Charity shop joy!

As I’m the head sorter/ chuckerouter/ decision maker you can imagine the temptation.
I couldn’t resist this today.

I saw a beautiful pair of Gabor shoes in Morningside yesterday. Unfortunately they were too small!

I seldom find clothes in Charity shops but curtains, knitting wool, games and toys for the DGC and even a bookcase once.
Edinburgh Crystal had their factory in our town so crystal glasses often appear, likewise in Galasheils you often find tweed cloth and remnants from the now closed mills.

Years ago I often bought clothes from charity shops and got some very good bargains. Not so much since the onset of eBay I think. However, I have bought some lovely crystal vases over the years as I love my flowers. Some are really heavy so good quality.

I’m with CrazyH. I sometimes find ornaments but rarely clothes. Whenever I do buy charity shop clothes I can normally see why someone has given them away. As mentioned in another thread, charity shops are no longer cheap especially when it comes to tops which often don’t cost more brand new.

Good find Marydoll I love charity shops, I bought 5 pieces of Yong Kim about ten years ago. I am still wearing them now. They were all black outfits, the dress was lovely £6. I saw it on line at a reduced price of of £89.
I also buy all my candles in charity shops.

Today, while on trip to the coast with our toddler granddaughter, I picked up a brand new pair of Paver's leather loafers for £5.
I was delighted!

When I think of MS clothes from the 80s and 90s I sent to charity because I was fed up with them I could cry. I am pretty well the same size and remember some lovely things. So well made with good linings and pockets. Quality materials.

I love trawling through charity shops. I picked up a lovely butter dish, a lovely crystal vase - not been so lucky with clothes….I’ll keep tying
