing hundreds of other people to change the arrangements, just so he could be out of the country when his son visited?

I've heard it all now šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚šŸ˜‚

love0c Wed 09-Apr-25 18:09:50

Allira? No , Charges going to Italy. This visit!!

love0c Wed 09-Apr-25 18:10:52

Going to Italy. No ideas where charges came from!!!

love0c Wed 09-Apr-25 18:12:51

PS Why so snipey? Strange post there Allira.

Allira Wed 09-Apr-25 18:15:52

Not at all.

When so much has to be organised with a State visit, trying to co-ordinate diaries, it's not just up to Charles to say exactly what date he wants to visit!

A prime example of being told what to think? I used question marks and the term 'tend to think'. No question marks or 'tend to think' in yours there.

Iam64 Wed 09-Apr-25 19:25:05

Who and how is someone telling you what to think ?

Allira Wed 09-Apr-25 20:02:18

No-one!

I doubt that Charles and Camilla chose to spend their 20th wedding anniversary at a State banquet, they'd probably rather be having a candlelit dinner-Ć -deux at Windsor.

You do love making things up, don’t you?
That’s putting it politely.

He’s not even that. He’s meghans spare now.

Iam64 Wed 09-Apr-25 20:16:31

Yes, Harry and Meghan are living the celeb lifestyle. That doesn’t mean his heritage and action in our military doesn’t mean he’s potentially more at risk than your average retired soldier

Most would not have written or spoken about how many they killed on operation.
It was a dreadful mistake which put him and others at risk.

Iam64 Wed 09-Apr-25 20:25:04

I don’t dispute that he’d have been wise not to have been specific but take that away, he’s still a target because of his heritage and service

Lathyrus3 Wed 09-Apr-25 20:40:29

The Raven decision was that when he visited the UK his security would be assessed in the same way that any other prominent visitor would have their security assessed and provided as necessary.

That would take into account any risk from heritage and service, so I can’t really understand what more he thinks he should have?
