Good morning all from Glasgow, where it is 5°C and sunshine predicted.
I woke up at 4am with a blinding headache and painful arm, after my vaccination yesterday. I am not complaining, the discomfort is worth it.
The problem was not being able to find the venue, despite using the sat nav. As we say in Glasgow, we were going roon aboot the hooses, with no success and an impatient toddler protesting loudly.
All we could see was what looked like a church, with Jesus Saves! banners, fluttering in the breeze..
It turned out to be a former church, converted to a community hall.
It also housed a food bank and a hairdresser's!! It was stressed to me that the appointment was for over seventy fives and the immunocomprimised only. The person in charge was extremely efficient and thorough, going through my medical notes, checking that I was happy to go ahead. She gave up, when I started listing all the medication, I was allergic to! I would have been there all day! Surprisingly, it was exactly twenty six weeks since my previous vaccination.
The hub was surprisingly empty, with lots of staff on duty, the uptake must have been low..
We then set of to the coast, where we had a very unhealthy lunch. It was delicious!
It was sunny but cool and BabyD indulged in her favourite pastime of collecting stones and stopping to say His to everyone we passed. DH was getting rather impatient!!! 🤣
She is a cheap date!
A walk around the charity shop and visit to our favourite bakery, with orders from family to action, made for a pleasant day.
We are trying to teach her to share (she is very territorial) and I asked her to share her ice cream with Papa. She did indeed share, but from my tub, while hers remained intact. When her tiny tub was empty, she decided that I should share with her
and proceeded to dig into mine!
As usual, she did not want to go home and just as we were battling to get her into the car seat, bribing her with treats (shame on us) , we realised that she needed changed. In fact she had to be stripped naked. I do not know what the nursery are feeding her on a Wednesday, but someone needs to have a word with the chef!!
She was in a defiant mood and totally unco-operative. We were parked facing the sea, with all the doors open, to fumigate the car and this excited, stark naked toddler, was jumping up and down, shouting, the sea, the sea!, much to the amusement of passers buy.
After DH jammed my already painful hand in the car seat, I decided we are totally incompetent and useless, as grandparents. 😉
While we were there, the nursery phoned to say that the were taking the children on the train to the coast. They are very brave!
Fortunately, we had planned our route home, to avoid a double journey. I brought keys to DS's house, so we could let ourselves in. To our relief, DIL was already home and shortly afterwards, her mum visited, so we had a good catch up.
The journey time would have been halved, if DH hadn't blatantly refused to listen to me or the Sat Nav. I knew lots of short cuts down country roads, but he was having none of it.😡
Today, I need to go to Silverburn, I am dreading it, it is the school holidays and I don't like children. 🤣
I also need to make Mars Bar cake for the party tomorrow, so yet another busy day ahead.
Sallyforth, enjoy your break, you need it. Good luck to all with building work going on and a virtual hug for all, who need it.
Have a good day folks.
Husband wants us to go to live in Portugal
Have you ever 'googled' yourself?
