A boring day thread

There seems to be a need for it!

Post here what you are doing, if your day is boring.

I, and some others, will still find it interesting.

I am having another day sitting in front of the TV watching tennis as I have back problems at the moment and it hurts to walk or even lie down in bed. Only sitting is comfortable.

fancythat Sat 12-Apr-25 11:39:20

That is awkward. Hope you get better soon.

Anniebach Sat 12-Apr-25 11:44:49

I live in a nursing home, each day the same,

I think when you get to pension age and beyond, the days will be similar. Thar’s unless you are one of these people who joins a gym, walks, does good work etc. and never has a spare moment.
Whatever you are doing, if you are enjoying it, fine. If not, perhaps you should find something else to do (if health and wealth allow, of course).

fancythat, brilliant idea!

I'm just wobbling off to the Co-Op for a 1L bottle of Simplee Aloe Very fruit juice!

Then I'll walk out and guzzle the lot as I'm waddling down the road, and chomping on the lovely juicy bits!

Just came back from a walk in the park. Going to church this evening - for company as much as anything.

I’m sat in our sunny kitchen watching the garden birds. Later I will be having a nap, then sat here again while we have lasagne for dinner.

I’m not at all bored, I came home from hospital on Tuesday after a long stay and I’m just so happy to be here.

I am well beyond pension age and I like my daily routine in which the more the days are all the same the better I like them. One high spot of my daily routine is my fried egg on bread with a cup of tea and I am serious about eating as it's a pleasure that I can still rely on.

Grandma70s Sat 12-Apr-25 12:16:42

I’ve spent the morning doing nothing in particular, a bit of writing, a bit of reading. A bit later I’m going to watch Fiddler on the Roof on TV, and my son will ring me at some point, as he always does.

Grandma70s Sat 12-Apr-25 12:19:15

I should add that I’m not particularly bored. I like doing not much.

Have had breakfast in bed, my weekly treat cooked by DH. Saturdays are lie in day! Nothing planned for this afternoon, probably read my Kindle, maybe watch football later, we have Sky Sports as we are both football fans.

I like this thread very much, something I can relate to!
I've had a lazy day at home. But I did try to learn continental knitting via Youtube. I started out ok but it deteriorated as it went on and now looks a mess.
Try again tomorrow!

loopyloo Sat 12-Apr-25 12:26:23

fancythat Sat 12-Apr-25 12:41:43

Crumbs, I have come back to this and there are now 16 posts!

tanith Sat 12-Apr-25 12:42:52

I’ve had a walk and spent time in the garden emptying pots with dead plants in and using pliers and WD40 to dismantle a bird feeder so the the bits will fit in my car when I do a dump run. Now I’m hanging out bedding and putting another load on. It’s lovely in the garden Anniebach can you go outside to enjoy the Spring sun and sounds?

fancythat Sat 12-Apr-25 12:44:34

Anniebach

I live in a nursing home, each day the same,

I didnt realise that you are in a nursing home.
I have not been in a nursing home before and seen anyone on a computer. Good for you.

Due to a health problem I have to slow down a lot. This means all household jobs take longer so my day is filled in slow motion. The upside is that during rest periods I can read a few chapters of my book. Glass half full.

teabagwoman Sat 12-Apr-25 12:50:55

I’ve dealt with my Tesco delivery and hung the washing out twice! I’d just got it all out the first time when the whirligig line folded itself up. Someone mentioned on another thread going for some Anglo Saxon therapy, there was a lot of that! Having a rest now and feeling guilty about a pile of paperwork that isn’t going to get done this afternoon.

Aveline Sat 12-Apr-25 12:52:42

I was so happy to wake up this morning to a pretty blank day. Lots of time to read the papers, compulsively complete the crosswords and relax into a blissful TV binge. Boring but just what I like.

Casdon Sat 12-Apr-25 12:54:52

A day at home for me too today. I’ve been to Morrisons, dropped my son off, and just planted some nigella. Later I’m planning to clean the patio. Not very exciting, but I’m happy, I like days with no plans.

Grandmabatty Sat 12-Apr-25 12:57:59

Washing is out and nearly dry. I've been out for breakfast with a friend. Now scrolling on internet. I've just received a bouquet of flowers from my friend's partner and his sister because mum died last week and I realised I've run out of vases. There will be something boring for dinner when I can be bothered looking in the fridge.
My days are filled with small things but I'm generally content

Hellogirl1 Sat 12-Apr-25 13:11:20

My days are all quite boring, I can`t go out unless someone takes me, so rarely leave the house. My daughter brought round an application form for Attendance Allowance, I`ve started to fill it in, but there are 30 odd pages, so I`m doing it in stages.
Haven`t a clue what to have to eat today, the freezer is fairly amply stocked, but don`t feel like cooking just for me. There is a frozen ready meal shepherds pie, may have that, I`m a lazy mare, lol!
