A boring day thread

There seems to be a need for it!

Post here what you are doing, if your day is boring.

I, and some others, will still find it interesting.

I suppose I'm having a boring day today. Yesterday was busy. I spent the whole day in the city with a friend. It's tired me out. So today I'm doing nothing.
Just messing around on GN. Will get some lunch in a minute. Later I'll find something to watch on TV.
I'm not at home, I'm at my family's house, looking after the pets while the family are away.
Tomorrow may be different, I shall need to do some food shopping.
Anyway, I shall just get on with my boring day and wish everyone on the thread, or just reading, a happy, boring day. grin

Will watch the boat race later

Oh, thanks, I didn't realise.
Off to watch now, come on Oxford!

Afternoon, just got up after a bad night's sleep. Partner has just run 17 miles, he came in and after a shower made me breakfast.
Washing on, I am going for a shower, and then will hoover. After that, Kindle, gardening and just doing nothing. Not exiting but will chill as I have a busy week ahead. Boring is good for today.
have a busy

'dog plod' grin

Maya1 Sun 13-Apr-25 08:41:20

I have already completed a dog plod. I cannot call it a walk as Toby refuses to really walk, anywhere. We made it to the next close. I did get very excited though as he turned left instead of right. New horizons....
He is now doing his very favourite thing, sleeping.
I am giving hoovering and dusting a miss as l have recently become addicted to mahjong online.
Happy boring day to all.

Palm Sunday. Not boring. Church will be lovely.

After Church quite a boring drive home.

Aveline Sun 13-Apr-25 08:31:59

I'm not happy today. It's not going to be a boring one. I'll not say more than that.
However, I was amazingly happy and smug yesterday when I discovered how to order a Nectar card. I can hardly wait to access the astounding bargains that will open up to me.

loopyloo Sun 13-Apr-25 08:29:38

Fancythat, are you in Birmingham?

fancythat Sun 13-Apr-25 08:17:42

The replacement blades for the Flymo have arrived.
It's amazing what one can get excited about.

I got excited a few weeks ago that it was bin day!

Well, I happened to have a lot to fill it with that time, that I wanted rid!

I think you win today’s prize for the most boring activity!

Mine will be making a batch of gluten free bread rolls. I used to find it exciting until I realised that eating them means I have to do it all again. 🤔

V3ra Sun 13-Apr-25 07:32:26

loopyloo I'll trump your lawnmower blades with my recent purchase of a Kärcher window vac 😁
We have a lot of floor to ceiling glass so it's been a revelation! 😃

The washing machine has just beeped to tell me it has finished the overnight wash. I’d better get up to hang the washing out. Then the major decision of the day - stay up, or back to bed with a book and a cuppa?
Will watch the boat race later.

Well my highlight is cooking a roast dinner for one and the joy if eating it.

rafichagran Sun 13-Apr-25 06:25:50

I think this a boring day thread misschatline that's why posters said you have the wrong thread. I never took it as being about getting old.

loopyloo Sun 13-Apr-25 05:45:51

Yes that's fine when one has the fitness and funds to do it but for some people those days are over.
But life can still be good fun and that's what these posts are about.
Today, am going to wash the bathroom floor and finish cutting the grass.

MissChateline Sun 13-Apr-25 04:04:56

I’m really sorry if people took my post the wrong way. I guess what I was trying to say is that life doesn’t have to be boring and for those of us who are fortunate enough to be able to get out and do things there’s so much we can do.
I am lucky that I have a younger partner who motivates me to get out and do things which I probably wouldn’t do if I were alone and some healthy competition as to who can walk the furthest and get to the top first!
I’m also very lucky that I’ve never been ill apart from the occasional cold in my life but I have always made maintaining exercise and a healthy lifestyle a priority.
So I apologise if my post was misunderstood

I don’t get bored that often because I like to read and do handcrafts and we have an overly large garden which needs a lot of work ( too much these days ). There are certain people I can ring and yack to if need be,too. Only one of our 4 girls will talk at length, the others are always busy so I only ring them when I have something to tell them, not just for a chat. We have cats and they are lovely, always jumping on my knee and purring, makes me feel happy. If I feel really bored I get in the car and drive to Costco - that makes me want to escape back to my house and have a coffee. I’m going off that, though, too American for my liking.

Had some supper (quiche and salad), watched the tv, got to the 5% question on the 1% club (never normally happens).
I did quite well tonight but didn't get the 10 Downing Street one - duh!

I did half a row of crochet.

I liked that question, but I can’t crochet. Perhaps I can procrastinate about learning tomorrow? 😊

Lots of videos online, that's how I learnt, Smintie
Bella Coco is easy to follow.

Who knows, you could crochet your very own Lee Mack!

Kate54 Sat 12-Apr-25 22:47:16

Online jigsaws?! They sound excellent. Hope they’re easy to find as they sound ideal for tomorrow.

Thank you for reminding me about online jigsaws, Grannygravy. I’d forgotten about them but now I can fritter away more time doing them instead of more exciting tasks such as folding laundry.

Smintie Sat 12-Apr-25 22:37:37

Got up, stripped the bed, put the washing on, changed the cat litter and ran the hoover round. Made a coffee.

Did the crosswords on the Telegraph website. Made another coffee.

Spent an hour on the family tree, then drove into town and wandered around Waterstones, bought two books. Popped into Waitrose and got some groceries, came home and listened to the radio.

Had some supper (quiche and salad), watched the tv, got to the 5% question on the 1% club (never normally happens).

Looked at this website and answered this question.

Trying to keep myself busy and active throughout the day, so when I am alone at night, I can think that the day wasn’t totally wasted.

Widowed isn’t great but I’m faking it until I make it.

I had nothing planned for today, but following old habits, I did various household chores this morning, then spent a while on my tablet browsing and playing Solitaire and Scrabble.
