There seems to be a need for it!

Post here what you are doing, if your day is boring.

I, and some others, will still find it interesting.

I’ve just remembered to put the recycling bin out.

Greenfinch Mon 21-Apr-25 17:41:20

And then it rained so I brought my washing in.

Mollygo Mon 21-Apr-25 15:07:06

The sun came out, so I hung out some washing.

Easter is the most important period in the Church year, to my family. We're Catholic and observe Lent. Our Easter crockery is not posh - we wouldn't know posh if it came round for tea.

Allira Mon 21-Apr-25 14:40:45

Well, I've got Christmas plates and dishes, Norah, but not Easter crockery!
There's posh for you 😁

Easter crockery into cabinet, my husband's business sorted for another week.

Last night my Roamanian refused invitation to late night wee as it was raining.

My day isn't at all boring today, so I can't comment 😉

I went for a walk in the rain to look at the flooded creek. It's been ages since it rained so much. The GC are coming for their egg hunt tomorrow when hopefully the ford will be passable.

Productive day in the garden. Planting peonies which hopefully will flower next year. The soil is very hard as we have had little rain here for weeks. Now, a quiet night in waiting for antiques roadshow on bbc.

Just got back home from DD’s so watching The Messiah on BBC2. It’s the perfect antidote to a rather hectic couple of days.
Tomorrow I’ll be back to boring! 😂

Small family gathering which went well.
Now exhausted.
Dog asleep at my feet.

2nd Easter following the death of my husband. Adult children are with partners families (turns are only fair), so I got up late (9am), had a very long bath, then some crossword puzzles, looked at my embroidery but wasn’t inspired.

Read a little more of Richard Cole’s Wheat and Chaff book about his time as a vicar, ate 5 chocolates from the Easter egg, now having a major debate as to pizza or curry (both in the freezer).

Might have pudding too.

The plumber was coming to look at the boiler on Thursday but didn't so it will be Tuesday now. Thanks for asking. I did have a shower at my daughter's house yesterday.

Oreo Sun 20-Apr-25 15:50:52

I didn’t shower and dress until lunchtime tho at various times in the morning I did think about getting moving.
DD’s brought round over excited DGC after lunch for an egg hunt round the house.I know there were 12 Lindt mini eggs each for them to find but at the end of the hunt there was about 5 missing confused and have no idea where the missing ones are hidden.
Am working this evening so will now have a little nap.😴

Taichinan

At the age of (nearly) 84 my girth and teeth are of little interest to me, so I have had, very boringly, a Cadbury's Creme egg most days since they hit the supermarket shelves on Boxing Day. I do enjoy 'boring'.

Blimey!😂Am looking forward to those attitudes and I think I will have a walnut whip every day when I reach that age.

So a "boring" Easter sunday here in North Yorkshire. Struggling with my back but also today hands and knees also quite bad, so the minimal plans made abandoned of course. The weather has been mixed but now quite sunny and dry but unfortunately a chilly wind with it too. So not even going out on the yellow peril (my disability buggy). Not following any of the old easter things, no singing in church, or rolling eggs, and family quite a long way away. I had thought of treating myself to a small lamb joint for the traditional meal , but somewhat horrified by price - which they claim to be half price - so didnt bother. Seems a shame that we are surrounded by lambs up in the dales, but price at the moment of any lamb is over the top so think it is going to be smoked haddock cullen skink tonight.

One cheering thing is that there are a lot of radio programmes I enjoy on sunday, and also there is the snooker on the tv. So there was a good programme Reunion on radio 4 where they were talking about making the film of Pride and Predudice which was the one with Alison Steadman in. I thought she was a wonderful Mrs Bennett and of course all the cast were wonderful and the much enjoyed wet shirt of Colin Firth as Mr D'arcy. There were several people on and also the very interesting costume lady. Very enjoyable and it made me think of looking in the radio times and seeing when it is next being shown, as it is one I am happy to watch. again. Then the great Private Passions with Michael Berkely on radio 3 , which is always worth listening to and has some wonderful music, and interesting people to talk to. He is very knowledgeable and has a lovely voice to listen to. So I have been doing two things at once , whilst doing nothing!!

I have had the snooker on the box, but with the sound turned off, and the radio turned on. My father was a good snooker player, and in his day played with various well known players including Ray Readon, and others I cant remember the names of. But to us as children the best thing he did was to win us a weeks holiday at a holiday camp. We loved being able to do all the different things and swimming with a chute into the pool etc, whilst he and my mother probably enjoyed the rest most of all but used to do ballroom dancing.

So last night I stayed up late to watch the very good match where the newcomer beat the world champion in the first round, so quite a sensational start to the game. Probably didnt do my back any good but who cares?! I just have to pay for my pleasures. Apart from this hive of industry I have taken for ages to get myself showered and hair washed and dressed, but have just gone mad and with the help of my stool, have now managed to wash up and so my kitchen is looking clean and tidy. Now I am of course listening to Gardeners Question Time Then I shall watch the next frame of the snooker and have a coffee and then I plan to put my jacket on and go round the borders and dead head the daffodils with my secateurs if I can bend enough. After such an effort I may need to sit down to recover!! Ah now back to radio 3 and the beautiful Allegri's Miserere is sounding wonderful. Hope I havent made you all feel jealous of my hectic schedule!!

Allira Sun 20-Apr-25 13:50:19

Thank you JaxJacky, I will set aside an hour at some point in the future to read it.

Whst happened to Cornish pilchards?

farmgran Sun 20-Apr-25 13:47:24

I was late for church this morning. Had to negotiate small logs on the ford from last nights storm.
Thought briefly about making a simnel cake when I got back but had a sleep instead.
