Harry’s over for a Court case but not to see his Papa. 🤔

Charles & Camilla flew out to Rome on a planned visit so they missed one another by mere hours. Harry obviously didn’t want to spend any time with them. He will have known of their itinerary. There are so few occasions when he does fly over now from Montecito. An opportunity lost, especially with his father’s health I think.

Well no, the Kings protection is guaranteed, whatever he does they go with him - unless you mean from his son, which is a different sort of protection?

Casdon

I wonder if he has invited his father to the USA to stay with him and his family - that way protection wouldn’t be an issue.

But his father's protection would be.

Actually I misread Iam’s post. It would be hypocritical of me to say I feel sorry for somebody I have criticised on this thread.

My sympathy is all for the King at the moment.

He doesn't seem to realise repeating private conversations and revealing private information about others makes him untrustworthy.
Discussing his father's illness like that was really quite shocking - that is not for him to mention under any circumstances, unless requested by the person affected.

I meant I buy the cards!

Harry may have forgotten it was his niece's birthday so may not have set out to try to spoil a happy occasion for the family, being so self-absorbed.

You are very kind, but of course he did it deliberately on Charlotte's birthday. If he didn't remember, his wife certainly would and remind him - and the rest followed as night follows day.

You're right, of course. I've always had to prompt DH and remind him of family birthdays and buy the cards etc.

Jaberwok Sat 03-May-25 19:37:36

Even if the.King were to go to him, you would still have the problem of confidentiality, or rather lack of, + photo.shots for public distribution. The problem is lack of trust, understandably, and this is the major, seemingly unsolvable problem.

I can’t not feel sympathy for him . No point detailing my reasons

Well, I feel sorry for him too.
He clearly needs some help, he's not getting things in perspective at all.

I can take a guess, Iam and I feel the same.

Iam64 I've said up thread how sad the whole situation is. I can feel sadness while still believing he is his own worst enemy with his total lack of any self awareness. He is extremely unsympathetic and uncaring towards the family he constantly criticises and condemns, but then says he wants reconciliation. He doesn't seem to realise repeating private conversations and revealing private information about others makes him untrustworthy. Who'd feel safe having anything more than the most banal conversation with him?
Obviously you don't have to answer but do you feel any sympathy for his family who are maligned by him?

^He is writing to the PM and Home Secretary over the decision^

Good luck with that.

I can’t see Keir and Yvette wanting to upset the King, can you?

It would make for awkward weekly PM meetings.

I doubt that would bother them. We have had Prime Ministers and monarchs who do not get on before.

As some official said today. Every time Prince Harry tries to challenge his protection, he gets exactly the same judgement from every source. At what point does he realise that his pursuit of protection is utterly futile. He has had the same answer from 3 or 4 different sources. It is not going to change.

I read this evening that he has said that he can never be just a private citizen. Well, I suggest he returns to the USA, and he and his wife settle down to a quiet private life with their children. He will be amazed how quickly he becomes completely forgotten and can walk around the streets without anyone recognisisng him.

Harry is lost, I fear for them

I don't fear for her; she'll always thrive. But I think you're right about Harry; he looks a broken man. He gambled everything and lost it all. I wish I could feel sorry for him.

Anniebach Sat 03-May-25 18:33:34

Megan on a podcast, what world does she inhabit, Harry is lost,
I fear for them

Mollygo Sat 03-May-25 18:28:04

The way current feelings are running, I wouldn’t expect either Starmer or Cooper to do anything that will involve further taxpayers money to support Harry going against the decision.
But who knows?

He is writing to the PM and Home Secretary over the decision. He just cannot leave things alone. Like picking at a scab.

I wish he could channel his energy into something productive and not feel so hard done by all the time. He chose this life.

Yesterday was Princess Charlotte's birthday. How sad that her uncle couldn't keep his grievances to himself till after her special day! Sadly it's what we and the RF have come to expect from this vindictive man.

There was a lovely photo of the birthday girl shown on the news, taken by her mother in the Lake District.

Diana did her first tell all in a book, her ‘ there were three in the
marriage’ followed Martin Bashir’s lies,
Charles said of his affair ‘after the marriage had irrevocably broken down ‘
Diana said much in private tapes which were published after her death. She spoke of her affairs.

Her awful attack on Tiggy Legge Bourke was public

Probably because it was her birthday.

The Sussexes are noted for coming out with something or other whenever the real Royals are doing something newsworthy.
